- Absolutely!! Never give up!! Just as we were all considering how we could move forward with him he popped his head out of the hedge and into a slip lead. Thanks to the very quick reactions of Natasha he was caught......I'm not actually sure who was more surprised, him or us!! LOL Absolutely thrilled that he's home and safe and I must apologise for not mentioning DOGLOST in the write up. I will correct this immediately and hope you'll forgive me and understand that when it was written, at 3am this morning, emotions were running high and energy low. Doglost was invaluable. Thank you very much to everyone here for your suggestions, information and help. The posters were an invaluable resource and helped us to saturate village areas with information so that EVERYONE knew Elvis. Thrilled that he's home and hope that Ivor and his family have many wonderful years with him xxx

- For those not following on Facebook here's what happened;
"At approximately 5.45pm I received a message from Ivor to say that ELVIS had been seen in Charlecote at around 4.15pm. The lady that reported the sighting was able to give me exact details of where she'd seen him.
I responded and to my surprise, having found where he had been lying, my dog alerted me to the fact that he was still there, lying in a hedge.
I made some calls and was joined by Natasha Susnik. Together, with the help of lots of food and treats and Natasha getting IN the hedge with him, we managed to get him eating out of our hands but the hedgerow was long and we couldn't hope to cover all the holes and he was, understandably, wary of the slip lead.
Another phone call to Jane Hirons, from Dogs Trust, and very quickly she arrived with Helen Barlow, also from Dogs Trust. Together we worked to gain Elvis's trust and, despite a few moments when we held our breath, eventually, at approx 00.30am Natasha was able to put slip lead over his head, bring him out of the hedge and he was put in the back of the Dogs Trust car to await Ivor's arrival.
Please can I thank, from the very bottom of my heart, all the people that have helped. To the FACEBOOKERS that have spread the word for us and made this ELVIS a household name throughout the region, to everyone that has printed and put up posters, jumped in the car and physically looked for him, reported sightings and generally kept us going with messages of support. WITHOUT ALL OF YOU THERE IS NO WAY THAT ELVIS WOULD BE TUCKED UP WARM AND SAFE IN HIS BED RIGHT NOW. THANK YOU xxx"

- I walked up the public footpath in Shottery that runs up to Hansell Farm (your poster up) and then goes in a square through isolated fields and comes out by the primary school on Hathaway Lane. At one point the footpath splits and gets v muddy. In the path direction that went up towards Bordon Wood (back of Evesham Road) there were animal prints in the mud but no corresponding human footprints to suggest a dog on a lead. Looked like either large dog or deer. I called but could not see or hear him.

- Scent trail laid to a nice pile of Frankfurters but I'm not sure that it will do any good. No sightings at all today. He doesn't seem to have reappeared after running off across a field towards the Welcombe Hills and Ingon last night. This is an area that he is familiar with as it's back towards home and ground that he has covered so not too worried but would like to get a sighting to clarify. Will be walking the fields tomorrow.
- 2014-05-03 15:08 Unknown
- Thank you all very much for your help. Spent an interesting night being 5 minutes behind him until 4am when he went to ground in a field. No sightings reported yet today but I expect that he's keeping a low profile because the town is so busy. I went down to Stratford Racecourse and handed out posters to the caravanners and talked to some of the course staff and gave them posters but then he was back on his patch in Shottery/Bishopton area again last night (thank goodness). I've put posters at the Bishopton entry to the towpath, in both directions and the facebook campaign is continuing to grow. I'm going to attempt to lay a scent trail this evening in the hope that we can set up a regular scent station somewhere off the beaten track and eventually put a trap in place but that is reliant on him staying in the same place. Finger crossed. Will be in town again tonight.

- The sighting on Wednesday will be Paddock Lane off Evesham Road in Stratford-on-Avon which is v close to Stratford racecourse and not far from Shottery. I'll try and get some posters up on Greenway path (by racecourse) and will try and get some on canal which goes up to Wilmcote over weekend if I have time.

- Catwhothinksitsadog. I've saved your number and your information is priceless!!! Thank you so much. He was spotted three times last night in Shottery. Hope he stays there long enough for us to find him. He is looking sorry for himself and the lady that saw him last night believes he has inflammation of some sort on his undercarriage :(
- 2014-05-01 13:43 Catwhothinksitsadog
- Sounds as though he is travelling down Shottery brook in a southerly direction. It runs alongside Bishopton estate where he was on Tuesday and now in Shottery on Thursday. If he continues in that direction you'd expect him to arrive in Luddington but this boy certainly knows how to move about so he could deviate where brook becomes the Avon and end up around Stratford's Greenway path if goes in one direction or on land running behind Evesham Road.
- 2014-05-01 11:46 Jayne - Founder Doglost.
- Another sighting this morning by the canal at Shottery. Sighter has left message for owner.

- Sighting in Shottery, Stratford this morning at 6.30am. Huge relief after 3 days with no sightings :) He's still out there and hasn't moved too far. Come home Elvis!!
- 2014-04-30 01:49 Unknown
- Magicbeardies!! You're a star. I believe that Wellesbourne has some posters up but no idea how many. The vets have one up but unsure about anywhere else. Tysoe definitely hasn't been covered so if you could put posters up there it would be a MASSIVE help. Please can you let me know if you manage this. Thank you so much
Still no reports and we're trying to get local press on board so that we can spread the word that ELVIS is on the move and try and get some more sightings to give us a clue which direction he's heading in. - 2014-04-28 18:14 Magicbeardies
- I am based in Tysoe (which is halfway between Stratford upon Avon & Banbury), will be driving over to Wellesbourne tomorrow to the vets, has anyone covered these areas? I can print off and poster if that is of any help?

- HELP FIND ELVIS THE HOUND on Facebook.
NO sightings of Elvis since Saturday evening. The Stratford Marathon was on yesterday so we thought he'd just kept a low profile but no sightings last night or this morning. Wondering if he followed the canal from his last sighting in Stratford and has wandered off to pastures new. Help notifying surrounding areas is now needed please.

- Quiet day with no sightings and then this evening he reappeared right in the middle of his extended "patch". Our initial response was rapid ( we've got the "scramble" down to a fine art now) and we were on site within 10 mins but no sign. Have been out for several hours but had to eventually admit defeat. Sincere thanks to the local police who are aware of Elvis and have been out looking too.

- Thanks Trisha for the updated. I've updated the info to show up on his DogLost poster. Fingers crossed he is back home soon. x
- 2014-04-25 00:06 Unknown
- Please could the poster be adjusted to read that "recent sightings include Alveston, Hatton Rock, Hampton Lucy, Charlecote and Snitterfield". He's really getting around and if I use the current poster, or a poster with a specific date on, it's misleading. Thank you very much indeed. He's one in a million I think because I can't remember ever seeing a dog on here where there were so many sightings!! :)
Can't be long now - 2014-04-24 20:18 Unknown
- Second sighting in Alveston this afternoon by a concerned farmer. He was in a cattle field and they didn't much like him. I'd literally JUST left the field next door and by the time I got back he'd run off. Found fresh prints along the edge of the River Avon and the farmer very kindly drove me and my dog all along the river and along the ditches in as many fields as we could access but no sign. Tracks showed that he followed the edge until it became banked and grassy and at that point we lost his paw prints. Could have crossed the river, continued to follow it towards Tiddington (it's quite shallow there) or crossed it back towards Blackhill and Snitterfield.

- Saw Elvis in Alveston (Alveston Lane) this morning at 7am. By the time I'd found the poster with owner's phone number he had vanished. Have left message with owner and alerted other dog walkers in the village. We will keep looking, hope he turns up again soon.
