Thank you for looking. My husband has already been down to all the shops on the trade park to ask them to keep an eye out. As for the burger van though, it hasn't been there for ages.

I went into the retail park again today on the way home from a job, but couldn't see the cat unfortunately. Do you think it might be worth putting up posters in a couple of the shops there? It's not too far from your house and there's always a chance it could be him as he could be finding food from the burger van or the other shops. I asked in a couple of the shops and they said they'd look out for a potential stray cat. Come on Badger, time to go home!

The cat that was run over and killed on Aberdour Road on 19th January was not Badger.

We had a female cat disappear last January who turned up 13 weeks later in the warehouse of St Leonards Asda, we think she had either been taken away or got into a vehicle and was making her way home. She used to be out all the time now she hardly even crosses the door. It is unlikelly that we could be that lucky twice. We have been notified about a cat being knocked down and killed on Aberdour roud, the day before yesterday, he roughly fits Badgers description so my husband has just gone to Inglis the vets with photos to aid with an identification. I really don't think it will be him or maybe it's just that I'm hoping.

I so hope it's him! The cat I saw yesterday made me smile because it had such a bouncy, cheery walk and was obviously a young, well-fed cat. If it had looked thin or lost or in any way distressed I would have stopped the car and tried to catch it. I can go past that way tomorrow on the way back from a job so I'll park up in the retail park and have a look round. If it's of any comfort to you, one of our cats years ago disappeared for nearly 6 weeks, and I really thought he was gone as we lived out in the countryside then so there weren't many places he could get food. Turned out he could catch his own dinner!! We eventually found him sauntering up the road one day when we were driving back home from work - he was a wee bit thinner (but that was no bad thing for him!), covered in fleas, but absolutely fine!

Thank you Debbie, we have been all over the place but will go down to the trade park again for another look. Our biggest problem is that one of our sons lives next door to us, he too has a black and white male cat, although, even though he is a full tom still, he is much smaller than Badger he also has a few battle nicks in his ears so doesn't look quite as elegant as Badger. I really appreciate you sending the information, I am heart broken at his loss. Thank you, also, to everyone else who is sharing the information, I truly appreciate all your help.

babybeardie, it's Debbie from Alpha Dog Training here (I'm a cat person too!) I was very near your street yesterday (Friday 20th Jan) as I was driving in to the car park at B&Q at about 1.30pm. I saw a large black & white cat trotting along just round the corner from B&Q, as if it was heading towards the pedestrian crossing. I noticed it particularly because it's an unusual place to see a cat of course, but also because it just looked so happy and well fed. It might be worth just checking around the shops and the burger van at the retail park again because if it is Badger, he's not going hungry anyway so someone might be feeding him. I really hope that cat was him, but if not, I'm out & about in Dunfermline a lot, so will definitely keep an eye out for him. Last edited: 2017-01-21 11:49:44 by Smiler

Great idea GeoffA It may bve that someone has taken her in, thinking she is a stray, and also she isn`t microchipped. This does happen. I would ask friends, and nerighbours to share as well as Doglost. Have you thought of placing ad in a newspaper too? Fingers xd.
