- This is fantastic news, though very frightening that such people will go to considerable lengths to snatch a dog and take it abroad presumably to sell.
It is also very good to learn that our local vets are keeping an eye on this site and watching for suspicious activity!!!
Marks and Spencer get no brownie points. - 2017-06-08 19:10 Mary
- Well done CJ and the Vets. Welcome home Butler. Still some work for the police to do here, to apprehend these dog thieves.

- GREAT NEWS REUNITED !!! Just had update from owner
first of all A vet in west hampstead just had butler in but let him go! they're claiming they find him a week ago in south ken but we have cctv of him being stolen yesterday and the guy that took him to the vet meets the cctv description. They trying to get a passport for him from what the vet gathered.
So owner advised to get vets to hold dog if he came back which he did!!
A guy fitting the description of the guy on CCTV stealing him went in a vet in West Hampstead with a blond lady(they posed as a couple and smelled of alcohol) and said they had found him on the street a week ago and wanted to get him checked and keep him, when they were told they were cought on cctv stealing him they said they wanted my details to contact me to make a "deal". The vet had already taken Butler away from them and told them the police was contacted so the ran away. The guy was about 6 foot, borderline balled and they said they thought he might be middle eastern. They said the lady could have been wearing a wig and they were acting very shady and the veterinarian said he actually feared for his safety a bit so be careful. The assigned officer to the case has yet to speak to the Vet and still hasn't seen the CCTV even though they were assigned to me at 10 o'clock and I've been to the station twice already.
BRILLIANT WORK BY THE VETS ! - 2017-06-08 13:48 CJ - Police Liaison & SE Regional Coordinator
- sent an email with suggestions re the CCTV. I will switch to stolen then start to share this on FB and twitter. I will also send out to a picture link on twitter and tag to various contacts.
- 2017-06-08 09:26 annvp89
- Talked to the police, the case hasn't even been assigned to an officer yet so god knows when the tape will be seen or any action will be taken.
- 2017-06-08 08:10 annvp89
- Update: After 20 hours Marks and Spencers finally looked at CCTV and you can see a man dragging butler away. Their excuse: the cctv guy wasn't in. So if a child had been taken CCTV guy couldn't of been called in? What a disgrace. No signs outside notifying of previous theft in the past week either.

Maybe contact Nikki PR at Doglost see iff there is a possibilty of getting newspaper interest? Email admin@doglost.co.uk to ask. - 2017-06-07 23:18 Mary
- annvp89 - You need to get a CRN from the Police and send it to DogLost so this can be upgraded to stolen.

- With that sort of attitude it's no wonder their clothes are rubbish these days! They must have smaller brains than the scumbag theives. Can you tweet about how they can't be bothered to heLp you? Or post on their Facebook page about how upset you are they won't? Public embarrassment often works. Alternatively demand to speak to the manager if you aren't already, ring head office, and look for other shops with cctv. Best to email the crn to Doglost.

- Hey Charlie and Sooty, the crime incident number is CAD3819!. Nina, Marks and Spencer's keep on incisting that the camera angle wouldn't show the thieve and I've told them that it might of gone pass with the dog and their answer to that was well if I was a thief I would walk the other way. We've asked about 4 times now.

- Cheeky, I am sure the owns were are distraught enough without your helpful comment...and it doesn't say he was tied up outside the shop he could have been taken off the owner. I walk regularly in a park near where I live, I could help myself to any number of dogs that are being walked by their owners who just amble along chatting to their mates not paying attention to their dogs...why is tying them up outside a shop less responsible than not keeping an eye on your dog when walking it?
- 2017-06-07 18:26 Nina
- Is there any CCTV that can be viewed to see who stole him
- 2017-06-07 18:21 cheeky
- when will people learn, in this day and age you cannot take your dog to the shops
- 2017-06-07 18:16 charlie and sooty
- annvp89...If this has been reported to police, please send CRN to Doglost and this can be updated to show stolen. Is there a description of person that stole Bulter? ....I have shared to various to make to hot too handle and tweeted....
- 2017-06-07 17:01 annvp89
