Thank you for your message Angela there have been no more sightings and although i spent quite a lot of time in the Rannoch area last week i then talked to a friend who said someone had a pale, nervous lab in that area so sure it was that dog they saw not Billy. I think the ads would be a good idea, don't know whether to try a national paper too but no idea which one to go for! Just wish i could find him or know what has happened to himLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Keep checking everyday in the hope you may have more info on you boy. Maybe the add in paper would be worth it to jog a few people. What about an add in the green paper, scot-ads in the wanted section?? There are a few of those papers for all areas of scotland. Could maybe tug at a few heart strings with Wanting Your Precious Dog Home!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have had a good look at the photo of the Lab found on a beach in the Wirral but i'm sure its not Billy, too pale and as you say a different head but i think its worth checking any golden labs that are found as if he has been taken in a car he could be anywhere. Thank you everyone for still coming up with ideas and suggestions. I would like to get more press coverage especially Dundee and further afield. Any suggestions on this very welcome. I hope you get more positive sightings of Billy, we used to holiday in Pitlochry for many years & it's a beautiful place. Poster along the dam as many people walk along it, also the falls at Aberfeldy- basically anywhere that people will congregate. Pitlochry is a very busy place & it's good to see you on board Angela, local knowledge is so helpful. You will know the best places to hit with posters, there's so much open land around there. Fingers crossed for BillyLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have alerted owners to check this out because the colour difference could just be the light. The shape of head does look different though.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spoke to farmer from back road near me, no sign of dog and not had any sheep being bothered either BUT her dog has also been barking at times with nothing obvious to see so still a possibility, this is the time for more people to spot him with early morning lambing getting farmers out early every day! Why dont you try coming down A9 and park in the first layby on southbound carriageway after the easthaugh turn off, park in layby and walk down a bit to the open gates that take you into wood, the path splits if you walk up there you will come to 2 old empty cottages and eventually meet the dalcapon road, its worth a walk up that way. And the split to the right you could walk a bit that is wood heading south and you will meet a deep ditch. The other side of that ditch is as far as I had got the other night. Im working sat but if you have any probs ring me for directions. Sorry its so long winded a message!! Good Luck.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spoke to PADS again this week and had a long chat to the Miss Salmon at Lab Rescue last week who said she would put him on their website. The dog warden phoned me this morning as they had found a lab in Pitlochry but he was black! Good to know they are still thinking of Billy. Went again along the Fonab - Logierait road and no sign.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Billys mum, I spoke to Kate Howie and another resident from Moulinearn today and niether have seen him around that area at all so that may rule out one bit not to search, maybe a poster at logierait walks and also if you know the bridge that crosses the river at logierait hotel perhaps attach one there aswell as alot of locals use that bridge. Like you I cant understand this at all the lack of sightings, keep strong if hes around here he will be found.Have PADS and Lab Rescue scotland been contacted?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you for walking your woods Angela. I have not been able to get hold of the woman who reported seeing a dog on Friday to get any more information but two of us have walked the areas you suggested today. I walked quite a way along the Atholl Estates forest paths off the back road from Fonab to Logierait tonight and will put posters up here tomorrow and walk some more. Seems hard to imagine if he is in this area that someone would not have found him as he is such a friendly dog but then everything about his disappearance is out of character. This area of woodland is larger than i thought so i will keep walking different parts of it. Thank you again for all the help xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi after speaking to you on monday i walked the whole stretch of wood from my end to the ditch i said about but no sign, I checked all the paths and ditches on the way aswell. Spoke to local girl who said she saw a gold colour dog in the hill field heading towards Moulinearn on sunday in ballinluig, no sign of an owner with it. Maybe worth you trying walking from football pitch along river in ballinluig and also the back road from fonab to loggierait via killiechangie, hope you got hold of lady again about the sighting for more info. Keep strong and dont give up after all Kat and the cairn dog were reunited today after a long time missing.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Following the PA article on Friday i had a phone call from someone in Alyth who had a dog very similar to Billy follow him home early last week. We went to Alyth yesterday and walked all round the town, put up posters and talked to everyone we met but no other sightings. Also had a call on Friday from a woman who thought she had seen him on the A9 between the Pitlochry and Aberfeldy turnoffs. Have searched there too. Have not been able to get back to this caller for more accurate details. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The Perthshire Advertiser phoned me today for more details about Billy and say they are going to put something in Fridays paper about him and Timbi. Thank you Andrea for contacting them. Had a call yesterday from an SSPCA kennel at Hamilton who you had emailed a poster to saying they had two golden labs but when i called to find out more one was 10 years old and the other black but at least people are seeing the poster and getting in touch. Miss Salmon at Lab Rescue has been really helpful too. Thank you everyone for doing so much to try and find Billy. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Any news? I am praying Billy is found soon. things can develop quickly and suddenly... dont give up hope. I lost my dog for 2 months before she was found. Its that awful not knowing, isnt it. But you must stay strong. What a beautiful place to get lost in, though. Billy would have a wonderful time exploring, and Labs are very strong dogs, and he's young. Thinking of you xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I had 2 weeks off when Timbi missing. I work in the community travelling in highland perthshire and am looking for Timbi and this gorgeous beast also! And my colleagues! I advised about the benfits of this site for this dog. There is an army out there believe me! I am so consumed in finding Tim I am struggling to find time to post for Tim but want the owner to know I am looking but do not have the time at the moment to put it in writing. OWNER< Posters need to be put up in the area on lamposts, entrances to parks and strategic places in parks, vets, petshops, carry-out food shops, local shops, supermarkets, community centres, schools, ask postie, milkmen, binmen (even put poster on bins). Ask school bus drivers and kids on the bus. Deliver flyers to houses & pop through letterbox. Hand out flyers to people in the street, especially dog walkers. Put A4 poster in car windows. Rescue centres, and police offices need checking regularly and preferably visited in person, by owner or someone who knows the dog, because your dog?s breed may not be recognised by other people. Also police are sometimes too busy to do much about it. Get some media coverage if you can, by asking the local radio station to broadcast her as missing and put an ad in the local newspaper with a picture of her. In the case where she may have been stolen, make her too hot for thieves too handle. Best wishes and good luck. x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
