As far as we know this dog is still loose but no reported sightings since yesterday. One of the ladies who saw it on Saturday said a man was running down the carriage way looking for a dog. But its not been established if this might be an owner or someone helping. The last known sighting was put on a local Andover FB page:

This area is a SO postcode. This is accross the road from where Jarvis 46871 got stolen a few years ago.
I have been in contact with me DW who went out that way, but haven't heard anything since he contacted me at 4pm this afternoon. Will contact him again tomorrow. Basingstoke DW confirms its not her area but thought it might be Winchester. Although Barton Stacey I am pretty sure is our area.
This is not to far from Popham where the trail hound is missing so I hope they two don't get confused, as someone reported today a dog loose on the A30/A303 which is the Popham / Micheldever exit.
The public have to be aware this area is NOT safe to search in. The A34 is an extremely busy road and no one should attempt going along the A34 or A303. It is far to dangerous. I am

More info on recent sighting (this morning)

More info from -

Hi trying to give more info on lost dogs but as I'm out and about the posts keep failing. We had travelled down A303 from Andover and exited at Bullingtin Cross area to take A34 to Winchester. We had gone under the bridge and turned right at the roundabout to enter the A34 towards Winchester. The dog came from our left, crosssed the roundabout in a general west direction as if it was going to go into the A34 (towards Barton Stacey).

SO21 is the correct postcode - villages near by are Norton, Barton Stacey and Sutton Scotney.

It is SO postcodes.

Thanks for listing this Whippet - very worrying situation. Please can you call it in to the Police 111 service. I have messaged our wonderful Wilts Police contact already, but a call to the control room would be a good idea.

Also, please could you check the postcode, I don't think the A303 runs to SO postcodes?

Its miles from the Wiltshire boarder, about 20 mins drive to this point. Ne I think this area will be Winchester DW if anyone is worried. I don't think its my area, we are only up to Barton Stacey.

I guess the police would know if they themselves picked the dog up or if was reported after an RTA .
