having sent donation i received letter from rspca today Chino, as this lovely belgian shepherd is now known, has had to have his leg amputated. she is now at their rehoming centre where she is now settled and ready to be rehomed. she is a very happy dog and not at all bothered by having 3 legs.
Doglover
Any news on this dog please xx

I have a police contact who has contacts in RSPCA and trying to find out more on this for me. Will update when hear more.
Shelagh
Well think more likely to update if dog lost admin request info.
DogLostNina
Do you think RSPCA would update doglost on the situation
Doglover
I have shared this to Paw Helping dogs in need as this dog could have come from anywhere and been dumped....poor thing...so,pleased in safe hands now. X
Shelagh
Cj I have sent poster to local vets. Only had one reply as weekend. RSPCA may not reveal any info if it is an open investigation.
BigGSDPatlucky
I know it is a minor detail but it is a Cannula that was in her leg
So I have changed it from Catheter to Cannula

I think that before we make any comments need to get full facts. I would ask first of all was this dog microchipped as i am sure RSPCA would check this. Have local vets been asked if recently had this breed of dog in their surgery and would agree with Shelagh that no vets would discharge a dog with a catheter attached - so did it escape from a vets somehow?
If under the care of the RSPCA i am hoping they are trying to see first of all if there is an owner out there and in mean time using their funds to pay for any treatment.
Has Putney RSPCA been asked if an owner has been found and current update on situation as this is now a week ago.
Shelagh
I have emailed poster to local vets

with 5 rescues already (one through doglost.co.uk) i cant adopt her, so i have sent a cheque instead to rspca putney animal hospital

We cannot guess what the dog was in the vet for
This dog has a paralyzed front leg and it might not be saved

poster is not coming out?? no photo of dog either just discription
mathers22
How awful, I thought at first that this poor dog had escaped from the Vets but just looked and she was found on the 8th so that seems unlikely now. I hope she is ok xx

disgusting, if they cannot afford the vet fee they could have taken it to PDSA, BLUE CROSS or one of the many others and explained ... not just tie it up in someones garden and leave it there all night... sharing to all the sites i am a member of
BigGSDPatlucky
She was tied up in some ones garden
So my first guess is the owner could not afford the vet bill
However you never know some one could have stolen it then tied it up
Some very sick people out there
I am not going to guess
Hope the vet sees this poster
Fingers crossedLast edited: 2017-07-15 09:46:20 by Patlucky

Surely they can find vets who treated her? Vets would have record of owner! Can't imagine vets would release dog to anybody with catheter still fitted!!!!
BigGSDPatlucky
To pay out for treatment then dump them is beyond belief
This dogs leg may have to be amputated
I just hope someone knows the owner and they get caught
NickyB
this takes humanity to beyond my understanding - abandoning your clearly very very sick dog - the fact the dog was thrown away in a very public place hopefully means he/she will be survive. if, and its very very unlikely, owner traced their punishment will be no punishment - no government seems to care about animal welfare
