Although I can't find it now, a previous post suggested Blondie may have altered her routine having been spooked by well meaning public chasing her....and that this led her to the A329.
It's just caring instinct to try and save them this way, and most don't realise their kindness can be seen as a threat. Even if it doesn't end the way it did for poor Blondie, it can force a change in the dog's newly established routines - making it harder for us to help them.
Would it be possible to have a request not to pursue the lost dog on future posters?
Many thanks.

Photo provided of the dog sighted on Tuesday morning in Farley Hill RG7 1UD and sent to Animal Warden to see if assists with any ID.

Animal Warden states she believes it is the same dog whilst body was disrupted. She has agreed I may now update the FB postings of her or direct people to this dedicated page.

Please would an Admin now assist with marking Blondie’s status accordingly. I have today applied for formal DL Volunteer status.Last edited: 2017-12-21 18:46:07

Following a tragic accident involving a cream Lurcher (possibly Blondie) and a vehicle in the early hours of Thursday 21st December, we are sad to report that the dog did not survive the accident. The relevant parties have been made aware.
Thank you to the local community for their vigilance and continued reporting of sightings.

Hi salli do we know if this has been confirmed as blondie really hope not keep looking for updates thankyou for everything you have been doing

From anon via PM:

Hi Salli the dog down 9 Nine Mile Ride is a different dog. I took it to Nine Mile Ride Vets and it belongs to gypsies, dog warden has been informed. I haven't posted this on FB as don't want to have any trouble from the gypsies. Nine Mile Ride Vets said the dog warden has found a dog that was run over that she believes is the other lurcher that everyone is looking for, unfortunately this one did not make it. Maybe call them to confirm?

Late sighting report for Tuesday.

'It was at our place in Farley Hill on Tuesday. Shivering and very thin.
We fed it and tried to get it to warm up with a blanket but it ran off. I think it came back later for more food.'

Late sighting report. Yesterday;

'Saw this dog running towards Wokingham going past Kalikose hairdressers around 2 ish. Hadn’t seen that she was missing so I’ll keep an eye out n I’ve always got a spare lead n treats in my car from my dogs. I’ll try n catch her if I see her again xxxx'

❌❌vols: my other concern is the increasing number of FB pages about Blondie. We need to ensure all info is being captured and fed to a more central point. It's making data very difficult to collate at the moment.
I've put comments on several already to post on just 2 places: this page and Blondie's thread on Drone SAR ground search for LD.
Any help or advice as to how we contain all these pages so we don't miss any important info????

Another sighting dated yesterday (Wed 20th)

'Oh I saw her yesterday about 5.45 yesterday at the top of Barkham Road, but couldn’t stop. Updated with clarity: Yes of course, she was at the end near Edneys Hill just before you go up the hill to Bearwood Rd x She was heading towards Bearwood rd/Barkham direction.
Really hope she gets found soon xxx'

Posted to 'We Love Bracknell' large FB Group considering potential new area.

Are the Highways Agency and Network Rail aware?
One known report to Police on 101 last night.

Op Galileo details read/noted muttmummy.our Animal Warden does know similar looking dogs in Finchampstead and Arborfield that have got loose previously too.Last edited: 2017-12-21 09:06:10

Oh my word! If these sightings are indeed of Blondie, she's change her routine - at least that's how it seems from sightings we've received. Very worried for her safety now.
Am currently updating sightings map so need all vols to update here any sightings they've noted not recorded here.
Gill, any advice on what we do now?
So worried for her.
❌Can I just add to the mix that (and this is just MY view based on additional info I've found elsewhere), that Blondie is possibly a hare coursing dog...as I think is the other lurcher recently mistaken for Blondie 22 miles away. A police operation called Galileo recently made several arrests of hare coursing dog owners and siezed several dogs. One man arrested but since released is from Wokingham. I'm thinking Blondie, her lookalike and maybe other lurcher type dogs may be hare coursers caught up in Operation Galileo. So, there could be more like Blondie roaming not just locally but much further afield. Operation Galileo covers a huge area.Last edited: 2017-12-21 08:55:56 by Trinket

Farley Hill stands out as one hotspot at the moment.
I'll update and post a sightings map this morning.

Several volunteers and admins have discussed Blondie's case.
Given Blondie's breed and her tendency to bolt, the vast area she's frequenting and the rural terrain involved, we've agreed the following:
Place posters locally asking for sightings only and no attempts to capture Blondie.
Alert local businesses.
Monitor and analyze Blondie's movements and routines so we can isolate best areas and rescue methods to target.
Trinket
Have read all posts referring to Blondie's case, and have roughly plotted majority of sightings to get an idea of the area she's covering and type of terrain etc.
It's actually quite vast volume-wise and mostly rural terrain.
I've been chatting to Salli Scott most of the evening and we're both of the opinion ground searches by DogsLost volunteers aren't practical at this point. The sightings are dotted around a huge area that Blondie seems to cover at speed. Much of the rural terrain gives her the advantages of easy escape from capture, as well as good food sources for a hunting dog. Background info suggests she may well be used to outdoor living and so, whilst clearly scared, she has the resilience many lost dogs do not. That, coupled with her breed, makes her a tough dog to corner.
Contact with the animal warden suggests we are unable to work directly with the owner which will further complicate matters....having to relay everything through the warden.
There appears, we think, to be a sensitive nature to the case which prevents us being privvy to essential details that aid in searches....including Blondie's background and events leading up to her becoming lost.
Obviously Blondie's welfare and rescue is paramount, but ground searches by DogsLost volunteers may add no positive influence under the circumstances.
Advice as to where we go from here would be much appreciated.

I stopped and tried to coax her into car but as I got close she ran off. 2 teenagers ran after her with treats and a leash in the hopes of helping her. She's looking very thin"
