Any news of Kiwi?  Owners still need to keep checking Wardens, Rehoming Centres and getting new posters up all the time.  Do hope she's home soon. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Met Kiwi's owners yesterday at our Doglost stand at the Suffolk Dog Day Show.  They had spoken to the Sussex Dog Warden who had said she definitely had no microchip.  Let's hope this is correct.  Meanwhile the search for Kiwi continues.  I met several people who live near where she disappeared and they have seen nothing at all.  She really has vanished into thin air, and it's quite possible she has been taken.  Stay safe till you are found Kiwi. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So glad to see owner on board here, I know they are looking and have seen ads in local paper, well done.  Hope something comes of the Suffolk Dog Day at the week-end - I will be there with posters too, and so will Doglost with a stand.  I hope Waveney Council are being helpful, all the Councils seem to have a different system and their Wardens are not so easy to contact.  Yasa's advice is spot on.  Keep safe Kiwi till you are found. Your family and pup need you home. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Very good work on here, and jolly good publicity. Keep positive and keep going. she is out there somewhere, and I feel sure someone has taken her home. Posters and publicity will eventually pay off and you will get that all important call. Hopefully someone will become suspicious of a newly acquired dog in the area, and will ring you. Do make sure you keep in touch, and keep visiting the shelters and dogs homes, to keep her fresh in peoples minds. Likewise with the posters - place them in plastic pockets to protect from the weather, but if they get spoiled replace them straight away. Otherwise people may think the posters are old, and Kiwi has been found. Good idea to visit shows with flyers, but do this with any events in the area. Markets, boot sales, fairs, sports meetings, churches, supermarkets - all busy places, and need posters and flyers handed out. Good luck and hope to see Kiwi back home soon. Oh - and dont forget that all vets should have posters. Hopefully she will get scanned.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Kiwi is not forgotten at all, we have been advertising in the local newspapers over the last three weeks offering a reward and we are getting some calls but they are never Kiwi, sadly.  Her puppy Mango is in mourning and her character has changed because she is missing her Mum, she is nervous and jittery.
We are very appreciative of everyone's help with posters etc. and we are going to the Suffolk Dog Day with more posters and hand out flyers, plus looking for her of course.  We have also been in touch with the council about local travellers sites and the dogs homes.
The harvest has started on the farm where she disappeared so we may find something there, but our feelings are that somebody has stolen her as she has disappeared without trace or sightings in the local area.

Have put Kiwi on www.lostalab.co.uk so she should be there v soon.  I've told owner and also asked her to put a post on this page.  Two labs found today, one was a different female in Yoxford, and the other a black male with large head ('old fashioned type') found in Saxmundham, now at Pampered Pets.  Hope farmers in area all know as they will be combining now - owner says they've been informed.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

You are doing well Jimmi, I notice she had been missing in 2004 also. Hope the owner is looking daily and done lots of posters. Can the owner not update the site ?  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Kiwi's owners - you need to keep in constant touch with the Rehoming Centres and local Councils (Suffolk Coastal, Mid Suffolk and Waveney) as dogs which are found and taken in are only kept for ONE WEEK and then rehomed.  Waveney is on 01502 523192 and Meadow Green, Loddon is 01508 548216.  Pampered Pets and West End Kennels, Buxhall I have already given you.  Hope you're found soon Kiwi. Have now informed Waveney D.C. and Meadow Green Rehoming Centre at Loddon who have both taken details.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I've put more posters up today - Southwold pet shop, White Hart Blythburgh, etc. & kind lady who lives in Yoxford & walks regularly in area will keep a look out for Kiwi.  Trying to contact Waveney Council who cover area just north of Yoxford but they they really need owner to contact them, not sure if this has been done.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you Bess 'n Barney's Mum, I spoke to owner again today (I did ask her again to add something to Kiwi's page).  Apparently the property is a holiday let and the owner was getting it ready/handing over to tenants last week when the dogs ran off, the pup returned alone.  They live at Wrentham which is about 10 miles NW up the busy A12 from Yoxford so Kiwi could well be heading back here - hopefully across country although she'd have to x the road.  She could also have been picked up.  The Latitude Music Festival was that week-end.  There have been two false sightings. Good idea if family could put flyers through doors in the area as the houses are sparsely situated around Yoxford and many have pools/ponds/outbuildings.  Also poster Wrentham area and Southwold where we all know it is very busy at this time of year!  May be worth them also asking for a Travellers' Liason Officer to help and keep a lookout.  Keep safe, Kiwi. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Poor Kiwi.   I'm much too far away to help unfortunately, but I do hope her owners are looking for her too, I'm sure they are but it's nice when owners come onto the site and report what they are doing, it does give others the will to carry on helping with the search.   Please be safe little girl xx   Well done Jimi, keep going, you're doing a great job!   And be found, Kiwi!!

Is there anyone out there?!  Kiwi's page seems very quiet.  Have been out today and added to posters already in area, also local pubs - White Horse at Badingham, The Griffin at Yoxford, footpaths, shops and antiques centre Yoxford.  There seems to be some confusion as to where Kiwi went missing from - the address I was given has holiday tenants who knew nothing about her.  If this address is correct and she returns, there could be no-one there for her.  I hope I'm wrong and will try to clarify with owner tomorrow. Have given the tenants poster, they are dog-lovers and will look out for her when walking their dogs around the area.  Nice people at nearby farm have checked ponds and are watching out.  There are many ponds and swimming pools in the area, please everyone check these thoroughly.  Also lots of farm buildings in area which need to be checked.  Keep safe till you are found Kiwi. x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Is there a swimming pool at Strickland Manor?  I'm sure Kiwi is ok but do check if there is, dogs have fallen victim to pools many times I'm afraid.  Hope to get up to Yoxford tomorrow and poster area.  Stay safe Kiwi. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Apparently Kiwi ran off with her pup last Thurs 17th on Strickland Manor Hill, Yoxford.  Her pup returned but not Kiwi.  There are about 500 acres of land around her home and as the crops are up it's not easy to search.  Owners have postered area and I've suggested scenting, and maybe putting food with pilchards in garden.  Please could everyone in area look out, especially those walking dogs in countryside.  Kiwi is friendly.  Any more ideas anyone?  Hurry home, Kiwi. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hope Kiwi is back safely soon.  Once we get a picture I can help get posters up a little south of Yoxford and around area.  Did Kiwi escape?  Any more info?  Please owners, call and check Dog Warden 01449 727473, Pampered Pets Hacheston where found dogs are taken 01728 747760, West End Rescue, Buxhall ditto 01449 737641 (keep checking), Suffolk Animal Rescue 01728 860937, Blue Cross 01394 283254, RSPCA 01473 623280.  When posters are done give to milkmen, postmen, refuse collectors, put up in shops, newsagents, schools, dog training centres, libraries, etc. & send to all vets. Stay safe Kiwi. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
