Doglost is aware that there are some controversial attitudes towards this post. Doglost is not involved in any fund raising and prefer that ringos page gets used for sightings only. Please keep other discussions on FB. Thank you.

So what's the scoop with this dog? Missing for FIVE months and over £1000 donated to dart him. And 'proof' posted on the Find Missing Ringo facebook page that a good part of this money has been sent through paypal to the 'darting company'. But what is this company? Can't find a webpage for them or any contact details....so what is going on? Next time maybe people will be a little more careful before sending money so willingly to some woman who is neither a registered charity or anything other than just some self-appointed 'rescue'. The whole thing would be laughable had it not involved both a live animal and (alot) of people's money given so trustingly. Look into the history of the woman who runs this 'rescue'.Last edited: 2017-04-01 13:41:42 by ann

Comment from Ring's owner..............
"I have spent this afternoon laying scent trails to hopefully lead Ringo back to the feeding station. I have spoken to two wonderful experts who have given lots of advice and will be following it to the letter !!! The important thing is to keep anyone out of the area unless invited to do a specific task and for everyone else to share his post and put up posters as we are very rural here and if he does leave the local he could head in many different directions. We have established that the way I was handling this was the right way as any uninvited bodies will only scare his away from the area. We need local people to help by putting up posters and I could really do with a nice fit outdoor type to continue laying the scent trails for me as I currently do not have enough hours in the day 😪😪😪 I have attended a site tonight where someone had reported a dead dog at the side of the slip road leading to the M77 but thankfully for Ringo it was in fact a dead deer "

From Angela Kelly on Lost Dogs Glasgow page @ 10:15 4/11: "Has there been any sightings yet? My girls were barking this morning and I glanced out got sight of dark coloured dog going up road couldn't see anyone with it? Think it may have been round the back of house as girls were in bedroom. Should add I'm Newton mearns just off Ayr road"

Plans are in hand to obtain a trap, and contact will be made with a local Dog Behavioural Consultant.

Spoken to owner now and we really need a trap. Does anyone know of a trap available in the area?

Although I now live in Manchester, I know that area well - can I suggest you contact local dog warden firstly in case he is handed in, also as many posters as you can get out in the local area (print your posters from this site). I know there are farms nearby, so you need to let them know to keep a look out for him. I am sure you will have him back soon.

Sorry to see that RINGO is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (106770)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
