We and dogwardens are finding this is happening all over the country-some scanners are not compatible with all chips.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

My Nanna and granddad have had a few issues with shadey's chip, it is there and now have found it, however the scanning machines that was used when the young lad took shadey in didn't work and the first one that stow vets used also didnt work, they found another machine and that picked the chip up. The vets are looking into the machines they are being tested, however this could mean that other scanning machines do not work. which then inturn could put a delay on all dogs being reunited with their owners. Including little Cassie. Thank you all for you help. xxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Shadey is happy now that he is home, he's very loving but is still missing his mum cassie. xxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The young person who had taken Shadey in 2 weeks ago did all the right things, including reporting it to police, RSPCA etc. and took him to be scanned at the Vet in Ipswich. The scan showed no chip. The owner took him to the same vet to check this out and again the scan showed no chip several times. It was only on his insistence that, as I understand it, they used another machine which showed the chip. His own vet had found the chip straight away. Hopefully the vet will be investing in a new machine. If this one had worked in the first place Shadey would have been home with his family 2 weeks ago. Cassie is Shadey's Mum and needs to be home with him and their family. Do watch the TV programme on Anige's link it's wonderful. xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Jayne, the lady who had him in in the end was in Hadleigh which is no where near the Freston Boot where he was dumped, thats Hadleigh In Suffolk not Essex. She went to visit a grave in Bramford which again is not near Hadleigh but close to Barham where they were stolen. She saw the poster in Bramford and rang the owner. Thats what I was told by the owner yesterday when I rang them.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Great news. So the couple had only had him a few weeks-this would equate with the time they appeared in our weekly colomn in Countrymans weekly-chances are Cassie has also been dumped-how did the couple get in touch with you?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Welcome home Shadey. COME ON CASSEY GET A WRIGGLE ON. Police attitude is typical and what one would expect. As for the RSPCA I will repeat what an Inspector once told me regarding lost dogs. 'The RSPCA are there for the prevention of cruelty not to look for lost pets'. Read into that and it sort of sums them up. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Wonderful news about Shadey & the police & RSPCA's attitude unfortunately doesn't suprise me. sad thing is if they had scanned him they would have probably picked up the chip. Please get another tag & collar & hope this leads to his girlfriend being returned pdq.xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

First of all fantastic news I am so pleased that Shadey is safe and well. Secondly I understand that the little dog on another site IS NOT CASSIE. So Unforunately we are back to postering and raising awareness. The Freston Boot is the other side of the River isn't it? so not a case of them wandering off. Something just doesn't ring right here?? Welcome home SHADEY it might be worth the owners to go to all the pubs in the area as this is wear a lot of dogs are sold on may be SHADAY did not get the price for who ever had him and he was abandon it may well be that the other dog was sold and the owner should make esquires starting from that pub if anyone had brought a dog from there, and then ask at other pubs and ask if they would put up a poster. As for the police this is what we can expect now from them, but for the RSPCA if I was the owner I would get in touch with some one in authority and report this they are suppose to be a registered charity for Animals. GOOD NEWS, Shadey Has been found He's now home and safe, he was found and brought home. He was found at the Freston Boot Pub near shotley. he had been living with a couple that took him on a for a few weeks. The police was informed by the people that had taken shadey home and was told that if they didn't want him to let him go and will piked up by some one else. The RSPCA also showed no interest in the fact of a dog being found. So he is home and safe and very happy. We now just need to find Cassey. Then the family will be complete. thank you all for your help and surport. xxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We seem to be short of DL people in Ipswich area, I used to live there so know where you are. There is a 'site' opposite Asda, worth leaving a poster there and on asda noticeboard, try suitable pubs around villages, Needham Market, Coddenham, and housing estate at Claydon with leaflets through doors. You could put in newspaper Ipswich evening star, or EADT with photos - not sure how much they'd charge, in Cambs its about ?70 to go in all issues for a week. They may be kind and put in a story? free. Worth bearing in mind its not that far from Essex so worth looking there too.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
