Fab news - just shows the importance for Vets & others to Scan the entire Body for a 'chip !
Surely they shold know this tho ' !!! ?

Also, proves the importance of DogLostUK & it's Database & huge 'audience' who can help share etc etc .

Just heard from jaspers owner (Jasper on the lost pages)..this found dog on this page has been moved by police to private kennels..paw prints in Rugby...which is closed today! She has the mgrs no' there to call first thing Fri....stratford dogwarden has told her her they think this is an older dog, timid/scared. cannot find a chip..it is MALE

I do wonder if this dog was put in DD kennels for safe keeping - till could be collected and not because dangerous!Have asked owners of Jasper to update chip number then armed with that can see if can get this found dog scanned and compare chip numbers.

Maybe the owner could also contact local MP as they have ways on getting through red tape that others cannot. Time is of essence and this poor dog needs to be found.

DDA contact no is 07941020754 options come up for other numbers keep a pen and paper handy! You will prob have to leave message but very good at getting back to you. You might like to ask Council local to area found in via dog wardens of the nearest SDK animal collection dept if they have been given to them direct by Status Dog Unit. Legislation states that every stray dog is given 7 days before being euthanised!

And thinking about it....shouldn't they be able to just put her through? Should have an integrated telephony system? Dial 101 and ask to speak to the dog legislation officer

I have emailed our police coordinator with the details but I cannot promise she will be able to help.
The poor dog is probably terrified.

I have just had the owner of jasper on the phone and she also thinks this could be Jasper (102760) as just prior to him disappearing he was due for a coat clip and this is how his fur goes. She called Warks Police several times yesterday about this found dog and was finally told it had been taken to their "dangerous dog unit" but she cannot find out where that is or how to contact them..she is desperate to speak to that unit to get more info on this found dog to see if it might be her Jasper. can anyone help? She also called Warks dogwarden and Coventry dogawarden..both of whom were amazed the dog had not been brought to them. Can anyone in the Stratford/Warks area help find out where this dog is and who jasper's owner can talk to?? The police told her today they cannot give out the DDunits number and suggested she tries to speak to the officer who dealt with the found dog...but he is not on duty today. if it IS her dog this would be dreadful if she cannot talk to the people who have him...no matter what the dog has been through. I have tweeted situation to @k999cops on twitter..the warks & w mercia dogs section ..asking for help.

Copper is a working cocker..this looks like a show cocker....but I have put a note on Jasper's page who was stolen from Notts end of July (102760) as although this one is slightly darker it could be him if its a boy and has been kept in poor conditions
