Any updates on Buzz please? Any sightings yet?
MaxineS
So very sorry Buzz is still missing.
timlux1@gmail.com
what about putting up some nature cams in strategic spots - car park, where he went missing, maybe the water bowl at the camp site etc.? Put them out at dusk, check them in the morning. I have one I could put up.
Baydogs
If you go here regularly and park in the same car park it might also be a good idea to leave a worn article of clothing where you normally park your car.Even sitting there at night with the engine running, open windows and some smelly food might encourage him to appear.
Baydogs
Really pleased you had such a good turnout yesterday but sorry there haven't been any sightings - as yet.

Just looking at a map of the area....vast isn't it. Lots of cover . Great for dogwalking but not so good for finding a lost one. Any streams or deep ditches near the area where he was last seen where he may have got himself stuck?
If you haven't already done so, might be worth putting a flyer through the isolated property letterboxes in case he's sleeping in outhouses/barns/stables.
Do hope there is news soon.
Condra
No... unfortunately there have been no sightings or sounds as yet. We had a great turn out at the Chantries yesterday where he was last seen. Friends, family and doglost volunteers. A fantastic effort very much appreciated but still no Buzz... yet.

Any sighting or sound of Buzz yet?

I've heard it's worth trying in the middle of the night as there's much less noise and better chance of hearing him. I will try and join you at 10am tomorrow. Got everything crossed he's found.
timlux1@gmail.com
sorry Condra, wasn't able to get there today in the end, but will be there + dog at 10 tomorrow. Need someone with a ferret and a GoPro!
Condra
Okay... I'm not calling it a search party but I'm going to be at the Chantries from 10.00 on Sunday 8th Jan. Hopefully others can join me, I'll park in the Halfpenny Lane car park. Maybe see you there.
Baydogs
Condra, someone may have already suggested this but a length of hose with a funnel on the end can help amplify sounds from holes.
And if you know anyone i the area who would use/lend a snake camera you could take a look down there. I'm too far away from you to loan you mine I'm afraid.
Hope you find your boy soon.
Condra
TJ... thank you SO much for taking the time. What sort of time do you suppose you might be there. I'd like to know where your dog was going crazy and maybe listen down into that hole. I know it's unlikely but it's all I've got. Thanks again.
timlux1@gmail.com
Condra, I had a good look around there today; checked the rabbit holes on the ridge, and any I could find within about 400m or so, but no sign I'm afraid. Our spaniel did dig like crazy at the largest rabbit hole on the ridge however, which is unusual for him. To the point he was halfway into the hole and I had to pull him out. I yelled down the burrow several times but no response, so it was probably a rabbit. He didn't react to anything else in that area. I also looked further into the Chantries and over by the scout camp site. I'll try again tomorrow.

TJ... No, sorry, I'm not making this easy am I. If you were walking from the Pilgrims Way car park and you went all the way along the road / wide track along the bottom of the hill then you come to the sandy track which crosses through fields with horses in on both sides. At the end of the sandy track if you turn left and walk along a bit towards the end of the Pewley Down track. Buzz was last seen up on the ridge to your right. I have put signs in the area on fence posts and one on a tree up where I last saw little Buzz. The nearest car park is actually the one at the bottom of St Martha's Hill on Halfpenny Lane. From there came back along the road and go right once you enter Chantry Wood. Thanks TJ. All and any help is greatly appreciated.

thx, so the other end of the sandy path from Pewley, where the woods start.
Condra
Not done this before so not sure it will work but here is a link to Google Maps https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/51%C2%B013'35.7%22N+0%C2%B032'39.7%22W/@51.2265823,-0.5465537,637m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x0!8m2!3d51.226579!4d-0.544365

Will go and have a good search around there first thing on Friday morning. We walk our dog there, so know it extremely well. Just to be clear, do you mean the ridge on Pewley Down, the footpath to Longdown Road? So a hedge on one side, and the mini-wooded area, with rabbit holes etc. on the other? Or further down the hill towards the sandy path? I'll also have a look back towards the Chantries, and further along the base of Pewley Down, where I know the undergrowth is really thick. Sorry I can't get there until Friday.

Buzz was last seen on a ridge between the end of the sandy path that has horses in fields on both sides and the path coming down from Pewley down. I went up there to get him and he was gone. He has gone into holes before but there aren't many in that area. I have searched the area and put my head down every hole I can find but have heard nothing - previously I have heard him barking underground.

can you tell us exactly where Buzz was lost please? Which part of the Chantries?
