Just spoken to Helenna. She is still actively looking for Chester. They had a possible match sent to them from another lost dog web site but sadly it was not him. She has recently updated her posters and her uncle, who is a lorry driver, hands out posters on his travels.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just spent 2 hours walking the lanes and fields around Thoresby with my husband but no luck. We put some food down on a track I think he is using and went back an hour later but it hadn't been eaten. It is so frustrating to think he could be so close but not showing himself. Will go back again tomorrow, I will not give up on this little fella that's a promise. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Had a long chat with Helena, they are doing a brilliant job searching for Chester and have very good support. Sending SCENTING and MAPPING instructions to them. Helena thanks for recommending DL to Winston & Marley SBT's HU6 owners. Good luck and hope you get Chester back soon. Jan x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just got back from North Thoresby my uncle and aunt on foot with Chesters companion Charlie and us in the car asking dog walkers and anybody else we could find even poor pople up ladders putting christmas decorations up but no luck. Have come home to have some dinner and my uncle going back later this afternoon as alot of the sightings have been late afternoon/early evening. We think he must be getting fed somewhere for him to stay around this area.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Ashmark & Carley you have been doing a fantastic job helping Chester's owners search for him, great when there are helpers local to physically help with the postering etc. Have tried to ring owners but they are most probably out searching, will try and catch them later. We searched for ages last night but both our torches ran out of battery life. If they don't find him this morning I will go over again tonight armed with plenty of batteries and some food. Wish us luck. AlisonLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Do we know what happened between 8th November and 3rd December? Were the Police, Warden and Rescue kennels contacted over that time? Was just wondering if Chester may have ended up with one of these has had already gone on to another home before we all got searching? Where did he actually vanish from? Perhaps he is nearer home as he is trying to make his way back?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi. I have spent most of today searching for Chester with my own dogs keeping me company. Thought I had a sighting in my own paddock when I saw a white behind dissappearing through the hedge, only to discover it was next doors Jack Russell once again. Just a thought but I know if its not pelting with rain or too windy, the local agility club meet on Fulstow playing fields Sunday mornings at 9.30am. Can anyone them a poster - only I am out all sunday and cannot get there? I know the handlers are from all over the local villages. Any other dog training clubs around? I think one meets in Louth on a Sunday morning also but I dont know about Grimsby area. Hurry up back Chester - its getting cold!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi all. Yes was so excited yesterday had the car running ready but anyway its is very comforting to know people are watching out for him. He is due his booster injection this week so it would be great if we could find him. I know he would love the christmas decorations that are been put up and would try and wreck as many as he could. His birthday is on the 23rd december so it would be a great birthday and christmas present for him to be back home safe. Also he lives with a retreiver Charlie who is missing him so much.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We had some false hope yesterday when a man in Covenham rang Helen to say he had found her dog. It turned out to be the local electricians dog but he is identical to Chester. Helen was worried in case this was the same dog that had been seen in Thoresby but after a lot of questioning we were able to establish that it couldn't have been the electricians dog that was seen in Thoresby so the search is still on. Good news is the finder of this other dog has kindly offered to poster Covenham and he and his mates will spread the word for us. Good to know there are so many caring people out there. I'm now going out to have a walk round with one of my spaniels then I won't be back on line until Sunday as my son is coming over from Germany this weekend. However if there is a sighting please don't hesitate to call me on 01507 363696 as I know he will understand.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just got back in with my dogs but no sign of Chester. Have spread the word to some of my old work mates and they are going to pass the word around. I am unable to help over the weekend as I have visitors but a nice man called Stewart has offered to print off a 100 posters and distribute them for us. Once I have dried out I am going to have a drive around the back roads of Tetney and Holton-Le-Clay is there anyone who can go in the opposite direction towards Louth, if not I will try to do that side on the morning. There is a disused railway track that runs through all of the villages and he may be making his way down there. Let's hope he shows himself soon so we can get him home where he belongs.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Forgot to say - do keep ringing the dog warden and the police - they do get sick of you but sometimes it can jog memories. When one of mine took off on the wolds many years ago, the dog had been reported as found by a local farmer, but somehow 'somebody' had forgotten to let me know!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi - Yes I have been looking half the day. The poster has also been shown to our customers today, two of which had already seen it elsewhere so word must be getting around. I just wish someone would find him. I am at Grimsby Dog Grooming College tomorrow - lots of locals go in there - I will take a poster in with me. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi. I am Helen and its my uncle's dog Chester who's gone missing. I will update daily but i must warn you i am a computer phobic but my uncles computer is down so will do my best. No more sightings since saturday. I went over today but it is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Have rung all the vets in Grimsby and left a message for the dog warden. Please ring with any news big or small. Thankyou for all your kind messages and a big thankyou to Alison for all your hard work. Hopefully will have some good news soon. Pets at home said they have been told not to display posters any more, not very forward thinking for a pet shop. Left the poster on the counter anyway. Have also driven round nearby villages and left a few posters with a lovely lady who said she will spread the word among her neighbours and the local farmers. Thanks for contacting the Grimsby telegraph Keelah. Mandiemoo the vets you mentioned haven't been contacted yet. If you could do that for me I would be very grateful. Can't go out anymore today (unless we get a sighting) but I will take poster to dog training and hand them out. Jayne, I got the e-mail and have replied. I am going to ring Chesters family now and try to get an update.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Great - yes I have been out for a drive, and will have another look in the morning once its light again. If you spot him and need help catching, just call me at the kennels and I will be out. I have shown the poster to all out customers today and will do until he is found. Their range covers Louth to Grimsby and many of the villages inbetween. Lets hope it is good news soon!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Small world Carley I live in Fulstow too. Just been out again and handed out posters to the vet, dog warden, local school, post office, the New Inn pub and several people in Thoresby. Have popped home to print off more posters and to run the vacuum cleaner over the carpets. Will go out again as it gets dark. Have left my home number with several people as I can be in the village in 5 minutes.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi. I am justdown the road from North Thoresby in the next village of Fulstow. I own the boarding kennels here. If people see stray dogs, they often try to hand them in to us, or we get a call as to where they should take the dog. None so far but will keep alert. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just spoken to a member of Chesters family. Chester is about the size of a field spaniel, he is mainly white with a black patch over one eye (L), he has 2 black ears and a distinctive black patch where his tail joins his bottom. The lady told me she had sent pictures of Chester yesterday so I am just waiting for them so I can go and poster the area. Has anyone recieved them yet?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Jayne this is only two miles from me. I know the village well as I used to work in the Spa there. My post code is LN11 so if you have any helpers with that post code please forward them a poster. Have we any idea what size this little dog is. I will go over there in the morning and have a good look. It is a quiet village but the A16 passes very close by and it is a busy, fast road so he needs to be caught soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
