Perhaps a long shot but An older male Lakeland has been found in Whitby. The rescue that has the dog is http://maxismates.org.uk/. Their vet says it is not a Lakeland but an Airedale but they are wrong. Worth contacting them. On facebook the photo is of a very dirty dog: https://www.facebook.com/groups/552782531410406/permalink/2123696057652371/

Still no news but I have just found out that the local newspaer did run an update article - 2 weeks ago. I had emailed them and had heard nothing back so assmued they wouldnt be doing anything. But I was mistaken. I am so pleased - I havent heard anything as a result of it but it is a popular local newspaper and so it will have at least reminded people of the factth ta my doggies are still missing - so fingers crossed!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Had a phone call last night from someone saying they thought they had spotted a dog looking like Alfie on the housing estate opposite Warwick Racecourse. We went and put posters up and spoke to dog walkers. He wasnt with Sally - if it was Alfie - but will keep checking the area.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thankyou for your email - it is so god to know the dogs are still in peoples minds. I think that you just start to feel frustrated and start to think you will never get them back. We have been down as far as Chipping Norton putting up posters. But thank you for your words of encouragement!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hello, Stratford Dog Warden here, I am still keeping an eye out for your pooches. I 've spoken to lots of people and a PCSO phoned to ask if I had seen the posters in the villages and if I had seen them, so people are looking. Keep your chin up, hopefully they will appear soon. Have had a couple of false alarms in the passed few days - but at least it shows people have noticed our posters and leaflets. Have been out further afiled and put a few posters up. Am not sure what to do next - is it worth contacting newspapers again - are they likely to run a second article or is it worth putting an ad in - not a small one in the classified - but a bigger one?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Got in touch with the farmer - sounds like its very likely they were our dogs he managed to get in his barn beofre they broke out through a hole in the barn. Will let the dog warden know tomorrow that we think it was ours. Have been out tonight postering all the surrounding villages - but looks like their collars have been taken off - but am still hopeful - lets hope I get some more news - it does sound as though they are out there still - hoping someone finds them and rings the dog warden or takes them to the vets.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Anyone got any advice on approaching traveller sites??? We had a phonecall from someone who said she had been approached at Crufts by 2 travellers asking how much lakeland terriers are worth and that she thinks we should poster local traveller sites - not sure where they are - will my local council know - do you think? And if we were to approach them is there anything we should say/do???Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

thankyou - will do that . We now have the community police officers involved too - they are being given their details so when out and about on their beat they can keep an eye out. The local dog warden told us today that a couple of weeks ago a farmer had found 2 terriers and locked them in his barn. He called the dog warden and by the time she had arrived they had got out through a hole in the barn. It was near Shipston on Stour - about 15 miles from here and so we are going to see him hopefully and show him a piccie and see if can ID them - awaiting details from dog warden. We are going to poster those areas too.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owner has had problems registering, hopefully this will be sorted soon. The area Alfie and Sally have gone missing in is CV32. They have been putting posters up and ringing the police and dog wardens regularly. They have also appeared in the local newspapers but to no avail. Sadly they have had a few hoax calls - which they expected. Owner would like to thank DL for their support. Jan x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
