Very pleased that all the sheep are home. Crwbin Common used to be my local dog walking place, very beautiful but a tricky place to lose anything. That quarry is horrendous with loose scree. Had to get fire service out once to rescue a friend's basset stuck on a ledge half way up. Well done getting the whole flock home.Last edited: 2020-01-11 19:02:05 by Owl

"Sheep update:
I had a phone call from a local who had had a phone call from an elderly lady who had seen three of the sheep. I went up on the quad to the last sighting on the woody end of crwbin common near the entrance to the quarry. When I got there, they had gone but a man in a 4x4 had taken a photo of the three them and told me where they ran (almost vertical face of woodland). I had two trips, shaking food bucket over the next hour as I took quad first which isn’t lockable, and then my car which I could leave. The second time a couple appeared out of the undergrowth and then more and more until all 17 were there in dribs and drabs. I managed to walk them home along the road and they are now all safe.

To those who shared, thank you so much for your help - it made me feel so much more optimistic about their return and it’s amazing how kind and helpful people can be."

Will update status.Last edited: 2020-01-11 14:25:36 by GeoffA - Area Volunteer - Cornwall, Scotland & Northumberland

Due to weather conditions Drone pilots are on stand by until the rain stops. Wayne May from artisan rare breed rescue advises that they will take cover and being small may be under hedgegrows in the immediate area. He also advises owner to get in touch with the rural police.
