The owner has cancelled the search tomorrow. With no sightings, they feel Asha may have moved out of the area.

No further sightings of Asha. As the possible sightings are not yet 100% as Asha, I have suggested that the family make contact with the rescue centres again as she may have been handed in after the Easter holiday. Need to cover all options. Searchers will continue at Eaglesham area where she went missing.

No sightings of Asha today (as yet). The family and helpers are gearing to camp out tonight and get the barbecues going and hopefully tempt her out. The weather is absolutely awful with lots of snow. Fingers crossed for a result x

Latest update from Claudia via LDG @ 13.30 2/4: "Hi, last sighting 5pm last night farmers think she could be heading towards clarkston/Newton mearns as they were out all night and no sheep disturbed x".
DogLostSandra Watt
Asha is still missing ..the dog handed in was not her ☹ The search goes on back near the kennels.

The owner has visited SSPCA and they have checked their central records and they have no record of a dog of Asha's description picked up in Eaglesham yesterday. However, there is another company who use similar vehicles Scottish Animal Welfare but their phone number is not working, the owner has sent them an email but no-one knows where they take their animals (waiting game). So the search goes on, don't know if Asha has been picked up or she is still missing near the kennels. Lost Dogs Glasgow facebook site are working fabulously to find Asha. The facebook site is

Hi we have just been out for an hour and a half looking in the area, we know the area well so looked in most likely places, we met with the dog owner and they were heading away as it was dark. Difficult when its dark and the weather is not going to be great overnight, hopefully an Akita can get through the cold night and will be located very soon.

There's a drone man just arrived on site - fingers crossed for a sighting.

Jenny - the farmer is aware and actually on board helping. The kennels have been told to help but not being very supportive. There are several people helping with the search including Harveys Army. The owner has sent a request to Drone SAR as the area has lots of fields with little houses.

Can someone get to the Farmer and explain ?The Kennels need to get out and look for her

I am removing the comment about the farmer shooting dogs as the local farmer has just posted on facebook that this is not true and they are keeping a look out for her, however the kennels seem to have lost several dogs. Here is the facebook link for missing Asha

Sorry to see that ASHA MISSING FOR A YEAR is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (127350)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
