Original post by David McBain to A835, A832, Buie & Surrounding Roads, Road Watch (private group)
"Around 2:05 this morning as we were driving back from Ullapool from the freight boat one of my colleagues called me and swears he saw a Wolf at the bottom of the hill at Corrieshalloch Gorge. Around the big steading area on the right hand side there’s a road into the woods and it was just standing there looking at him. He thought he was losing his marbles but after a bit of digging today we have come up with two possibilities. It either is one of the Wolves that has been missing from Alladale Estate or it is a husky dog that has been missing from Ullapool since March. If anyone else has seen anything similar in the area we’d be keen to know as we use the road every night."

"Another update regarding our search for Logan.

We have covered quite some extra areas over the last days:
- Kildermorie
- Wyvis Lodge
- Stratvaich from the south
- south of Rosehall, across the Oykel river

More posters have been put up, and we have spoken to lots and lots of locals. The positive is that many of them have seen the Facebook posts and / or adverts. In total, the social media posts have reached over 100,000 people.

The worrying part is that with so many aware of Logan being missing, and Logan being in heat, there still are no sightings of her. No sheep, cattle, or deer are disrupted by another animal, and we’ve received no mention of this from local gamekeepers and farmers.

We hope to have another drone up in the air to help with fence line checks in the area tomorrow. And we have a male dog up at Alladale for the next week, hopefully leaving a scent mark for Logan to come home to.

Thank you again for your help.

Pieter-Paul"

"Another update regarding the search for Logan, our missing 1 year old female Saarloos Wolfdog in heat.

The areas marked in black have now been searched. Along the marked roads, various base locations have been created with small amounts of dry food, a laminated flyer, and clothes that I’ve been wearing over the last weeks while hiking and mountain biking (so they are nice and smelly). All service stations, several shops and tourist centers, Rosehall Church, and several starting points for hikes have posters with a photo and contact details.

A male wolfdog has been out and about near Culrain today to leave scent marks.

I will hike through Strathvaich tomorrow during the day. And we’re hoping the weather will allow for a drone with thermal equipment to search the area around Alladale Lodge as soon as possible, just in case we’ve missed a spot.

If you have any information, please call 01863-755338.

Many thanks for your help, and all the kind messages. They really help to stay positive.

Pieter-Paul"

"We’d like to share an update regarding our search for Logan, our missing Saarloos Wolfdog.

We’ve searched the below area over the last 5 days with no result unfortunately. No sightings have come in yet, but we are hopeful this weekend will change that. Flyers have been spread in local villages and have been put up on fences in the hopes ramblers might see her. Logan is all over social media which has reached thousands and thousands of people, and an advert has been placed in the Northern Times today. Local drivers, the vet, postmen, and gamekeepers are all on the lookout, as are many many others.

We’ve had two drone pilots up today to help, and another will search the area south of the line Rosehall - Loubcroy tomorrow. The Croick area has been searched on mountain bike, and colleagues have walked the length of the Carron river from Ardgay to Amat forest. We are using thermal imagery equipment at night and are looking for any signs of disturbance of deer populations in the area.

We will head out west early Sunday to Ullapool via Rosehall and onward to the Beauly area.

Logan is a dog in heat, which means she will very actively look for any male dog. But she will be confused, stressed, hungry, and tired. She is shy towards people but completely non-aggressive. Should you see her, please don’t try to engage with her, as this will have the opposite effect. Please call Peter or Innes on 01863-755338 any time of day should you see Logan.

Thank you all for your kind messages, help and support. We hope to report back soon with positive news."
