12.06.08 - sophy23 Thank you for all your help sorry i haven't rung you back yet been very busy!! We have tried all these things they have been in local newspapers with their photos but nobody has heard anything!!  Which makes us think they were probably stolen or picked up, the police do know and the dog wardens are still aware!!  I am going to do some more postering this weekend...how far afield should i go? we've gone about 20 miles radius! Will try to call you back tomorrow! Thank you for your advice! Fingers are still crossed for their safe return!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

11.06.08 - Reynard - Area Co-ordinator North Wilts So sorry to hear Molly is missing should a dog go feral it is thought they travel in a triangular pattern and then you should do scenting within this triangle but you really need a sighting for that to work well. If not already please poster like mad print off 100+, poster everywhere so that everyone knows Molly is missing put posters up in Shops, Pubs, Scrap Yards outside Travellers Camps, Parks and hand out posters to dog walkers as well. Speak to the local postmen and visit your local sorting office and ask them to display a poster. Also try to 'collar' the local milkman and farmers. Pubs are good places to target. ask the manager to display a poster, speak to as many of the regulars as possible. Display Molly?s poster in your car and do try and contact other owners of missing dogs as may be able to poster a wider area for you. Check out Dog Wardens Pounds and other Rescues often, please do not rely on them to check for you as many dogs are ?lost? daily, so they are not able to remember all of them. Also contact DW and Rescues out side of your area. Please post regular updates so that the helpers in your area know where & what has been covered and then are able to help effectively and please also click on Find Any Vet and send your posters off. Good Luck! I did call you and left a message should you want to call me back.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Bess 'n' Barneys Mum 11.06.08 Oh what a lovely girl.   It does seem from reading about other dogs on this site that after a while they can turn feral - I guess they go into survival mode.   Have you been in contact with the local rescue centres and dog wardens?   The power of the poster has also been proved, make her too hot to handle, and if she has been taken in it only needs that one person to see and be in contact.   Other dogs have turned up after longer than this.....meantime please be safe, gorgeous girl...Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Will call the owners tomorrow and se how they are getting on - did ask them to post on DL to keep us informed but I suspect they are too busy searching. Basingstoke DW who is probably fed up with me calling her about Maggie, knows about as well. Suggested owners speak to Test Valley and gave them contact name and other stuff as well. Also asked a friend down that way to warn some farmers as it's getting close to lambing - here's hoping there's some good news soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I Talk to the DW this morning she is aware of the dogs and is keeping her eyes open for them, hope there is some sightings soon, is there any travelers sights near by that need posting close to the sight also if owner could ask the council about liaison officer could go in. Sorry - not sure why I was going on a bout Doberman type when I ment Rottweiler - blond moment! ADMIN - would it be possible to put the three missing dogs together on one poster - might save the owner a bit of time when sticking them up - just an idea. Also I asked Owner to keep posting on DL to update everyone and gave them a couple of contact numbers and pointers.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

OK - spoken to owner. Seems these three escaped through a dog flap and have completely vanished - possibly picked up though who would want to approach a Doberman type is anyones guess. Advised owner to get those posters up in as wide an area as possible, get onto press, highways agency etc. He seems OK for help at the moment but offered if he needs it. Will poster around where I walk (should set up a permanent board really) - fingers crossed these three are still together and will be found soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

What a lovely girl make her and the others hot lots of posters up, also if there is farms near you please make sure you let the farmers know as it is lambing and the farmers do not take kindly for dogs staying on to the farm. they well be hold up some where and are coming out at night just before in gets dark also early morning. I hope you get these lovely dogs home soon. it would be a good idea to get the local DW in on this she is a very helpful lady I thin her name is Zoe but if you get in touch with the council they would know this, also all the rescues in the area contact them and send poster. I live not far from Kings Sombourne and I was walking my dogs near there today, the village is in a rural area, and it would help to know which part they were last seen. A local farmer owns over 600 acres of farmland in Kings Sombourne I wonder if he has been notified. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
