To all fellow dog owners and enthusiasts thank you for all your help and good wishes in the quest to find Eddie and Alfie for us, gosh they did lead us on a merry dance!
Finding Alfie alive and well on Saturday evening was the best feeling and gave us and you such hope that we would find Eddie soon after. Sadly as you know we found Eddie yesterday so close to where we had all been walking and calling his name. I think that he just went to sleep and did not wake up, he looked very peaceful and had not been harmed.
He finished his life as he lived it in his dreams, chasing deer, rabbits and squirrels, we and his extended family will miss him hugely.
Thank you for all your lovely messages and for coming to help Best wishes Sue

So very sad to see this news. Thinking of owners & the community who worked so hard to find him. From the group - We've received very sad news this morning, Eddies body has been found near Suzies gate in Sulham. We are so grateful for everyone's help in finding him, we can now lay him to rest.

Possible sighting at Mapledurham Lock - he has been walked along the river before & it is fairly close to Sulham Woods where he ran off from. People have gone down to look for him but it is now dark. Fingers crossed it is Eddie

Thanks for all your help and input. I have handed out/posted lots of posters today and talked to a massive amount of people who have been very sympathetic.
A couple of sightings of Eddie and Alfie today but sadly no one got close enough to catch them, I guess they are pretty on edge. Perhaps carrying some dog treats would help (but who carries them on a day to day basis?)
First sighting at the bottom of Overdown Road towards the Oxford Road/ Tilehurst Station.

Second sighting at 4.30/5pm Eddie and Alfie or similar seen in Sulham Woods off Little Heath Road in the grassy area between the two bits of woodland
We went to check both out but the later one had to leave as completely dark at 6.30pm
Any help on top of the massive support from the regular Sulham dog walkers would be hugely appreciated

Failed to write in description of Eddie that he has Terrier cramping syndrome and is on 12.5 mg of Phenoliptyl twice daily, he has not had any medication since 21/02 so could well be not moving so well, back legs can cramp.
Please keep a look out for him, he might not be with Alfie any more.
