So relieved that Fire has been found and is safely back home again. Poor girl must have been so frightened. From owner:
"Fire has been found!!!! She was picked up by someone driving to work, she was running on the road a few miles from where she was attacked and ran from....
I've had a look at her and no injuries, some blood on her foot from a nail but no other injuries!!
Thank you all so much for the efforts and support!!!! Truly amazing.... "
Welcome home Fire!

I have asked Selmeston Cricket Club to post the dog lost link on their page, as well as the 'Bopeep Drivers Club'. Also emailed Bopeep Farmhouse (guesthouse) with poster.

It's ok, I have found correct email address now and have sent our Doglost advice to you.
I've seen the original post and this is the information on it:

"At 1845hrs my dog Fire, 4yr old tri colour border collie bitch, pricked ears.... was attacked by a dog and has bolted in Bopeep Lane, near Selmeston (near Polegate, East Sussex) she is microchipped, and has a collar with my details on...
She may be injured....
The dog that attacked her had no owner with it, it was a dark coloured docked pointer type....
I have seen this dog in the locality previously and it was chasing/worrying sheep! If anyone has lost such a dog, please be aware...
If found and seriously injured, please take to vet immediately and any expenses will be covered"

Dan Shaw (d-force): I'm so sorry to see that Fire has been attacked and is now lost. Please would you confirm that you are Fire's owner as I would like to send you our Doglost advice email but the address registered on this page is not correct. I will see if I can do a search for the right one but if not please update the page with the correct address asap. Thanks

Please bear in mind that most dogs will return to the place where you lost them from or will make their own way home (if close enough/know the route) so please try leaving bedding/ unwashed clothing (socks/tshirts work well) in that area so that Fire has some familiar scent to find and come back to. The idea is that she will have something that smells familiar to her to settle down with when she returns. Even after being attacked she may return there as that is where she last saw her owner. Dusk and dawn is the best time to listen for any sound of your dog.
I would suggest that you get as many posters out in the area as someone may have taken Fire in and if they see a poster they will be able to contact you. You can print them direct from Fire's poster page.
Posters are the best way of getting sightings so there can never be enough of them!
When you have any sightings or updates please comment on here so our helpers (some are not on Facebook) can see what the latest news on the search is.
Best of luck with your search.

Was Fire injured, to your knowledge, following the attack and would she be able to find her way home from where she went missing?
