I agree LindaT. I said I hoped it would come back to haunt him/her meaning they will sufer in some way
Yes they should be locked up, and the key thrown away, but make them suffer first, such as no food for as long as it takes. I just hope this person doesn`t have any more pets. Yes they are a low life SCUMBAG.

I`m so sorry to be reading this, poor Ben, his last days were most likely the most loved and cared for he had ever experienced ... echoes of dear Elsa the DDB. janiejewel1649 I doubt the person who treated Ben as if he was worth nothing and then dumped him like a bag of old rubbish will be haunted at all ... SCUM like that have no empathy, compassion or guilt, they are a waste of the air we all breathe and are of less worth to this world than the dirtiest dirt we sometimes end up with on the soles of our shoes. Scum like that should be locked up in a dark damp dungeon and the key thrown away. Meanwhile dogs like Ben are being treated like this all over this country and around the world and I am beginning to despair of how it can ever be stopped. Humans can be the worst animals on earth, truth be told. No more suffering now Ben, thank you to all who gave him such care and love in his final days. Sorry for the rant folks.Last edited: 2018-05-04 07:17:42 by LindaT

Yes thanks to all the kind people who helped, and cared for Ben, and the vets who tried so hard to save him, but sadly it was not to be. Ben is in a much better place now as we all know. As for the owner, this evil act of cruelty will come back to haunt him/her. They will get their comeuppance. We will never forgot you Ben. Sleep tight x ((((((HUGS))))))Last edited: 2018-05-03 21:21:49

So very sorry to see Ben's update. Blessings to the wonderful lady who found him and got him to safety, to the Dog Warden and vets who gave him a chance at life, and to every angel that tried to help him. Ben I am so angry that your humans failed you, but now fly high little one, free from pain and suffering xx

NickyB, and Claire, and Jasper. Agree with all your comments. At least Ben had so much love, and care. And he knew people where trying to help him. Nightie, night, Ben, sleep tight, and have fun at the bridge with Judy (Very friendly Staffie girl) who is waitring to play. RIP + God Bless x A~~~Candle~~~burns for you lovely Ben. Run free ((((HUG))) One day when the time is right, I hope someone who is loving, will meet you at the bridge. Not your so called owner/s. who abandoned you, when you needed them most. But now you are out of pain, in the care of the Angels, surrounded by love. I would say to the person who left you in such a poorly state "What goes around, comes around" Remember Kalma I hope you never find another days peace. Can someone pass the tissues please?Last edited: 2018-05-03 11:58:22

Sadly we have to report that Ben lost his fight for life. The vets have been outstanding and tried so hard to make him better and we are very grateful to them. He had so much wrong with him but in the end he was loved and comfortable. Thank you everyone for all your healing thoughts and kind offers of help. What a fantastic community, we are humbled.

So upset & sorry to read this. Glad Ben had care & comfort at the end. Thanks to all who helped him x
Claire and Jasper
Such a tragic outcome for poor darling Ben. At least he had some comfort and love in his final days and died pain-free in the care of kind humans, on a comfy bed in the warm, not dumped and alone in woodland. As for his owners - hell is too good for them. Sad and angry tears are flowing here for him. :(

NickyB - thanks for the update -that is just so sad but at least he died with people who actually cared for him. RIP Ben x x xLast edited: 2018-05-03 10:12:55 by Sandra Watt
NickyB
it is with great sadness that i had a phone call last night from the lovely vet caring for benny to say he didnt make it. i wont put here what i would like to do his owner who neglected him for years and then dumped him in woodlands. thank heavens the angel who found him, the dog warden who cared to put him on doglost and all the vet staff were able to give him love and care

Thanks for update. Paws, and fingers xd.
Georgy Porgy
Whatever the outcome for this poor boy he is getting love & care right now. Keeping fingers crossed for him X
NickyB
ben is getting lots of tlc from member of veterinary staff who takes him home. grave concerns he has neurological problems. keeping fingers crossed but not too hopeful
Molliemoo
Poor baby. How could anyone let you down like this. Wish I could come and give you cuddles and kisses. Keeping everything crossed you've got some fight left in you beautiful boy x
DogLostBeezle
I don't think Ben is Buster 118900. Buster is a young adult and microchipped. Ben is elderly. Of course it's still worth double checking.Last edited: 2018-04-29 21:56:28 by Beezle
NickyB
have spoken to 1 of the two numbers for lost dog 118900 and asked to let us know if this is their dog, which now belongs to someone else

Beezle I thought Ben may have been used for fighting, as he has very similar injuries, including the eye injury to the dog I mentioned in my post 2018-04-27

Thank you Beezle for arranging the care for this dog. I’m happy to contribute. Will check here for updates x
Kate
I too will be happy to contribute towards his vets fees, sending healing thoughts for him.
DogLostBeezle
Thought I would answer some of peoples questions, Ben is now able to stand up on own but needs help walking. He is eating and drinking on his own. This is an improvement but he has a long way to go yet. He needs his eye removed but is too weak for the operation at the moment. He is staying at the vets for the time being while hopefully he regains some strength. He is an old dog and may have other problems that we are not aware of yet. Time will tell.
NickyB (the angel) has generously offered to help pay towards his care. We (the Council) will pay some but this may not be enough to cover everything this poor boy needs. The vets have been fantastic with their care of Ben.
I may start begging for help once we know what we are looking at.
I don't believe he's been fighting as he isnt badly scarred.
We thank you, you lovely caring people for you concerns.Last edited: 2018-04-27 20:54:10 by Beezle

I'd like to make a donation too, and hopefully he can find a home where he will be wanted and loved.
Unknown
I think that too Linda, because a Staffie was found with similar injuries in the West Mids recently (RSPCA involved) with scars consistent with fighting. I hope, and pray that Ben will make a full recovery. Sending gentle ((((HUGS)))) and healing thoughts for his full recovery. Paws xd. Am also willing to donate to Ben`s care too, when we can get details of where. and how to donate. Thanks Gillyp for listing this dogLast edited: 2018-04-27 19:20:25

This is heartbreaking. I would be happy to contribute to his vets fees if there's a way to do so (please let me know). Gentle hugs to poor boy who is in such a sorry state and thanks to the people looking after him and watching out for him xxx
NickyB
lady dogwalker who found him thought he was empty black plastic bin liner........... she carried him home and contacted authorities bless her, but its only thanks to dog warden mandy dorman giving doglost.co.uk the details that i learnt about this poor dog.lovely to be able to do my bit to help
NickyB
ben is being cared for at burghfield vets 01189 832 465 - i contacted claire.fisher@fullyvetted.co.uk she is head vet nurse
LindaT
Poor boy, I hope he will recover enough to have whatever surgery is needed, he does look very poorly. Having zoomed in on the poster I can see Bens` muzzle area/nose has scars, I wonder if he has been used for fighting. If funding is needed and Beezle can give details as to which vet I can send a cheque I will make a contribution. I`m sure every little extra towards the cost in circumstances such as this, as with Elsa, will encourage vets to do all they can if it`s not going to mean they have to foot the whole bill. Keep strong, Ben
Millys Mum
As always, a huge thank you to GillyP for listing this poor little soul on DL and also to NickyB and Beezle for caring. It’s comforting to hear that there has been a slight improvement overnight - he must be so happy to be in a cosy bed in the warm and receiving care and attention at the vets. What on Earth was he doing all alone in the middle of woods? Is the surgery Ben is awaiting (once there’s been further improvement) regarding his injured eye? Beezle is funding needed for this boy? I do hope that we can do the same for Ben as we did for Elsa the Dogue de Bordeaux.

Hoping Ben continues to improve thank goodness he is getting the care he needs x
NickyB
thank heavens for doglost.co.uk - otherwise we would never have known about Ben, as vets have called him. rang today showing signs of improvement but emaciated so too weak for any op yet. have asked vets if they have time if they could update doglost
Juls
Bless him. hope he will be ok x x so sad Last edited: 2018-04-26 21:15:42

We can't thank NickyB enough for her generous offer. Thank you NickyB.
Viv B
So sad, poor little one. Good that he's been found.
NickyB
just spoke to dog warden. this poor dog with vets who are waiting for him to get a bit stronger before operating he is in such a weak condition. i have offered to contribute to medical care. he was found yesterday and has shown a little improvement today. there are far too many dogs, horses, cats being found in appalling condition that have clearly suffered prolonged neglect.......... heartbreaking. to be able to help hopefully to save this victim and give him a new life is a nice feeling. vets have called him Ben
