hi im jazzie2000uk daughter just writing to let you all know that we got rosie back in 2008 as the people that had her tried to change the name on the mircochip and we recieved a phone call asking if she was still stolen sadly we still dont know what happened to jazzie

sadly rosie passed away at home on the 23rd jan 2012 she was a lovely dog and im glad she made it home even if it was only for roughly 4 years xx

probably a very long cshot but there is a female 7 years with tipped ears, very matted coat at East Midlands Rescue Centre http://www.eastmidlandsrescue.org/dogs/upcoming.htm

I have spoken to owner and passed information on to them. She is one hell of a woman! Since the theft of Rosie and Jazzy, they have ploughed their love into Westies, her and her hubby are now fosterers for Westie Rescue. And since Aug 04 they have made welcome over 60 Westies into their home. Most have all gone off to their forever homes thanks to them. They are still actively looking for Rosie and Jazzy, so come on all you pet detectives, keep em peeled for these girls and lets get them home to their mummy.

Was it the owners of Jazzy and Rosie that were tracking the movements of Uncle Sams Circus. If so, they are currently at Maypole, Hollywood, Birmingham. Have tried ringing the contact number below and its transferring to a fax machine.

God I have been thinking so hard. I recently saw 2 Westies and I cant think where. But it must have been in Doncaster I havent been anywhere else. The thing which stood out to me was 1 of them seemed slim built for a usualy stocky breed of dog. Im getting so annoyed with myself for not remembering all the details its as though it was a dream. I will say though they looked happy and well cared for. They were both layed down with somebody holding their leads. I didnt even think twice about the dogs and forgot all about them untill I saw this page today.

Hi Liz, I am really sorry that I did not look at your page earlier. After I sploke to you today I was really shoked at the lack of support that you are getting from the police. It is as if you know where the girls are but cannot reach them. You are so close but yet time seems to be escaping! I certainly would start the appeal all over again as if from day one. The diffarence is that you have more information now. Start with offering a reward for any information leading to the safe return of your dogs,no questions asked. Put up posters again,send posters to the vets,pet shops,super markets and kennels,re,fresh memories. If the boys that took the girls are or were local,they will not go to any legnth in selling them. Look at the local areas,not just your area. Druggies are lasy and so are gypsies!!! Start the search all over again but this time go further out. I hope this helps. All the very best Justine

hi- Naomi_Gnome yes that was one of the first things we did but we didnt know at the time the vets only check if the dogs are taken to then as found if someone has them and doesnt know they are chipped and the vet believes that they are their dogs they are not checked and also if the new owners tell the vets that they are chipped and are their dogs the vet doesnt check to see if stolen dogs i have talked to a few vets about this and the machine only give them the id number it doesnt check it on a data base unless the vet asks it to and they dont if someone tells them its their dogs

Hi - I just thought - did you contact the chip manufacturer/database and REPORT the dogs as stolen - that way the new 'owners' won't be able to change the chip details.

two dogs af very similar description have turned up in my Village-about 10 miles away from where they were stolen-will be monitoring this area. when asked where they had got the dogs a very vague answer was given.

just quick note to say thank u to all yet again we r still looking and hoping that who ever has jazz and rosie r looking after them ok i now work for westie rescue fostering the lovely breed that they r as i cant replace jazz and rosie and we r lost with out them to walk plus i can only hope one day that they maybe handed in to westie rescue for me to foster maybe living in dream world but i can hope as i still after all this time get very upset thinking of them sorry jayne i dont look at site as much as i should but it hurts so much it read about all the dogs missing and stolen and the police dont care i have give up trying with them as i wasnt getting anywhere and was told they had done all they can to help

I see that someone else (in Wiltshire) ha lost two westies. How very sad it is to see all these babies stolen away. Are you still searching. How's it going? I see a few dogs reunited after months and months away - and one in Germany reunited after 9 years!!!

I'm going to get on the case to design something to send to vets in my area along Eris's idea - to get all vets to scan ALL unknown dogs at first visit - regardless of knowing owner. I'm sure that these two must have been 'rehomed' and will visit the vet one day - let's hope that they get scanned and reunited soon.

5yo bitch in Liverpool listed for sale on findit. It says KC registered and is most likley a perfectly genuine ad. But it could be worth checking out as seller is listed as T for trader. http://findit.co.uk/pets/dogs/1276292.htm I scan the sales ad as well as the rescues on the web on a regular basis for these two. Don't give up hope you still have people looking for them for you.

I've also got a missing Westie bitch (Tessa - Central PE10 as well as Max a Jack Russell). Although I am quite a way from the Doncaster area, I'll keep my eyes and ears open for leads on your two as well. I work in central Nottingham as well. My two were taken from my back garden during school hours. I've checked the hula website, but it doesn't look like Tessa. Let's hope they all turn up safely very soon.

Rather than form "reunited gangs" it is probably best to form a group badgering the local police and your MP to take action on this rising problem. But I know how angry it makes you feel-on saying that my partner had to fight a gang to get our dog back as the police had no one available! However they had 2 policeman available to try and arrest my boyfriend afterwards!!!!

I have posted this idea on another thread, but seeing as the police like to say it's not a crime to steal a dog, would it be a crime for a group of burly dog lovers to "remove" a stolen dog and re-unite it with it's owners, if the owners know of their whereabouts, or certain lowlifes who could be "interviewed" about it, if reasonable proof was produced? Sorry, long sentance but I think you know what I mean. If enough "burly dog lovers" would like to form a "Stolen pet re-unification" group in South Yorkshire, send me an E-mail.

thank you all for your surport not sure whats happening now as i missed the policeman calling to see me he read satements that have now been taken from to of the youths to my 15year old son but boys been boys he cant remember all that was in them (so not alot of good) but he was told one of the youths as moved and they cant get satement from him and son thinks thats the youth that had the dogs in first place if only the policeman had taken satements from all in first place and not just ones in street like he told me he may have had the truth them and not lies which they r now getting away with sorry for going on and hope this makes sence and not to many spelling mistakes as crying as writing as i know now its to late to get rosie and jazzy back just hope whos got them r looking after them and loving them as much as we did here thank u all again liz

Calender news filmed live last night at the doglost HQ-managed to show Jazzi and Rosie's poster on camera-although I was shaking a bit-hope it helps! Also the Policeman who was here for filming has taken over this case and I know he is a rare gem and feel we will have action at last and a proper investigation-he was appalled at the lack of action and feels if he had been called earlier he could have done alot more.

thank you hollilly and everyone else for your surport it take a long time to prove that the youths was lying to the police and now we have they r getting away with it cause they r under sixteen it makes my blood boil just hoping now that its not to late and that they have not been separated.if the police that questioned the youths in the way we was told they would be and not all together in street maybe one would have told the truth sooner and we would have rosie and jazz back home by now where they belong sorry for sounding bitter but its how im feel right now

Jazzi-come on-what about the Police complaint? Do not be afraid of challenging them-criminals are not! Do get in touch with Astrids owner-just put in Astrid in the top box of search engine and keep the others clear. this lady like you has been very upset-her dog from DN postcode was stolen last summer-this week she set up a website devoted to Astrid and immediately got local press coverage-and The Television is now interested-get in touch-she as you need support and more importantly COVERAGE-one on their own is not a story-TOGETHER-you can make a difference! Trust me!

Have noticed a Westie for rehoming (bitch aged 5yrs) advertised with Emerson's Home Rescue based in Herefordshire. I have no idea how old the ad is, but could be worth looking into. I found it on: http://mysite.freeserve.com/rescue/ and then hit the 'dog and puppies' box. You may have already seen the ad, in which case I apologise as I don't want to get anyone's hopes up or waste anyones time!

Hace spoken to owner and she had a possible sighting of a man walking 2 Westies by a lady who had seen one of our posters up in the local vets-she went back to the vets and phoned owner who immediately went across to Burringham near Scunthorpe to put some posters up.

Try sending letters daily to the chief constable, if he gets pestered enough by you he might actually pass the job on to someone lower down and tell them to do something just to get you off his back! If that gets nowhere ask for an appointment to see him. I know that when I wrote to my MP about some personal stuff they did nothing, but I only had to make one appointement to see him and suddenly it became a priority ;-) By the day of my appointment they had got all the stuff sorted and ready so they could pretend they had been doing something. however I looked at the dates of the letters and it was all done AFTER I booked the appointement. I bet the police hirachy work in a similar way.

thanks eris, we've sent an e-mail asking for more details, have to wait now and see whats comes from it we've come to the conclusion that the police are not going to follow up the leads given to them, they seem quite happy to believe the stories that the boys have given them, even though those stories seem to change with the wind!!

Spoke to the owner this morning..oh she is still so devestated...the police won't do anything, she is frustrated and very upset.She feels like she is hitting her head against a brick walk with the police..they don't seem to act on any information given! I am sure with the work and commitment they will hear something soon!! Fingers are crossed!!

Thank you Belle for posting- i know a lot of people do not post unless they have information-however the dog owners need to be reassured that there are people out there that are keeping their eyes open and dedicated to getting these dogs back. We have over 800,000 hits a month on site-why are so many people just seeing and not posting?Come on everyone let the owners know you are monitering their progress-and looking out for the dogs!

Is there any more news on the girls? I am still looking out for them and hope that you find out where they have ended up. Would it be worth offering these lowlifes a reward for the safe return of them and only giving it to them if you get them back. They obviously want money for whatever but dangle it in front of their noses and it mayjust work.

Personally I would give them away! You are so right-it is all about getting enough money for their next fix-and what better way than nicking a dog when you can get away Scot free and know that in the majority of cases the police do not want to investigate. This problem and pain is going to get worse and worse unless the Police ACT!!!

Youths seem to be involved in a lot of these dog-knappings. I suppose it is because they have nothing else better to do. Shame someone doesn't kidnap these sort of people and sell them on- to somewhere not very nice. Liz xxx

thank you mrs dixon we didnt think of the citizen advice but it worth a try. just wish the youths would say who they sold them to we would paid for them back gladly or get them a westie i just would like mine back its like someone selling my baby and the police dont see that and its not right sorry going on again and thank you all for your surport

we understand now that jazzie and rosie were picked up by youths in the area on sunday 21st, we have given the names of those youths to the police and we still seem to be waiting for them to act on it, we have now been told that the youths sold them on out of the area what we cant find out is if the area is just intake or doncaster itself so can all doglost helpers in all areas in south yorkshire please look out for them thank you

Printed out the poster. I am going to flyer it in my area DN6 where it is known travellers live. I am also tagging details onto my new batch of flyers for my dog. let's hope it helps. doncaster star said it may be in paper tomorrow, thursday.

Please tell Rosie & Jazzy' owner that I will look out around Doncaster for them. I also run a flyball team in Doncaster and will ask other owners as well. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you. Have you called the dog warden? Unless there is local publicity he may not know about them. Worth a call to him. I think his number is accessible via DMBC switchboard 01302 734444. I had a dog stolen , nearly 4years ago now. The Doncaster Free Press, Advertiser and Star all covered the story. Trax FM also put out on air. Thankfully she was found 4 days later dumped in a wheelie bin very near to my house. There is hope and people who will help. Please contact them and I am sure that they will help if they can.

We have alerted helpers in the Brighouse area who will look out for Rosie and Jazzy. Owner has had a few calls over the weekend that all suggest the dogs are still in Doncaster and very close.
