Hi, Checked out link below-not Kelly I'm afraid. I rang number in loot and left message will try again later, but the A493 is a long way from us and he is advertised as a working dog. I will follow it up further just in case though. Many thanks AlisonLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

One of my favourite breeds!! The sightings sound promising. Have you emailed a poster to vets as well? If you put 'vets directory' in google it's quite easy to get a long list of surgeries in all areas. Really hoping that she's home soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, Re. The recent sightings in Chester. Chester is about 5 or 6 miles away from where I live. However it is in England whereas I am in Wales. I have contated the dog wardens, police, kennels and rescue centres on both sides of the border. A lot of people come over this way to go to work (industrial estates nearby and British aerospace within a mile up the road), also there are lots of shopping centres in passing, so its plausible that kelly could be over toward Chester and nearby districts. I have visited the area where she was seen and will continue to go there until I find the dog that was reported to me. I really feel that someone has got her and is keeping hold of her because she is such a nice dog. I hope that if this dog is Kelly that the posters wont scare them off before I get a look at her. I realise that it might not be her. I would feel much better if I just knew that she was ok and being well looked after. I live in the Queensferry end of Mancot. In Crossways which is off Mancot Lane.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I just spoke to Capricorn again and they still have my details. It is true, like they said, that not many people would know what a wheaten looked like. However they seem to know the difference so thats good. Maybe my dad went on a bad day! ] The labradoodle was brought in by its owner and wasnt a stray so that explains why they didnt contact me.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Further sightings of what may be Kelly, include a couple of sightings of a wheaten being walked on the Meadows (earls eye) by River Dee, Chester. The persons who have seen this dog say that it is a new dog to the area, so could be her. Posters have been put up and residents are keeping an eye open for her. If I had "obtained" a dog from a dogs home or some other place and then saw "missing" posters I would have to contact owner of lost dog and confirm if it was theirs. It would bother my conscience just in case I had someones beloved family pet. So hopefully the people that have this wheaten on the Meadws will see posters and act the same way. Anyone in Chester area please keep a look out. I was in touch with Capricorn within a short time of Kelly going missing and they have my details. A friend was telling me that she had taken a labradoodle for a walk from there within the last week or so, with a view to adopting. I showed her a picture of Kelly on my phone but it wasnt her. Anyway as she was walking this dog a woman arrived and shouted at her saying she was having that dog!! I am disturbed that they havent been in touch with me about the labradoodle though as they are quite similar. My father adopted an old dog from there and after 2 or 3 years had to return him as he had a heart attack/stroke and couldnt look after the dog any longer. He told me that Sheila was so infuriated that the dog was returned, she wished him another heart attack- nice lady! So, my experience with capricorn has not been a good one.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

capricorn dont use e mail generally as they are a small rescue with a big intake. someone needs to physically go there and take a poster while having a look round.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, Weve all been ill with a virus last week so couldnt do much! Anyway I got a call from a lady who thinks she saw Kelly outside W H smith in Chester. She once owned a labradoodle and thought Kelly was one of those. She asked about "kelly" and they told her she was a soft coated wheaten terrier that they got from the dogs home!!! I chased this lead and contacted all dogs homes that are used by police and dog wardens in area. I ended up being referred to Manchester dogs home who did a thorough search of all dogs found since date kelly went missing there was the odd matching description but none were her. I was told by lady at Manchester that they hadnt had a wheaten there in all time she had worked there- 18 years!! This is the main dogs home for miles and collect dogs from chester wirral widnes runcorn ellesmere port and presumably all over manchester area. So maybe someone picked her up and saying they got her from dogs home to avoid suspicion! Im hoping to get kellys story in local free paper Chester Standard as widely circulated and pos get a mention on local radio station but Im afraid virus really knocked us about. I could also go into Chester myself next week and hand out leaflet or try and put up posters but I have found that many places have by-laws that prohibit putting up any posters. I may have to be sneaky and go into chester when its dark and just ignore bylaws! I will let you know how it goes. Still having problems with computer and have been unable to retrieve any of picture folders containing family photos including pics of Kelly. It feels like Im getting nowhere fast. I was able to read responses on your website and was touched that people care but I couldnt stay online long enough to reply. I typed out message but it wouldnt send without disconnecting. I'm doomed. I will let you know how I get on next week. Heres hoping we get a result X........e mail from owner. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
Mr Bojangle
just to say when our wheaten went missing the police had him listed as a found dog labx old english sheepdog !!! so it would seem that not many people know the breed so always worth checking anything that sounds like a maybe hope you find her soon TraceyLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Any news? I live about 6 miles away just over the english border. I'll have a drive up that way Saturday. Where in Mancot did she go missing? Hawarden or Queensferry end? It might be worth contacting local businesses, there are a few with quite a bit of land near there. i.e. British Aerospace.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have you checked the wirral council dog pound site: Contact them and send them a pic - I look at this quiet often and I'm sure I've seen similar dogs - could be my imagination but worth a try!!! http://www.wirral.gov.uk/Wirraldogs/DogsView.asp Hotline number: 0151 647 8799 E-mail: animalcontrol@wirral.gov.uk I say contact them and send a pic cause they don't relist all the dogs they rehome/are reclaimed so don't necessarily trust what's on the site. Hope he's returned home soon. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owner had sent photo but the dog is called Kelly not Cally as originally put on her page, so the picture should be on shortly, still no sightings of Kelly, but new posters will be put up once the picture is on site Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
