Crossposting latest from Lenny's page: Well Lenny started to go out the area we wanted him to stay in. He decided to go to a work shop and go into the staff room eat the food out the bin and then have a little rest on there sofa (I cannot believe this but it did happen) thank god he ran back into the right direction. So we have two traps up and one is being manned all night and the other is being manned until 10am. As we have no one to man it after then. I'm very much hoping we get him tomorrow or I will be staying out all night with the second trap. Again thank you to everyone who has offered help and support it means a lot.
csquaredb
Have sent my contact a message. Fingers crossed he can help x

I hear they would.like three in all as Lenny , sadly is moving around.
Txt above no. ( im not in area) but think mobile is off at the mo as not to spook lenny , thanks csquaredb xxx
csquaredb
Reynard, evidently a second trap was put in place yesterday. Do they need a third? Someone offered us traps for the Chobham lurcher, but I'm not quite sure where he's based, but happy to ask if it's still needed?
DogLostReynard
Has anyone more local that has a Trap they could lend Lennys owner , as two Traps are needed, many thanks ?
DogLostReynard
Is there a co-ord helping... ?

Believe they have done that Mimi. HA have asked that people steer clear of the area to avoid the possibility of spooking him.Last edited: 2016-05-27 11:34:22 by csquaredb
Mimi
it might be good to put something of his owners smell or of his blanket or basket something he can recognise in the trap

Latest from Lenny's page - a trap has been put in place, but will not be set till tomorrow. Fingers crossed x

I had an e-mail last night to say Today at 08.30 a stray whippet/greyhound, liver/grey dog was seen in the fields behind Twisted Farm, Park Lane Maplehurst. Horsham, it was wearing a collar so hopefully it has not been dumped. the dog ran off when approached. I have phoned Collette with this info, and she feels it is likely him. I will poster here (monks Gate)

PLEASE CALL WITH LOCATION. DO NOT CHASE/APPROACH AS VERY NERVOUS AND WILL LEAVE AREA AGAIN.

Lost from Ewhurst 14.5.16.
Seen Friday 20.5.16 near BUCK BARN cross roads (MacDonalds) / COWFOLD area.
Seen Sunday 22.5.16 on A24 south of Buck Barn (A24 and A272 cross roads near MacDonalds
Possible sighting on DOWNS LINK near SOUTHWATER.

He is a much loved family pet and we would be very grateful for any information however small - please contact us as soon as possible as he can travel a long way quickly.

Thank you.
csquaredb
When you do get sightings, it would be good to ask sighters about any collar ie colour, standard or lurcher. May help to confirm whether the dog being seen is actually Lenny and not some poor stray - sadly there have been a large number of lurchers dumped in Surrey over the last few months :( Lack of collar does not necessarily mean not Lenny though, he may have got caught up and slipped it.
csquaredb
Have you notified the police on 101 that he's missing. Since he's been running around on major roads, I would have thought they may have had some sighting called into them. May help to narrow down the search area and they may be able to give you the heads up if he's seen.

Colette. ideally you want to get him on as many local selling pages and community sites in the areas he has been seen, but with someone monitoring the posts for sightings, so they can be reported back quickly. I have tried to join some round Cowfold, but unfortunately I'm not local so I'm not being let in :( Make sure all the dog wardens in both the areas he's been seen and neighbouring areas are aware that he's missing. He may well have lost his collar by now as he will have lost a bit of weight. Anyone seeing him must be told not to chase him as this is likely to make him run further. He will be very scared by now and may not even recognise you :( Can I strongly suggest you contact Ray Dedicoat. His website is www.raydedicoat.com. He is an expert on catching dogs, in particular sighthounds. His advice to Louie's owner (lurcher lost in Beddington Park a few weeks back) proved invaluable to getting him safe. Do hope Lenny is safe soon.x

I have shared on a site called Greyhounds Whippets and Lurchers Lost and found if that is any help.

Thank you all for your efforts so far. We continue to search every spare hour.
We need help to get Lenny more "findable" on the internet. I tried to see if I could find who I would have to contact if I found a grey/brown lurcher / whippet / bedlington whippet and google did not show results for our dog. If anyone can advise how we can make sure anyone who has spotted him can then find him and his owners details quickly on the website then this would be very very useful and give us a chance of locating him to a small area. Thanks you all again for your help. I am hopeful that we will eventually reunite with our lovely dog.

Is Lenny's FB page public or private alikat? Is it possible to put a link here please?

There is a huge amount of activity going on at Lenny's Facebook page: HELP US FIND LENNY. It would be helpful if some of this information could be added here. Harveys Army are heavily involved in this search and there have been sightings in the last day or two.
