- Julie I've been checking this for an update from Jade re tomorrow.....but I'm so sorry I can't do tomorrow now!!! I've got visitors from Manchester here on route to Portmouth,we are going out for lunch, I assumed Jade couldn't make it as by mid afternoon today nothing about tomorrow had been put on, also coming back from Liecester last night the wipers went on my car, terrifying!! so I need to sort that out as well ..... again so Sorry both of you, Jamie did some postering round there, but I guess for Jade it would be nice t go and look around the area for herself, and would be nice to speak with the "sitters" xxx !!
- 2012-12-15 17:17 Julie
- Jade - can you let me know if you want to go to Rugby tomorrow - no problem either way, just need to organise the day :-)

- 2012-12-13 17:06 Julie
- Jade - I've emailed all vets and dog walkers that cover Rugby as well as the dog training club. I tried to email the dog warden for Rugby but it kept bouncing back so I did one to the general enquiries and one to the Coventry Dog Warden as well. I'll also email B'ham dogs home as well just to alert them.

- 2012-12-12 19:17 jade
- Duke is a friendly dog with people and dogs and would walkers i would think. Unless he felt threatened. He would chase cat, pigeon, squirrel etc. Thank you all for your time and help. I will let you know about sunday, i think my son is going out with his nan so should be fine. But will still let you know. I 100% need to go birmingham dog home when i get the money to get the train over. Because if he is there he would get rehomed.
Again thank you xx - 2012-12-12 17:28 Julie
- Jade - Lynn and I have come up with a plan. Postering is happening around the village and surrounding area over the next few days (some have already gone up). I'll do a lot of emailing to vets/pdsa/rescues/dog wardens etc. I know you've done some but it doesn't matter if we double up and it's better than missing one.
If you want to on sunday I could take you to the village and we could have a look around - Lynn can do a couple of hours around lunchtime. Let me know x - 2012-12-12 16:57 Julie
- Jade - is Duke a people friendly dog - would he approach people/houses if he was hungry?
Also is he a dog friendly dog - would he approach people out walking their dogs?
Lynn and I are putting our heads together so don't feel alone with this :-)

- Hi lynn, 45918 i have looked and he hasnt got white on front paw. Also tonight i have spoken to a lady in coventry who found a dog late last night she gave to dog warden early hours this morning. I have showed her a link of duke on dog lost and photos and she advised me to phone and go and see, which i am first thing tomorrow. I have asked her several question about duke that match but the strangest thing of all is that she found him near my old address where i lived with duke for a year and a half. She said he kept pulling her to the same direction. She asked people in the area but no one claimed and no one was looking for him. But he wanted to be at that area. Markings are similar but she doesnt want to be 100%. My old address is in wood end coventry cv2. Would that of bin possible for him to of got there. But then i need to think did he get off where im being told. But will still follow it up tomorrow x
- 2012-12-11 23:14 Lynn

- Jade just try the ones in Harborough Magna there's only about 4 ..the first 4, I will be in work, and as we are packing up the office as you know I have limited resources, but I will try and phone some as well for you .xx
- 2012-12-11 22:34 Lynn
- I think he would be a tough guy and be able to look after himself and survive in the wild, I've been told lost dogs learn very quickly how to fend for themselves and can live wild for a long time they aren't stupid either so he will find shelter, it's a pity on the weather, but if we can get out there we will do what we can,and try and spread the word, my son is a teacher in a village a few miles from there and he is going to aslo poster and spread the word , alot of staff and pupils come from all around those villages, but if you could manage to call some farmers and the pub, that would be good and at least they could be on the look out for him, really hoping he is holed up somewher, and still quite local,I will txt Julie about 3 ish to let her know what the weather is like over here and take it from there.xxx
- 2012-12-11 22:29 jade
- I just went on that link and as you go down the page, it loads up more farms in CV23 & CV22 could all these be possibilities???? As i haven't got credit, if i can use a friends phone tomorrow, i will try phone as many as possible. When i am at home all i can do is email and internet. Thanks you lynn for all the effort you going to find these things for me. I owe you all so much. Xx
- 2012-12-11 22:19 jade
- I dont mind when you can go up there i am just grateful of the help and support i have bin getting. I totally understand the weather and that makes it difficult. Thank you for the reasurence that he should be ok. This may sound silly but could wild animals got him if he was injured or even the worst like i.e. fox.
- 2012-12-11 22:14 Lynn
- Jade another thought , here is a link to yell with a list of farms there , would you be able to call them and see if they have seen him at all? if some farmer has found him hes not chipped!it's worth some phone calls and there's not that many. xx
http://www.yell.com/s/farmers-harborough+magna.html - 2012-12-11 21:58 Lynn
- Hi Jade , ok it was just a thought, and I was thinking that all possibilities need to be covered, we are still hoping to poster tomorrow and ask around! but! it is very very foggy here, and icy roads , as it's out in the country it's worse, so we might have to re arrange if it's still bad as we would be going out early evening,..........one thing you could do is to call Rugby FM & Free Radio, and see if they could mention him ? also contact The Old Lion Pub at Harborough Magna 01788 833238 and ask if anyone knows or have heard anything , we wil poster there though, if we do get to go over tmorrow, hopefully he has found somewhere warm to shelter and being loads of farms there would be food easy enough. xxx
- 2012-12-11 21:44 jade
- Hi lynn, i do think some bits are suspicious. But i dont see why see wouldn't just say, she has mentioned everytime, that she's going through alot at the min, and that there's loads of fields etc, so she done what she can. But i do agree. I dont hang around with her or anything, and with her attitude at the min, i would of thought she would say i got rid of him. But i could be wrong but alot of people are fond of duke and these people know duke isn't hers and know where she lives, so i would believe that would of got back to me. But like i said could be wrong. So unsure what to do about that lynn.
- 2012-12-11 12:25 Lynn
- Jade I'm wondering if it's worth contacing the police on this, due to the lack of help from the people who "lost" Duke,..... you could maybe air your worries to them as IF he has been sold on , he has been stolen!!! maybe a co ordinator on here could advise you more, but I do think that the circumstances are suspicuos, as Julie said , I would be mortified if I lost someones dog , and would go all out to help/inform authorities etc,it seems to be that they have said "he's lost what can we do about it" a poor attitude!!, I do think this needs to be looked into further! Julie and I will still poster for you tomorrow, and try and ask around and see if anyone has seen him or heard what has happened. xx
- 2012-12-11 11:12 jade
- Hi thank you for checking. Yeah i thought it could be duke until i seen his front paws. Also i have been contacted from the highway patrol within the area and they haven't had any info or sighting of a dog that fits dukes description. But they said they'll contact if any info.
- 2012-12-11 10:59 Lynn
- Hi Shell , thank you well spotted! yes in doubt now it could be Duke, but Jade when you read this still worth you looking! thanks guys.xx
- 2012-12-11 10:19 Shell
- Duke appears to have 2 white front paws and 46101 doesn't. Worth checking though.
- 2012-12-11 10:04 Lynn
- sas2506 thank you!! just had a look, and he does look very similar! albeit a distance to where he went missing! but he could have been picked up and dumped! Is there anyone who could phone Jade and call the number? and check please, as I'm in work , with limited time , thank you ! xx
- 2012-12-11 08:51 sas2506
- Could this be found dog 46101 ?
- 2012-12-10 20:41 B30
- Lynn and Julie, thank you so much for helping Jade XX
- 2012-12-10 20:18 Lynn
- If any other dogslost helpers could help us, Julie & I are postering Harborough Magna Nr Rugby, around 4.30 - 5.30 ish on Wednesday, x
- 2012-12-10 20:10 jade
- Will do.. thank you.. xx
- 2012-12-10 19:37 Lynn
- Jade all arranged , will update after we've postered, keep updating on here who you've contacted etc. xxx
- 2012-12-10 19:31 Lynn
- ha ha Julie you did !! and just think more running = more mince pies ! Jade no problem we will soon get some up for you,and try and speak to people to ask them to keep a look out,my son has just infrmed me there's a garage there as he had his car fixed by them, so we can poster there, also see if we can post through any farm houses,Jade you just try and do internet based stuff! fingers crossed for you. xx
- 2012-12-10 19:20 jade
- Thank you so much. I have contacted most places in rugby. I am going to go job centre to phone railway and motorway as i haven't got credit. Only internet on my phone. I have been advised to go and views dogs at birmingham dog home as they have had a silly amount of staffy within the last two weeks. So i also need to do that when i get my money.
- 2012-12-10 19:16 Julie
- What did I say about crossing messages! And I did the running last time :-)
As well as highways you can also contact the railway police. - 2012-12-10 19:11 Julie
- We keep crossing messages :-) but no it's really fine and definately not a question of not helping - it works well in pairs - one in the car and one to jump out and put the poster up. Unless the sitter is willing to meet you and give more info then we'll get that part done. Have you contacted rescue centres, vets, pdsa in all surrounding areas? If you can email info to them and ask them to spread the word that will get his poster out there as well. x
- 2012-12-10 19:09 Lynn
- Jade you can help from home, by conatcting all the local dog wardens etc, council pounds / kennels to see if he has been handed in!contact highway agencies to see if they have found him, ( all numbers are in phone book) and e mailing vets to ask to keep a look out.x
- 2012-12-10 19:05 Lynn
- Julie I was thinking the same!!! Jade much too cold to be out with a baby!! me and Julie will run (ha ha) ? around put some posters up and put a few through some letter boxes I think there's only the pub there , no shops etc so will just pop some around where we can , and also drop one into the pub xx
- 2012-12-10 18:57 jade
- My baby father most probably could have him. But if it is better for me to be there then i dont mind. So totally up to you, but dont want it to feel like I'm not helping.
- 2012-12-10 18:49 Julie
- Jade - as you have such a young baby would it be easier if Lynn and I do the postering on wednesday? If the girl who had Duke is not willing to meet up then Lynn and I could put the posters up easily - we've done it before together.Last edited: 2012-12-10 19:03:23 by Julie

- Julie and lynn - Words cant explain how much i appreciate this. Thank you
- 2012-12-10 18:47 Lynn
- Jade liase with Julie, and I will meet you both in the pub carpark , whatever time suits Julie, I don't have loads of time what with job hunting etc , and I know Julie is the same , but we will get some posters up, and cross our fingers for you. Julie thank you so much for your help again!!, txt me or msg me on FB a time. xxx ANY OTHER DL HELPERS THAT COULD ALSO HELP POSTER AND MEET US ON WEDNESDAY NOT SURE OF TIME YET MAYBE TEA TIME ?
- 2012-12-10 18:47 jade
- Yes wednesday is fine, is thats ok. I will try and contact them.
- 2012-12-10 18:43 jade
- Her brother is ten yrs old. He ran off from him on hawthorn terrace. This girl has split with my good friend she doesn't care but will still try and get more info. Her dads really really ill. She said she's got priority on her own, she said sorry for not meeting with me sooner.
- 2012-12-10 18:38 Lynn
- Jade an awful situation, I feel for you and I would be furious!!!Julie and I will help as much as we can , but we are both about to lose our jobs ( albeit different offices) so limted funds to print etc, but we could help poster around there on Wednesday, it will be too dark to look around as if I remember not alot of street lights, as I say it's mainly fields and farms, but we can get posters up and see if you get a response, but I do think your friend and especially her brother need to meet us too , and give us some clue of where he was walking Duke. xx
- 2012-12-10 18:33 jade
- Yes the girl said there's loads of fields etc. I dont think she is doing anything to help. I have never bin to her house before but thats where she lives. I am so devastated. Duke was a goodfriends dog but he was unable to look after him so whilst we made arrangements to collect him. this girl (my goodfriends girlfriend) was looking after him and we where due to meet up so i could get my dog back but he went missing before that happened unfortunately. But prior to this i have grew up with duke from a newborn pup. I cant expect or rely on her to get any help from anyone she knows, as she has already let me down. Also i have an 11month old baby and there's only so much i can do and i cant believe how much help i am getting from the public. Thank you so much its amazing. I just cant give up on him.
- 2012-12-10 18:33 Julie
- Jade - if you want to go ahead with Lynns plan let me know and I'll pick you up. We could go straight to the pub and meet Lynn or if they are willing to help we could go to the sitters and collect them if they don't have transport.
- 2012-12-10 18:29 Julie
- Jade - like Lynn I've got to admit while it could be exactly as is being said it could also be that he has been sold. If I had lost someone else's dog I would feel so terrible there is no way I wouldn't remember what day it was - even if I wasn't the one walking him. Also I would have contacted the owner immediately - you can leave messages very easily even if you can't immediately get in touch - let alone for 4 days.
She says she did a little search - where was this?
I understand that even if you have doubts you feel you have to cover every option and put up posters etc for Duke and I'd be very happy to help if you want me to.
Still think it would be a good idea to meet with the girl who had Duke and try to pin things down a bit but will leave that with you as you know her. - 2012-12-10 18:24 Lynn
- Julie good idea to ask sitters to help us and get a rough idea of where he last saw him!! Jade can they meet us at the Old Lion Harborough Magna to help? Julie you sort out a time to suit and i will fit in , Wednesday pm onwards is fairly free, xxLast edited: 2012-12-10 18:26:11 by Lynn

- Jade and Lynn - could do wednesday but will be 4pm before I'm back in Coventry. Can also do a few posters - my job is going soon so can't do as I would like to :-(
Do you want to arrange something for wednesday?
Could we ask the girl who had Duke to come with us to pinpoint the area - she must have gone and looked when her brother told her he had run off? - 2012-12-10 18:13 Lynn
- I can print a few posters off , but our office closes down on Friday and we are in the process of packing up , I can poster some maybe wednesday,Jade are you sure this girls brother has lost Duke? as it seems odd he doesn't know very much about where or when he went missing? I'm going to be honest and upfront with you, and ask if it's possible he has sold him ? how well do you know him/them? do they live in Harborough Magna or Rugby? did he take him to Harboroug Magna to walk him ? maybe he doesn't know the area if he lives in Rugby, ( as I don't know it that well) sorry Jade so many questions? but really need to cover all avenues and find out where Duke is . xxxxLast edited: 2012-12-10 18:18:35 by Lynn
- 2012-12-10 18:11 jade
- Thats exactly what i thought, considering she was doing me a favour i couldn't be any more confused. She admits that on the day she had a little search but didn't actually report him till two days later. She said she's had so much to deal with she cant remember the day as it was over two weeks ago. I am also not ruling out whether or not duke has been stolen or sold but she swears he hasn't. Everyday i still check selling sites just incase. But also cant rule out if he's still out there. We where ment to meet before he went missing but she didn't read my fb messages till he had already gone. I didn't find out until about 4days after he ment to of got off. Xx
- 2012-12-10 18:01 Lynn
- Jade, Harborough Magna is rght out in the country , and miles away from Rugby train station, can you go onto link i've posted about the area? yowill be able to see then where this area is, CV23 0HL is the postcode look it up on street view, is this where Duke was staying? or being walked? there's miles and miles of fields, it's very rural, I can try and go over and poster in the week for you, what a horrible situation, are these people who was looking after him helping you? have they got friends who could help as well?thers lots of farms etc out there, and one village pub which could have a poster put in. xx
- 2012-12-10 18:00 jade
- Yes wednesday would be amazing. I dont have a computer at home so need to go library and print posters. But wont be able to print them till friday. So unsure what to do.
- 2012-12-10 18:00 Julie
- Have been thinking about the info above - why is the person who was looking after Duke not sure of where or the date he was lost?
- 2012-12-10 17:53 jade
- The situation is complicated a girl i know had duke and he ran off when he was with her brother. Yes on or near hawthorn terrace is where he got off. Unfortunately i dont rugby at all really. I dont have contact with much of my family, so have no-one that can drive me there so i can put posters up. When i get paid i could get the train over and i have map apps on my phone. I have kept asking her the exact location and what's around but when i do get a reply it is brief. And i would definitely want to do a search/postering session.
- 2012-12-10 17:45 Lynn
- A link to the area , you will see very close to motorways!

- Just seen where Hawthorn Terrace is !!! it's not Bilton which is where I thought, but Harborough Magna!!!! I wont get there tomorrow!! will try during the week, there's lots and lot's of countryside around there, postcode is CV23 0HL, how about trying to organise a search/postering session with a few of us ? x
- 2012-12-10 16:42 Lynn
- I will try and go that way tomorrow and put some posters up and share on FB, was Hawthorn Terrace where he went missing? does anyone know what field he chased the cow in ? x

- Very near a fbook friend of mine she is going to spread the word and keep her eyes open - she's not very mobile otherwise she would probably help. Good luck. He's been facebooked and my friend in Rugby has done too xx

- Postcode amended to CV23. Duke's owner cannot get to Hawthorn Terrace area to poster so PLEASE CAN ANYONE IN THE AREA PUT A FEW POSTERS UP.
- 2012-12-09 22:31 JD
- The owner alerted us to Duke a few days ago and we advised to post on DL. None of the pounds we cover have had this boy in. He is still out there somewhere.

- Thanks for the update Jade. I've amended the details above. Get lots of posters up, hopefully somebody has taken him in. This is probably in the info that Lizzy has sent but as well as BHDH you need to contact Pheasants Nest Boarding Kennels 01676 540608, Dunsmore Kennels 024 7654 2566, Forest Lodge Kennels 01604 862239. Get there email addresses and then you can email them Duke's poster with all his photos on directly from this page

- Owner has contacted the council and Birmingham Dogs Home and sent in photos of Duke. One lady said he has probably gone by now but she said she had a good memory and didn't remember seeing him at all. It is difficult not really knowing the exact area he has gone missing from as to whether to contact the Highways Agency or Railtrack. I will check sites on the internet.
