Thanks so much to you all.
And @Reynard Duchess is a friends of mines witch i have put up for her. - 2015-02-06 16:24 Unknown
- Can we have an update on Honey soon please?
- 2015-02-05 19:43 Reynard
- Hi! Missingnooks is that your post on Duchess or just a coincidence please ?

- Jayelle. I did a similar thing with my two rescue cats. Get two pieces of cloth, and put the the scent of Honey on one cloth, and the scent of Cracker on the other cloth. Now place Honey`s cloth under Crackers food dish, and place Crackers scent under Honeys food dish. Then Honey will associate Crackers scent with something yummy. This worked for my two resceue cats. Keep on doing this for a little while with the clothsLast edited: 2015-02-04 15:21:04

- I agree with jayelle.I rescued a dog from Portugal years ago before the pet passports came in.We used to visit the quarentine kennels with Jess in the the car whilst we made a fuss of Chica in her kennel. When they met for the first time after Chica had done her 6 months in quarentine they greeted each other like long lost friends..You may find adaptil (dap) and skullcap and valerian tablets from Dorwest herbs helpfull.

- While you wait for her to settle, this tip could help: put a cloth in Crackers' bed and another in Honeys bed for a night. Then swap the cloths so they are each able to smell the other's scent while relaxing in bed and not actually meeting.
You can keep swapping the cloths for a while before they meet again. - 2015-02-03 20:57 Laura
- Really heartbreaking story, wonderful news to hear that honey had been reunited with her family but really sad to hear how sad story :-( praying nooks will soon be found xx

- missingnooks. Thank you for your post, and I hope you find Nooks soon. Please give Honey time, as it is early days yet. Also I know she has changed, but she is not unique in not being arond other dogs. I walk a dog for someone, who also doesn`t like other dogs. and hasn`t been through what Honey has. Please give her time, patience, and prayers. I think a dog therapist would be a good idae, but let her settle down first. She has after all been through heaven knows what! Please give her lots of (((HUGS))) from me and my family. Ps. Has missing Nooks been posted on DL as I cant seem to find it?Last edited: 2015-02-03 20:35:56

- Really glad to read that Honey is finally home. I so hope she settles in and recovers from her time away from you, as much as she possibly can. Maybe once she's had time to calm down a bit it would be worth seeking help from a reputable behaviourist, who uses kind and up to date methods, re her being around your other dogs. Please don't wish for Cesar Millan, the poor girl has been through enough already! Take care - and I really hope you get good news about Nooks soon too x

- Thanks for all the lovely messages.
Will take on bored all the comments.
Honey is so excited to be home from the minuet she saw her family you could just tell.
Unfortunately i don't think she will ever be able to be around other dogs again :(
(unless Cesar Millan plans to come to the uk anytime soon witch i doubt lol)
Honey used to live with 5 dogs before she was stolen, Spencer a golden cocker spaniel who's now 10, Crackers a lab cross whippet who is a month apart from Honey they are both 7, Nooks a blue staff who was her best-friend who's 8(could never get them apart)who was also stolen at the same time. And two foster rescue dogs who have found loving homes.
She was very socialized, a lot of time and effort went into making sure she was not your average stereotypical type staffie cross bread as people would say.
The day Honey got back home she gave Spencer 1000s of kisses but the moment she saw Crackers she tried to attack her, if you mention Nooks name she will sit by the window or door pining for Nooks.
Her first trip to the park was even worse every dog she saw she went for witch was a big shock as Honey was the type of dog if another dog came over and tried to fight Honey she would lay down and play dead (she was such a softy a big scaredy cat)
If there is a dog on the tv even a cartoon dog she will run up and attack the tv.
The swings in the park she attacks them its like a bull that see's red.
Honey got home just in time as she needed a emergency operation to save her life and i don't think the people who had her would have taken her to the vest or even realized she was ill.
But shes back home so that's all that counts, have to take each day as it comes and thank god for bringing her to where she belongs.
If any of you have a missing dog please don't give up hope, Honeys come home years later and we still wont give up on Nooks.
Start a facebook page/twitter account/instagram for your dog the more publicity you give your dog the more people see and help you.
Please remember micro chipping is so worth it with out Honey being micro chipped she would have been either put down (god forbid) or allowed to go back with them thugs.
So once again thank you to everyone who helped/followed/shared Honeys long journey its soooo aprecatied x - 2015-02-03 12:46 Angel

- jenny4 You are right. I believe you can buy a product called anxiety which has a calming effect on cats and dogs. I am thrilled that you have her back where she belongs, Honey, and her family must be so happy to be reunited. Am sure with tlc, and lots of love, and perhaps a dog therapist she will soon be right, just give her time. I hoipe the thugs who had her get a taste of their own medicine, and not just a slap on the wrist. Sending Honey absent healing. Please keep us updated on her progress (((HUGS))) to Honey. Get well soon sweetheart.

- So pleased she is home, its going to take a while to reajust to her new life but with time and patience she will get there..she will have to be treated like a rescue dog you take on..it all takes time but she will be fine.a word of note on Staffords, I have them, they dont always tolerate others so not too much to be alarmed about and they are people dogs who really never do well in rescue centres owing to their clingy needs so as Reynard says she may benefit from some professional help.loving thoughts to her xx

- So good that Honey is now back where she belongs. I'm sure she will receive lots of TLC which will help her re-adjust. Stay safe and close now gorgeous sweetheart xxxx

- I was so pleased to know honey is home but very sad to read her fear level is so high poor girl & poor you - deep trauma is a horrid thing in animals & humans - please try homeopathic remedies such as aconite & phosphorous & also Bach flower remedies they do work for sure even just some rescue remedy will help her to relax a bit more please try for a while you have absolutely nothing to lose they are completely safe even if like my dog as a puppy ate a whole load of homeopathic pills no reaction but when treated they work trust me.i hope you do choose to get her on some these - others. Will say they can't work but they just don't know - one my dogs had a gdv other week was passing out as timmy sweeping up I had ryescue remedy on me gave her few drops & she came round & managed walk to my vehicle - vets for emergency op.i know that is only reason she came round. Bless you both good luck -& give her some time on a few she come round from her trauma too just as others have she also had loads of trauma when i rescued her - littlewhile on bachs & homeopathy she relaxed n different happy dog xxhttp://www.google.co.uk/search?q=bach+flower+remedies+for+dogs&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&meta=cr%3DcountryUK|countryGBLast edited: 2015-02-03 06:58:08 by MagicalBadgerWish - Area Volunteer - Bath

- Poor girl. She will remember you, even after all this time. She has probably been beaten to bring out the fear in her. Gentle love will bring back the trust. It will take time and I pray you are all strong enough to bring her back from the terrible life she had.xx

- I hope that you and Honey have some happy times together - if you have any problems at all - ask for help from Staffordshire Bull Terrier groups - she will need all your love and tender care to trust again. Keep her safe.
