- A local man found Marley's body in woods yesterday afternoon. He rang me as my number had been on social media with a missing poster.
The RSPCA opened a case on Wednesday this week and Hebden Bridge police attended a property looking for Marley.
I went to the woods with Marley's previous owners as they had been advised to contact the RSPCA should they find Marley. The RSPCA advised that her body should be retained by the previous owner and would be needed as part of the investigation. They body was also scanned for a microchip (despite the silly gossip on FB) but the RSPCA advised they would get an order to sieze the body.
They have confirmed this has been done today and allowed the previous owner to post an update on FB. No further updates will be posted as far as I am aware as its up to the police and RSPCA to find out what happened.
Marley is currently with vets. The local authority have been notified and a log number obtained.
RIP Marley you deserved so much more x - 2017-01-22 12:09 Jan -North West and Police Liaison Coordinator

- I hope Marley`s cause of death will be established and justice served in her memory, wherever the outcome takes this sad thread it is a great shame for her to have been recovering from a previous injury to then have died in what appears to be a questionable way ... rest in peace beautiful Marley. I am sure your story will be told in full, given time.

- Mytholmroyd and Hebden Bridge have been postered. All vets notified. Network Rail have confirmed that there have been no reported fatalities in the area and have taken details should any be reported. Rochdale Canal and Calder River are alongside each other and Canal Trust have taken details and again confirmed there have been no reported fatalities.
Enviro Health Dept are in charge of the river and do not log or retrieve any animal unless it causes either pollution or flood risk :(
There was a possible sighting the day she went missing by the Kitchen Café which is canal side. Nothing since. - 2017-01-17 22:50 fletcher99
