Buster is quite a big springer as in height! Wasn`t overweight or skinny! will try to get some more picture on soon need my husband to do it as its beyond me! His head is all brown tail full and brown and white and his chest is completely white slightly shy and would back off rather than bound up to people. I mostly used to drive him to potmans lane for his walk although mick would quite often lead walk him around the lanes from Lunsford cross and surrounding areas. Where have you seen this springer that looks a bit like buster as we will check it out as well what time of day have you seen him Will poster st marys lane keep me updated - elaine- thanks will also do kit wilson and am doing any kennels in the area including hastings eastbourne and will do patcham the r.s.p.c.a kennelsLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

@ Barryboy, thanks for the phone number! was unaware that was the situation in our area. Was thinking, has Kit wilson, Barby keel and Sussex pet rescue etc been notified? My Patch was stolen years ago and he unded up at Kit wilson, soon reclaimed him i can tell you lol. I think that now is time to get the local rag onto the case of Buster, if enough people email / write in at the same time as the owner, surely they could run a story. Was Busters chip recently checked to make sure it hadn't migrated and was still working? I am keeping my eyes peeled and have my eye on a Springer i have recently been seeing (too far away to tell for sure) but it is very distinctive, any additional pictures would be a real help as i hope to approach the man and dog within the next couple of days (everytime i have neared him so far he has put the dog on the lead and walk in the other direction). What area does Buster live in and how well did he know the area? was he walked on a set route or was he always driven to his walks? Sorry for so many questions but i would love to find this boy back in the bosom of his famiily. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Yes Animal Wardens Ltd are the new "authority" for lost/stray dogs in Rother. Please keep on at them-they will not inform you if they find your dog! Go to their kennels in person and check their current dogs on a weekly basis.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

As a follow up to RavenMQ's message, Rother Council do not employ their own Dog Wardens, they use contractors called Animal Wardens Ltd. they can be contacted on 0845 2417253. I suggest that all dog owners in Hastings and Rother make a note of this number, just in case.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

do you have a photobucket account or similar where you could upload different pics of him? as i keep seeing dogs and harassing owners lol (some are so fed up when they see me they do an sbout turn), Any that have side shots or him standing will give better knowledge as to how the "whole" dog looks as at the moment i am only looking for a pretty solid tan headed springer. How tall was he and was he a broad boy? Don't know if anyone postered St Marys lane rec, but i was up there today and there were no posters about ( i am out of ink in my printer at the mo so if anyone has some spare posters they are needed up there, also by the church)Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Please, please, please keep on at the local dog warden for Rother. Take photos of your dog to their kennels. Do not assume that they will contact you if they find your dog or if he is handed into them.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sophie I think you really must extend this search further now. With no sightings at all, Buster has got to have been picked up by someone and could have been taken out of the area. Go to the papers. Send in a really good photo and keep pestering them until they put an article in. Send your article to as many newspapers as you can, covering the surrounding areas. You can telephone their newsdesk if that is easier. And keep postering. Extend the postering further out. Someone may have come to area for a day trip or a holiday, so the more publicity the better now. Thank goodness he is chipped. It may also be better if you can find a photograph that shows his liver patches more. If you need help with media, PM our press officer Keelah. You will see her about on other pages. Good Luck and keep up the good work. If someone has her the more posters, the more chance someone will spot her and give you that all important call. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

What about seting up a Doglost folder in you local vets. Folder, plastic wallets and missing notes on lost dogs is all you need and of course the vets permission. Should proove an interesting read for waiting clients and promote Doglost.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Lots of good advice from Yasa, as I live in Bexhill Town Centre I will take posters to the local taxi offices, the Community Centre and see if the Post Sorting Office will put a poster up so the posties can keep an eye out for Buster. Stay safe Buster come home soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Sophie - so sorry no news on Buster yet. Has he done anything like this before? Just trying to get a feel for what sort of a personality he has and if he is likely to have tagged onto anyone, or whether he will be scared now, and hiding up. is he an outgoing dog that would run up to someone, or would he shy away? I think you need to keep postering and handing out flyers to everyone in the area. Dog walkers, delivery people, like postmen, milkmen, bin men. Poster the supermarkets, taxi offices, bus stops and train stations. Take away food shops, pet and animal feed stores, groomers, dog training schools, post offices. hand out flyers at markets, churches, football training, boot sales, village halls, community centres etc etc. Anywhere where lots of people gather. Also it does not look as though you have had anything in the press. Ring your local papers and your free hand out papers and try to get something in with a photo of Buster. He could have been picked up and the finders have not notified the authorities. I hope you are visiting your local pounds and police stations on a regular basis and are in constant touch with dog wardens of all your local areas. Sometimes people think a dog has been found. You must keep this up, and you may need hundreds of posters, but this is the way to get sightings. Good Luck ! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

to everybody who has replied, thankyou very much for your help and assistance in trying to locate buster. We were unable to post this message earlier, due to problems logging in. Barry, thanks for visiting the vets with some posters, we could not advise earlier that we had done some of these. Just to update, he is still missing. Thanks to everyone again. We will keep looking. Elaine, I don't have your email so I hope you get this. Ive put 8 poster around Pevensey Bay, 1 at the lamp post at the point where I thought I saw him, with an extra note for the chap who held his collar and 1 at each of the 3 camp-site receptions on that road. Ive also checked the verges for any signs but didn't find anything. Ill make sure that we walk the dogs around the area for the next week or so in case he is still there and ill give a poster to my dog walker when she comes in tommorow. Ill let you know as soon as I hear or see anything. Love Ben and Jo , Messy PupsLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
