More info on the address, a good friend has seen the dog and it is not brock. So we are back to square one. still postering every minute i can. feel I am not doing enough, but keep going. Had a phone call from local policeman he said he has just been reading our case file and if we get any leads to an address he is willing to accompany us, which could be helpful. Two months now he has been gone this Friday.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks patsy-the more posters the better. Vicky-it maybe worth putting posters near to that school where one was being sold?? even go to the school and have a word with the parents- someone might know who this person is. I have found schools very willing to help and have used them in the past asking for messages to be sent out with the children saying that if it results in finding Brook then the cash reward will go to the school fund- maybe worth a try?? thank you, i have looked at the ad. on loot but it has a long tail. we have had a few phone calls about brock, with sightings about 3 miles away. Have been and looked but no sign or sound of a dog but there was signs of dogs being there and one of the calls said there was 8 dogs at the property. a contact today said that someone not from that address but is related to the people from that address was selling a black patterdale a week ago at the local school.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

the found dog is listed as an adult so size wise compared to a patterdale would be much bigger.Howecer as dog has only been seen the size may be difficult to judge.Unlikely but any possibilty is always worth checking advise owner to follow this up. CJLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have seen the Surrey Ad. and brock and monkey is in there, we and friends are still postering and i am handing out wallet sized leaflet's. We have made some larger signs with not a lot of info on so they can go on the road side junctions and be seen eg. A3, M3 and are putting them up everyone is being so kind and helpful trying to help me find Brock. a friend of ours was stopped in the street walking his dog because it is a patterdale, he had to try to convince the lady it was not brock and was his dog. So people around this area looking out for him. but still no leads, lets hope something happens soon. My husband has seen the countryside officer at the police station and had a words about the dog thefts, he was quite understanding and very concerned about it. thank you all again for your help and we are not giving up on our brock, he is a very important part of our family and we are going to get him back. xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Vicky, was the poster for Brock n Monkey ok? I haven't heard anything... any other news to report - has anyone managed to track down the local person who saw the van - is it worth putting a huge poster with detail of the van and persons associated on the road at the point where the theft occured - that way it might jog people's memories as they drive past and you may get some more information!!??...Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have emailed a double poster - Brock and Monkey - to their owners - as they come from the same estate it'll give a boost for people to see that there are now two dogs missing and they might be more vigilent as the thieving whatnots may come back for another go in the area!!! GGGRRRR surely someone out there took more note of the men or the van??? Will help out postering this week - things much calmer for me now :o)Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

hello i am one of Brock's owners. first i wish to say thank you for your comments and yes Brock is a special dog to us in many ways. we have posted send, Ripley, wood street, rockers farm shop, local supermarkets, newlands corner, in car windows, merrow, burpham. Parents at the school has taken posters to put up were they walk their dogs in the area, a friend delivers meat to butchers in Kent and he is going to try to get them displayed there, friends in chertsey are putting posters around that area. Yes we have phoned the police the day he was stolen, they said someone would phone in a few days, but no phone call as of yet. They have sent a crime reference number. thank you all for putting posters up and everthing you are all doing. PLEASE PLEASE keep keep up the good work as we want him back and we are not going to give up on him. thank you vicky xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Patsy and Amanda. Unfortunately Pete DW is off for two weeks with no replacement. Offer of taking details of lost dog to hand over to him on his return was given!! Patsy have emailed you. Although it could be he has been taken or being taken to the area where Digby was found, we cannot take our eye of the local area in favour of Kent. What we need is for more owners to prosecute and stop these people. They will not be stopped otherwise and other owners will suffer. There are lots of enquiries being made behind the scenes regarding both Monkey and Brock. Sue xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Good idea about Swanley amanda - I'm sure Sue W. is on the case . . . ! If you have time today, could you drive down to Okewood Hill and give a poster to Surrey Union Hunt kennels, maybe also the pub. Graham (Brock's owner) said he would contact terrier men at the kennels to ask them to spread the word in the terrier world, but not sure if he has done so yet. thank you. I'm out all day doing other stuff. PxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Probably worth postering Swanley with this one, do the Swanley helpers get emails when dogs from this area go missing? Perhaps all terrier thefts in the South East should be postered around Swanley areas....Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Postered this evening for both Brock and Monkey in Effingham area as follows: Orestan Lane outside Plough Pub and Dirtham Lane end, Church Road, The Street by the shops and outside Sir Douglas Haig Pub. Also gave posters for both dogs to police officers from Reigate Police Station parked at the top of Young Street, Fetcham, who told me they were in the middle of dealing with big theft of plant and machinery just along the road towards Bookham/Effingham direction (happened this evening). Police officer I spoke to was v. sympathetic and took the problem of dog theft seriously. On the way home, also put posters through door of Leatherhead Police Station, with a note explaining that both dogs were stolen from the same farm. As Sue says, v. important that Graham reports theft to police and gets a crime/incident number. Sorry, cannot do much tomorrow till evening. Px Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I'll call Pete in the morning. Some suggestions have come in via another, poster Effingham (Oreston / Dirtham Roads) and all around the area of theft. Hoping Monkeys owner can use her experience with postering and where to do so and let helpers on this page know where to go. Please Jilly? Hoping owner has also contacted police on this one. Will try to follow up tomorrow with more. Sue xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have just spoken to Brock's owner, Graham. He and his family live in a cottage on the SAME farming estate as Jilly, Monkey's owner! He is one of the gamekeepers. Brock was stolen from his kennel at lunchtime last Friday. Thieves went through the fence and broke into the kennel - only took Brock, not any of the labradors (gundogs) also in there. White transit van seen. Graham has been in touch with gipsy liason officer and dog warden who are working behind the scenes with him. Local terrier men, Surrey Union Hunt Kennels, shooting contacts all being contacted by Graham. Jock in entire so of course useful for breeding, but apparently a v. soft terrier, so useless for terrier work/earthing etc. More of a pet really, although Graham has him out on the estate with him all day when working. The whole family, especially the children, is devastated and Graham is quite determined to get his little terrier back. He knows Jilly and is petty sure the two cases are connected. They have a problem with poaching and theft on the estate (lots of bridleways and paths cross the land, but the whole farm is closed off now as in Foot and Mouth Surveillance Area). I'll out postering for both Monkey and Brock tonight. Graham out postering tonight too. PxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have only just seen this. Will call owners for more info and put them in touch with Jilly, Monkey the greyhound's owner, also missing from GU4. Jilly has made lots of useful contacts. Also, has Pete the Guildford Dog Warden been sent a poster? And gipsy liason officer? If not, I'll do it. Px Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

As soon as Admin receives a photograph, the poster will be emailed out to helpers. Posters need to be displayed as soon as possible on notice boards, lamp posts, entrances to parks, dog bins and on cars. Take posters to vets, pet shops, postmen (for sorting offices), milkmen, dustmen, street cleaners, taxi drivers, schools, pubs, youth clubs, newsagents, post offices, takeaways, dog training clubs, supermarkets and car parks. Hand out reduced-down posters or cards to people - especially dog walkers - and deliver to houses and businesses. Police stations, Dog Wardens, the RSPCA and all rescue centres need checking frequently and preferably visited in person by owner or someone who knows Brock well. Stay safe Brock, until you are found x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
