WONDERFUL NEWS So pleased for owmner, and Beats :-)xxx

AT LAST. What a pointless ordeal.
So happy for you and Beats, together again.
This law is idiotic, and it sounds like there were some procedures that were not followed either.
xx

Good post Valpark. A relative of mine, and also a neighbour of mine used to own Staffies, which were from a reputable breeder of Pedigree Staffies of many years standing. However just after the new Law came into force they had some grief, the MINORITY of the public used to insist that they must be taken to the vet, and destroyed immediately. thinking they must be ferocious. Of course they were`nt One individual was quite insistent about having them destroyed (Media was to blame) Both the Staffies lived to a good age. These dogs had only one problem) THEY LOVED EVERYONE:-)Last edited: 2016-10-13 15:00:42

At last, well done!

Fantastic news. Welcome home sweet boy. Well done owner and all involved in securing "Beats" homecoming.
valpark
Poor dog must wonder what has happened. The stress for family and Beats was enormous. He looks just like his breed "Staffordshire Bull terrier", who was always known as the "Nanny dog".It seems all bull breed owners are in the firing line and the quicker the BSL law is overturned the better. It is so unfair to all those family dogs and owners who take care of their dogs. The few people that train their dogs to fight need hunting down and locking up.When will the UK understand that it is not the breed type that should suffer .There are "dangerous dogs in all breeds".The outcome for bull breeds is not good. They are wonderful dogs and deserve better.Well done to Beats owner for sticking by him.I hope the support of "Dogs Lost" helped.
Millys Mum
What wonderful news but such a worrying and scary story. So happy for Beats' family. I can't help but liken this case to Uby's who went missing from his home in Penge... I often think about Steps, her devastated owner. But finally welcome home Beats and wishing you and your family a long, healthy and happy life xx

That is great news Kenesha. I an so glad Beats is coming home.
Kenesha
Hey skywalker99 and mallory'smum beats case went to court today I now have to wait for papers to come in post sign send payment for his insurance and exemption then he will be home soon as that's done xx thanks again for ur concerns xxx
Mallory'smum
God Luck Kenesha-hope Beats is back with you as he should have been all along
Skywalker99
Hope today means Beats gets home asap
Kenesha
Goin court on Friday to get exemption xx skywalker99
Skywalker99
Good luck with today...stumps me why the police think someone who owned a banned breed would a) microchip it so ownership can be traced, and b) put it on a national website where all information is in the public domain to try and find it when it goes missing..but then the DDA was a hasty and ill thought through piece of legislation.
Skywalker99
Glad you have someone to help.
Kenesha
They know I want beats back asap so they think I'm jus goin to agree x I will be reading and I have my neighbour to help me x
Kenesha
Okay skywalker99 but the have reassured me that will not be happening the officer said beats is friendly not violent but he is a pit the dda told me that they have to prove he is and I have to prove he isn't . Dunno if they tryna get me to sign and agree his a pit then I can't go back I've left a message with dda they will call me back they are good x if beats was violent they could prosecute me she says but as he isn't I can keep him I think they are dodgy but I will be reading what they send me tomorrow with a fine tooth comb xx lol just want beats back soon as
Kenesha
Hmm mm dunno about the boys background that had him I've met him he looked harmless lol I dunno he was a white male looool not the usual suspects loooool it's crazy I will keep you posted once I receive this letter from them tomorrow
Skywalker99
Kenesha, please make sure you speak to the DDA...the reason people are saying do not sign anything without taking advice is that the police can ask you to sign what is called a disclaimer, this means the dog becomes their property and they put them down. Please make sure you take advice before agreeing to anything.
Kenesha
I understand why people where saying don't sign anything once I agree his a pit Wats that mean? Imma call dda in the morning
Kenesha
Hi guys I've spoken with the police and they say that I need to agree with what they send me via email once I agree they will go to court on Friday and register beats. For some reason I think they have neutered beats already but that's cool I'm thinking once I have him back I can prove his not a pit bull with help from Blue cross that way at least he won't have to wear that dam muzzle and be on a lead. I'm being nice and calm but they are well dodge
DogLostreggiemollieros
Hi Jayelle
Sadly it does not work that way.
I spoke to Anne from Deed not Breed and she explained a lot to me that I did not know. This page really explains it in a way I could understand.

http://www.deednotbreed.org.uk/index.php/0-dog-laws/dangerous-dogs-act-section-1
BorderCol
Maybe a stupid question, I have no experience of DDA etc, but why can't he have a DNA test to show what breeds he is and also to prove parentage if Kenesha knows his sire and dam?Last edited: 2016-09-08 18:33:17 by BorderCol
Mallory'smum
Poor Kallie HATE this stupid Law and beginning to feel same way about Police too :(
Unknown
Kallie bless him still there. Trying to raise 1200 for the fees. Nightmare
Skywalker99
Suspect the initial 'typing' by police had more to do with the time of day and who he was with when picked up....not what the dog really looked like. Are we sure the assessment has been done? (Kallie was on a long list with same force....)
Mallory'smum
TBH I would do whatever they say to get my dog back as quickly as possible. Although I agree with GillyP as he does not look slightest bit Pibble to me.
Unknown
An excempt dog has to be neutered or spayed. It's the law.
Jane
Kenesha If you don't want your dog neutered (I can understand why) they might go with a vasectomy - always worth a try. Worth asking. To my mind, personally, a vasectomy would be fine exceptable.
Skywalker99
Kanesha, you have to go with the system as Gillyp and Jayne say, please use the DDA. You love Beats and you want him back and having him back with conditions and neutered is better than not having him back at all. Please make sure you follow the advice you get.
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Kanesha...please work with the people we have put you in touch with...keep calm...I know its hard but we are here to help.
Unknown
Go with the system kanesha it's your only option. Yes some things are not fair and don't make sense but you love beats so stay calm and comply.xLast edited: 2016-09-06 20:00:35

So unfair 😓 I have spoken to dda I will have to go court before I get him back anyway and that could take 4weeks 😓😓 what can I say what can I do they gonna neutere my dog and I don't want that I'm not gonna breed him with another dog would of by now happy beats is safe hope he keeps barking to annoy them looool he wants to come home not used to them treatments xxx thanks again for all ur concerns and help beats x xxxx

and do not sign anything. How can they say not to worry when they have just given you a not simple answer. I despair of the police sometimes...but you really need to talk to DDA watch or an advice line asap. The police can not do anything to him without a court order.
Unknown
Speak with DDA watch again. I don't think he is either. You should ask what tests they did?. Fingers crossed for you but might be a drawn out process xx
Kenesha
Hey people I've just contacted the dog unit and they have said beats is a pit bull they taken my details an asked if I've been arrested no I haven't I've also spoken to Blue cross who say they will help me to prove beats is not a pit bull. The dog section said I'm not to worry beats is fine just barks a lot I said his missing me I just want my beats home I still believe his not a pit x
DogLostOwl
Thanks GillyP
Unknown
Kenesha has left messages for DDA watch
DogLostOwl
Kenesha needs to talk to a relevant helpline asap. She needs to be in touch with the status dog unit of whichever force took the dog, but I assume from posts further down that she already is? I have just been exchanging messages with another person experienced with this issue at Deed not Breed, 0833 815 6610 or 0833 815 6620. Last edited: 2016-09-05 23:14:25 by Owl

If I could just explain my involvement and Wandsworth Police, via a tweet I sent, they reached out to me to see if they could help.
It was the dedication of this officer that resulted in locating Beats. He was ar times off duty but still came back to me making suggestions of how to proceed. This officer tracked down Beats this morning, which prompted the phone call.
Of course woulld be good to find out why Kenesha was not informed. Scanner failure? Or some other reason?
The most important priority is to get Beats back home.
Kanesha I really hope that this is resolved quickly.
Then you can find out what went wrong. Maybe DDA Watch will also help with that?
Thinking of Beats and hoping he is home soon. Last edited: 2016-09-05 20:19:52 by reggiemollieros

GillyP - thx...just a bit worried that Kanesha won't check back here and see the advice and numbers to call.....
DogLostreggiemollieros
What an awful situation for you Kenesha.
I called Wandsworth dog warden to double check this morning and the dog warden I spoke to knew Beats and said he is not considered a banned breed by him.
Update: spoke to Wandsworth dog warden apparently their opinion is not taken into consideration. I sort of knew that but thought it worth asking.
DDA Watch - as GillyP said.

Ask me anything you are worried about. Been there!!!
Skywalker99
How awful, and no points to the police for not telling you they had him, there is no excuse for that, they should have told you. Kenesha please make sure you ring one of the numbers GillyP has given you and get advice and do not sign anything. I hope someone from Doglist who knows the system will keep in touch with Kensha and help her through this. Kenesha you may also want to contact www.doglaw.co.uk for legal advice. They have a premium rate advice lien so you won't rack up a huge bill. Have they told you how long this process may take?Last edited: 2016-09-05 14:24:03 by Skywalker99

Oh my God Kenesha you poor thing! All the hassle you have been through and now this. There is definately a witch hunt on at the moment and I do not know why. You may need to get a solicitor involved. But you should really have been informed well before now. I sincereley wish you all the luck and hope that your Beats is back home where he belongs very soon. x
Kenesha
Hi just to let you know beats is with the police being assessed they think beats is a pit bull. I know my beats will past with flying colours. Gillyp need to speak to you about who this officer is as owner cannot find out where her dog is...she has just been to brixton police station and they have no record of this...Reggie if you also read this can you call please as no phone number on your registration...tx
DogLostreggiemollieros
Just one thought. Are the microchip details up to date?
I would have hoped that he would have been scanned by now.
DogLostreggiemollieros
I was talking to the police on twitter and gave them the link to here.
The out of hours number I just called is to be used when there is threat to life.
I hung up as think it is if a dog is running loose.
I do think Lambeth dog warden hold the key to this.
Roll on Monday morning. Last edited: 2016-09-03 17:07:34 by reggiemollieros

DogLostreggiemollieros
I have found the page and taken screen shots ans emailed them to admin for attention of Jayne and GillyP. There is no point putting the link here as all it says is a dog like Beats was found and passed to the dog warden.
Hopefully now the page has been found then if there is any more info from the person who posted it can be pursued and vetified.
In the meantime Kanesha if nothing hapoens by Monday make sure you speak to Lambeth dog warden, Wandsworth dog warden and Croydon. I know Lambeth and Wandsworth wont ve available until Monday but try the out of hours numbers just in case. Croydon am not sure if they work weekends but you can get details from the respective council websites or on Battersea's website under lost dog what to do section.
DogLostreggiemollieros
I wil update Streetlife, a local forum, so peole know to keep looking. Someone read notes on here and jumped the gun.
I did say on there that it was not confirmed
Skywalker99
so basically no-one knows where he is? Poor owner after having her hopes raised by unverified comments found on facebook....I hope he is found soon.
DogLostBattersea Dogs HomeBattersea
He has not been brought to BDCH or reported here. We will let the owner know if he is.
Skywalker99
So at face value that looks like someone found him two nights ago and hasn't handed him in....isn't that theft? Doesn't look like owner is any closer to getting her beloved dog back....comments that say something has been seen on facebook without any reference are (imo) completely unhelpful to the owner. Thank you GillyP for doing what the owner can't because she doesn't have the information to do it.Last edited: 2016-09-02 14:14:33 by Skywalker99

I have messaged a person on the page to see if they know the finder. No reply yet.
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Spoken to GillyP and she says she heard about it on FB...she is trying to find the page...have advised owner to keep ringing Battersea as she says it is engaged...Though I see earlier down the postings they have said a report has been made about beats being missing with them.
Kenesha
I was thinking the same thing skywalker99 and I agree reggiemollieros but they can do whatever as long as I get him soon and his safe I know it's him his not violent so the can do test checks whatever his registered to me his mine that's all for your help still waiting battersea dogs home put me to voicemail trying to get through to doglost xx
Skywalker99
I hope reunited soon so too....all seems very mysterious (or bureaucratic) to me.
DogLostreggiemollieros
Can't the finder and Kenesha meets at a local vets and do a hand over? Save everyone going to Battersea?

Which ever way hope you get Beats back soon. Last edited: 2016-09-02 09:55:19 by reggiemollieros
Kenesha
Hi good morning gillyp any news on when my beaty boy will be dropped into battersea xx
Skywalker99
Dumb question, is there a reason Kenesha can't be told where he is now? And are we sure the dog in question is beats? I guess there is stuff going on behind the scenes but it does all seem rather cryptic!
Kenesha
Gillyp That is fantastic news thank you so much. When will he be taken as please? I'm ready to collect him now lol myself and daughter have missed him so much tell them to give him a big cuddle for me and I will see him real soon xxxx xxxx xx

Skyninchar, is it possible to post the link to your group on here? Then Kenesha could look for herself.
Kenesha, Battersea is open from 10am to 4.30pm, if you go take some proof of ownership and I'd in case he is there.Last edited: 2016-09-01 19:25:09 by Skywalker99
