Any news on this lovely lad? My eyes are open, and every black Lab I see in the woods gets the 3rd degree if I haven't seen it before! Come on Charlie, come home mate, tell whoever is holding you to let you go.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I saw two very "rough" men today walking a large black lab at 10.15 am to Primrose Hill , London, NW3 . They were walking it on a long lead and treating it very brutally. They were not using a name for the dog. I feel sure it wasn't their dog, it may have been taken for a reward. I will send this email to all owners who have recently lost black labs. The dog looked in good health.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Jan & Harleysmum, any coverage for this lovely boy will help.Just spoken to owners son. They have had a couple of calls but nothing has come of them. Owners were out looking after having a call about a possible sighting this afternoon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I live in Rickmansworth so am keeping an eye open for this lovely boy. I'm a Deputy AC for Labrador Rescue South East & Central, and his profile will, if it's not already go up on our website. I've also posted his details on a rescue site I use, so any coverage is welcome. Surely someone has this chap when they shouldn't. Could have been picked up by a passing canal boat and handed in further along. My thoughts are with Charlie's owner, I can only imagine what he's going through. Please let Charlie be ok.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Its a week now and I see there is still no news of Charlie, and no reported sightings. This must be heartbreaking for his owner. I keep looking whenever I go out. Someone must have picked him up. As he is chipped, there must surely be some hope of getting Charlie home.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I saw the article in the Watford Observer about Charlie and hope this will help bring him home. I have been away at week-end so didn't see the poster or the newspaper until this morning. I will put up some posters after I finish work today as I work in Watford. I hope Charlie stays safe until he is found. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I couldn't get any posters up on Wiggenhall Rd itself as there was a football match on & the traffic was solid & I was unable to park down there but I have postered along the park on Riverside Rd & down a few of the side roads in that part of Watford especially near all the little parks that are dotted around there. Also put a few up on the western side of Oxhey. Will try & get some more up tomorrow...Thanks Millie's Mum for sending info out to all the Lab rescues etc.As we know, as much coverage as poss makes all the difference.SxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

That's good, Rigrunner. We've done the Rickmansworth end of the Ebury Way and had a good look for Charlie and spoke to various dog walkers. The downside was the little b*****d we passed who thought it would be fun to rip down some of the posters.... Driving down Wiggenhall Road and the side of the Park, we noticed there were no posters at all. If anyone is able to do that, that would be great. If not, we'll see if we can get over there tomorrow evening.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It's the park near the old railway line - The Ebury Way. This is quite near to where Raife went missing last year and was found near Bright's Farm. We'll take some posters to the Rickmansworth end of the Ebury Way and one off at the Paws 'n' Claws who always take DL posters. There was a really good piece on Charlie in the Watford Observer, which was how I heard about him. Apparently, his owner expected him to make his way home, so he may have been picked up away from the park or the old line.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Which part are we calling Riverside Park? Is it by the Rugby Club? Will poster Waterfields Park and by the Rugby Club at lunchtime if not already done, Dog Warden used to live other side of Link Road in Bushey, but doesn't work weekends, although poor Charlie has been gone a number of days nowLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
