Yes I agree with milly's mum. Do see if you can thank them personally. I made a very good friend doing the same after I found a dog and homed him for three weeks before to owners tuned up. They were distraught and the tears flowed when they saw him. We're still friends which is lovely. So do find them and reward them for their kindness PLEASE. Very best wishes and again Welcome home Kilo. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Like everyone else, I am SO happy to hear that Kilo is back home safe and sound. Of course, as always a HUGE thank you to the wonderful, caring staff at Battersea and also to the lovely person (or people) who found him. I agree with peaches 101, Kilo does have THE most gorgeous face and those eyes - quite beautiful! tinkerbell & Mohamed, were you able to find out about Kilo's finders? It would be so nice to be able to let them know that he is home and how much you appreciated what they did. Also glad to hear that Kilo received a nice, new shiny tag to compliment his chip as a welcome present!!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Great news, very happy for you that KILO is home! don't Battersea do a great job. Btw London helpers - it was Evening Standard sellers I meant not Big Issue sellers... the ES guys and gals tend to have the same pitch for many years, and get to know their own little patch really well. They are always worth chatting to and some like Mary are real dog people... I always knew to where to find my girl if she escaped!! Mind you I'm sure all those sugary biscuits shortened her life a few years ^(Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Fantastic news! Kilo's owners: am so happy for you. Have a lovely re-union at Battersea. I used to work opposite Batttersea Dogs Home and every Monday morning we would see the sad vans rolling in with all the poor lost and unwanted dogs collected from the London police stations after the weekend. Lucky Kilo to have a home to go home to . . . (maybe this is why I have ended up with a kitchen full of little rescue mongrels!) Px Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Is Kilo insured as the pet insurance normally covers the costs of advertising, posters, reward, etc. and the mention of a reward just might encourage someone to come forward. Good to hear that Corbiere and patsy have some great local knowledge, including details of 'Irish Mary' who sells the Evening Standard at Gloucester Rd Tube Station. She sounds just the person to get 'on the case', as they is very little these lovely people don't know! But still hoping that you get a result with Battersea.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Eyes crossed too here... no not as usual either. If no news then we should continue with the search helpers. Corbiere good idea about the big issue sellers, I know they helped out a few times before with London dogs missing. Do you have any contacts in the area still you could email perhaps? Anyone travelling up on the tube at all could hand some out to the sellers at these stations? Sue xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

PS Homeless people tend to congregate around Notting Hill tube station[esp int he undergorund pass], in case any of them have picked him up, also Ken High St and Gloucester Rd tube, and all the takeaways and all night shops, in case any of them have picked him up. I noticed on a recent visit that IRISH MARY is still selling the Evening Std at Glouc Rd tube - she is dog mad and will display posters, hand out leaflets and keep a lookout for you. Worth asking all the other Standard sellers between you and the park - you'd be amazed what they notice on their own small patchLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hope this is Kilo, will check in tomorrow and see, if not I have a few ideas. I lived v close to Gloucester Rd tube and walked my dog every day around the area. If not him he should be safe in the park for the night...Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you all for everyones help on tryin gto get Kilo home!! I am just hoping that the dog the police were talking about is Kilo and that we will find him tomorrow at battersea dogs home or hear from them soon! Unfortunately the police didnt have any contact details or details of where he was found or even what breed he is. All they were able to tell me is that someone called in saying they found a black dog and that they would take him to battersea dogs home tomorrow. im just hoping!! that this is Kilo... I was out looking for him in the park when I saw a dog walker and asked her if she had seen a black dog and she immediately replied asking if it was a staffie? and he does have minor scars above his eye which she mentioned but she thought he was with a family that had a border terrier because he was following them so hopefully these are the people that called in to the police station and that it is him. For now we have been calling police stations every few hours, called RSPCA, battersea dogs home, the Hyde Park police, we put posters covering knightsbridge, south kensington, high street kensington, exhibiton road, prince's Gardens, the park/graveyard behind the brompton oratory... but no calls yet. Thank you so much everyone! seriously! he really means a lot to us! xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Jayne: found it - Chichi, stolen outside shops in Holland Park Avenue on 2nd Dec - runited 7 Dec '07. Kilo's owners: maybe worth contacting Chichi's owner to see if her dogwalker could help you as north of the park and not too far away. PxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Jayne: I was thinking of a little tan crossbreed, stolen by a street person/beggar outside shops in Holland Park and recaptured by dogwalker on a bike! Some time before Christmas. PxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Do hope it is him. Can I sugest you deliver posters to Knightsbridge Barracks this evening (you'll have to hand them in to the guard on duty on the carriage drive road in the park). Try to get a poster to the stables and a poster to the officers mess - many walk heir dogs early in the morning as well as the troopers going out on ealy morning excercise with the horses. Also, Royal Mews go out on excercise at crack of dawn, so try to get poster to hem. Have you targetted professional dog walkers? Jayne: didn't we have an owner in Holland Park who recently got her dog back via her dog walker? Cannot remember the name? she may help?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

thank you so much patsy. We couldn't find him...So we called notting hill police station. They said that someone called in 2 hours ago (this was said 30 mins ago) with a 'black dog' and they are going to put him in battersea dogs home tomorrow. That was all the info they could give us.... I hope its kilo. I just couldn't understand how it could be him, seeing as the dog walker who saw kilo said that she saw him 10-15 minutes ago, which was said close to the time we called notting hill station. But the dog walker said he was with a family, so hopefully they called earlier on and had decided to keep him until tomorrow....... Lets HOPE its him...we'll find out tomorrow....thanks for all your support!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Kerry wonderful to see you are able to help, we are short of people in that area. Hope Jack is recovered from his ordeal. Any way of networking and letting others know in the vicinity would be great. Patsy we bow to your knowledge of the area and anyone you have that way who can help. The park rangers are a must for contact, even if the gates were closed last night he could still wander in there. The sooner they are advised the better. Kerry there are smaller posters available at the info sight if you are able to take them with you in Hyde Park? Rottienstaffs thanks for your support for owner too. I live on Queen's Gate and am always out and about in the area and in Hyde Park. My brother is in Ennismore Gardens Mews and is out looking now. Have you tried the little park behind Brompton Oratory? I have emailed all my friends in the area and will keep my eyes open, and am also happy to poster Hyde Park and around South Ken - please let me know what you have already done so i can be most productive. You can contact me on 07966 160089 if it is easier. It might also be worth contacting RBKC/City of Westminster to ask their council workers (street cleaners, garbage men, etc) to keep an eye out. I am off to Hyde Park now to look for him. I know how hard it is, but stay strong - Kilo is out there on his way home! Take care, Kerry.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

hey patsy.....we are next to the science museum, opposite it, just a bit further up. We're next to the imperial college health center (Ethos). Kilo was out in the garden next to our house left STUPIDLY unsupervised by someone....he ran out from there....When this has happened before, we found him down exhibition road closer to south kensington tube station...and another time he went up exhibition road towards the park. But last night, the park gates were closed...So i really don't know where he's gone... Me and my sister (tinkerbell5788) have put up 55 posters around the area... I've called rspca, battersea dogs home, and will try call vets tomorrow............thanks everyone for being so concerned for KILO!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I lived in this area in my London days, so know it pretty well and still have contacts there. Owner: which end of Exhibition Road did Kilo go missing? North or south of Cromwell road?/near Hyde Park??or near S. Ken tube?). All this would help in knowing which areas to target. good luck in your search. Sue W: have sent you an email. Have spoken to owner and offered advice on postering. He has put up some posters already and has printed some more. He has some people who are helping to poster but if there is anyone else in the area able to help then im sure this would be most appreciated. I explained that i am in East London/ Essex but if my help is needed i will try my best to secure childcare to go and help poster. Owner will be contacting other authorities on Monday. Owners are doing all the right things to get Kilo home. No sightings as yet. Come on Kilo, show yourself please baby. Your family love you and want you home!! xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

tinkerbell5788 & Mohamamed Al-mulla - so sorry to hear that Kilo is missing. It is essential that you also cover ALL pubs both near and far from where Kilo went missing. If you can, visit them at lunchtime or early evening when they tend to be less busy and ask the Manager to display Kilo's poster. Also speak to as many of the regulars/customers as possible and give them copies of the mini-posters. If it is easier/cheaper, these mini-posters can be just photocopied in black & white but onto BRIGHT orange paper (or a similar very bright colour). The regulars in the pubs will have lots of local contacts and will be a mine of information. Unfortunately, so many of our dogs (sadly, especially Satffies) are traded on via pubs. Place the large coloured posters in your car windows and ask your family, friends, neighbours and work colleagues to do the same. Also, make sure that your local postal sorting office displays posters of Kilo and leave several mini-posters for the posties to carry with them. Poster like mad and make Kilo the hottest boy in town. Place mini-posters on windscreens of parked cars and also do the same in supermarket car parks. Also hand out the mini-posters to commuters using the underground stations, as you will cover a lot of people all gathered in one place! I'm keeping just about everything crossed that Kilo is back home with you very soon. Good Luck!!! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
