I cried buckets when I thought she had died, had to keep scrolling past all the fb posts,as couldn't bear to see those eyes. I am so happy she is still alive.
So sorry for the other dog though, hope the owners are found for closure.

Totally agree with Fiona re rescue dogs from abroad. We currently have a local one on the loose, been hit by a car but hopefully location known and will be caught soon. The adopters/fosterers need to be extra vigilant and keep them secure at all times for quite a while. Glad Belle is safe.

This is wonderful news. So pleased Belle is safe. Presume rescue dogs have animal behavourists to help with any issues such as trusting humans etc? Stay safe now Belle; you sill be fine. You are gorgeous:-)xxx

109865 Jerry a Silver Fox went missing from WF16 on 4th January. This is very close to Wakefield. Is the farmer certain Belle was the animal worrying his sheep or could Jerry by coincidence be in the area too?

Wow. Xx

We had the most amazing news yesterday!! Please see below from Silver Fox:

GOOD MORNING
EXCITING NEWS !!
I received a telephone call yesterday from the Dog Warden in Wakefield. A Farmer’s sheep were being worried by what he thought was a fox. The trap contained not a fox the following morning but a dog. The Warden said she is chipped to you, I asked what name was on the chip? He said Belinda!! I almost dropped the phone and welled up, I asked if he could describe her and he described Belinda aka BELLE to a T!!
I rang the owner to let her know and she went straight to the kennels. However Belle was very very nervous and fear aggressive so it was agreed she would come back to Silver Fox.
I must thank the Farmer as he could have shot her The Dog Warden and Manor Kennels . Although she hadn’t killed any ewes they are all in lamb so we pray it doesn’t cause them any further problems.
As we speak the lovely Sarah Holden is on her way to Ossett to collect her she will then go into foster to heal with our lovely foster Mammy and Microchip Transfer Admin Adrienne Moon. Thank you ladies so much for getting Belle back into the family.❤ ❤ ❤
I pray the amazing DogLost Team will be able to trace the owner of the deceased dog that was thought to be Belle and give them closure
Pictures once home
No negative comments please lets just celebrate the fact that Belle is alive, well and will very soon be home ❤

If anyone needs clarification or any information on the deceased animal, please contact myself on clairebearg@live.com or lancashirejanet@yahoo.com xx

How utterly devastating.

Very good point, Fiona, I have thought this too

I wish the rescues that bring these dogs over would stress that they will bolt at the very first opportunity and you just cannot be too careful. Really best to keep a harness and lead attached at all times and never transfer from car to house or car to car etc without a double lead so the dog is never without someone attached. Too late for this poor soul but please if the rescue is following too many are lost like this
