Surely this is theft by finding if she wasnt handed in, are her microchip details up to date, could owner not obtain a crime reference number so that the chip can be flagged up as stolen

Now believed to have been in the Stoke-on-Trent area in April/May 2017- will share to DogLost Central FB group and bumping existing posts.

Searcher - that's good to know more help - make sure you contact the dog warden, rescue centres and local vets. I believe the dog warden comes under East Renfrewshire Council 0800 013 0076 and stray dogs are likely to be taken to Cardonald Dog and Cat Home 03000 999 999.

More help coming down from Crail tomorrow, we will be handing posters into local farms in the area if they dont mind. Thank you to every heartfelt person who is helping so far, maybe someone has some local knowledge, the wee girl is missed by many but just wouldnt survive being abandoned in Eaglesham moor, why did they do this ?
DogLostSandra Watt
Copied from Wizard of Paw's facebook page "Today met with the very distraught owner of this wee Boston. He's come to Glasgow today from Crail to try and find her. If anyone has any information please get in touch with Giffnock Police office who are investigating".
Owner was concentrating his search today in Eaglesham area from some information that he had received.

This has been reported to Lost Dogs Glasgow that the area that Tiggatwo has ran from is up near greenfield farm which is just before the entrance to Windfarm. www.facebook.com/groups/LostDogsGlasgow/

Been reported in the past for neglect as I understand it. When I saw this on FB I thought the history of this dog needs to be added too. Hope all ends well for this little dog but I do not think the whole story is being told here by the owner. Last edited: 2017-02-07 08:29:27 by T2F

You guys are right Crai is a small place, and this guy is well known for leaving his dog tied up at God knows what time at night in all weather conditions without food or water until some kind soul finds it and brings it back to him because he has been too damned drunk and forgot about it. Is he really surprised the dog was picked up by someone? Last edited: 2017-02-07 07:54:57 by T2F

Could someone from doglost amend the wording on the poster and then put on some of the Eaglesham fb sites - such as https://www.facebook.com/SaveEagleshamVillage/ and https://www.facebook.com/EagleshamHistorySociety/?hc_ref=SEARCH&fref=nf and https://www.facebook.com/Eaglesham-Waterfoot-Community-Development-Trust-196212083883/ - also contact Shedden Vets on the Clarkston Road which is the nearest one to Eaglesham ?

Shared this post as I'm Glasgow area fingers crossed someone notices this dog ASAP

Agree with Sable - the woman did not take to vet for scanning nor report to dog warden - can owner go back to police and insist on crime reference number. This woman's action confirms that she had no intention of finding owner and took dog without owner's permission, ie stolen.

Is anyone looking for the dog in the area where the sister is too have lost the dog from ?
DogLostLostdogs ScotlandSable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland
The latest information I have been told is that the person who removed the dog, whether intentions were initially good or not, had taken her back to Glasgow area and gave dog to her sister. It was from there the dog went missing, so I still maintain this was theft as if the dog was given to her sister - why? Why not hand the dog into a police station in Glasgow or take it there to be scanned? Whoever has the dog now is committing a crime by not handing the dog in.
DogLostSandra Watt
I totally agree with Mandy, Crai is a very, very small village - the kind of place that everyone knows everyone and I am sure if the person who took this dog had asked about at the time, the owner would easily have been found. The Police are the out-of-hours contact for stray dogs and should have made arrangements to take the dog. The woman who took the dog should also have followed the law and contacted the dog warden on the Monday. It is very easy to find the contact number via internet search. As Mandy said, she could have taken the dog to any vet and had the microchip checked if she really wanted to find the owner. If I was the owner, I would be taking legal advice from Wheldon Law who offer a free consultation 01442 242999. Does anyone know if there is a facebook page for this dog to try and get this story out there.
Mandy
I find this story very hard to believe including the police response. Why on earth did she think it ok to take the dog in the first place - Crail is so small there must have been someone that would recognise a locals dog if she had asked/ Did the police get her to sign anything to say she was looking after it for 28 days like she would if the dog warden had been involved? Is there no-one in East Neuk area that could have checked for a chip? Then she drives past several vets and pet supermarkets that could have checked the chip - how was she going to reunite the dog if the owner couldn't get to Glasgow? I think her local police should go and knock on the door and see if she has really lost it - the area given is quite vague and several miles from Giffnock. If the poor soul is out there it will be terrified

Further information has come to light that the dog could be lost in the area around Eaglesham and the Whitelee Wind Farm, south of Giffnock.

Boston Terrier
they have her details but on Monday morning before she was going to take it to a vet to read the chip she says it runaway .

Hollieberry
If the lady contacted the police to say she had found a dog surely they would have taken her name & address .
Boston Terrier
unfortunately the police have not charged the woman with theft as they say
the lady found the dog and was looking after it until the owner was connected . My problem is she left Crail and returned to Giffnock with the dog but the Police still says that there was no crime as she was looking after the dog until the owner was found . Maybe we need pressure to change the law . The owner was all the time at home in Crail looking for his dog .

Boston Terrier - I think you should report TIGGATWO as stolen as the woman who removed the dog took it without owner's permission (in my view stolen). If you can get a crime reference number, please send to admin@doglost.co.uk and they can change status to stolen. Very, very suspicious that the woman is now stating the dog has run away? Is there a Dog Lost Co-ordinator in Glasgow area?
Boston Terrier
the police are investigating but the lady who removed the dog from Crail and returned to her her home in Giffnock with the dog says that the dog has now run away. SSPCA have been informed .

Presume someone has contacted SSPCA at Cardonald as that is only 6 miles away from Giffnock?
Hollieberry
Would the police not have the ladies details ?
Mandy
Bit confused by the description. Am I right that the dog was tied up outside a shop in Crail and because the local police said they couldn't hold it the holidaymakers took the dog back with them saying they were staying in Giffnock on 30th January and has not been handed in by them? Worth checking the local b&bs & pubs and the caravan site with a description of the woman as not many people would go from Giffnock to Crail for a day out so may have stayed overnight and someone might have contact details. I doubt there would be many tourists there at this time of year
