Hi everyone ,we continued our search but still no sign ,we miss him so much ,thankyou SherwoodOwl .i am going to put the poster pic in the Newark Advertiser as it covers a good area just in case someone has him ,thankyou for everyones help & messages ,kind regards Violet
I am still keeping an eye open for him in the Collingham area for you Violet, if I get any even the vaguest sighting I will let you know.
Hi Sue ,thank you very much ,much appreciated ,i too put an ad in Countryman's ,it will be 3 weeks tomorrow ,hope someone calls me and he's safe .kind regards Violet
Advertised in this weeks Countrymans Weekly magazine. I hope it brings some news.
Hi everyone ,just an update ,we have extended our search for Charlie and spoke to the locals who gave advice on areas they have seen our dogs ,thye land is very sandy around here so maybe he has not gone to ground ,maybe picked up or stolen ,i have also handed out leaflets to a local game keeper and others ,thank you to Mick & Lee & Owl for your time ,efforts and support ,very much appreciated ,kind regards Violet
Oh dear,so sorry Charlie has not been found:((((
Many thanks to Mick and Lee from the Fell & Moorland who came and searched the warren thoroughly with their own fell terrier. We took Toby there as well but today he showed no particular interest in any particular holes though he searched several of them. Mick and Lee also checked a number of holes closer to the house where Charlie is known to hunt, but sadly today we have drawn a blank. I have bumped his page up to the top as he was not found where we thought he might be, and we have to think again.
Hi everyone ,still no sign of Charlie ,Owl & Wispa came over to continue the rabbit hole search ,Toby still going down same holes but still nothing ,it's 10 days now , A big thank you to Owl & Wispa again ,much appreciated ,kind regards Violet
We will be coming over again tomorrow and would like to start at the big rabbit holes where Toby got excited. It could be that Charlie is somewhere in that network of holes, maybe further along.
Hi everyone ,we went out last night for a couple of hours with Toby (our other Jack Russell in picture with Charlie ) ,after an hour or so of searching Toby came across some huge rabbit holes ,he kept digging and whining ,he also came out the hole and jumped up my partners legs then went back down ,i really am not sure if he was getting excited about catching a rabbit or if he was trying to tell us something ,any advice will be much appreciated ,i am going back to that area today ,kind regards Violet
Hi everyone ,just an update really ,Owl came over with Gorgeous Wispa who circled a well known haunt of Charlie's ,i will continue the search over the weekend and maybe later this evening ,A big thank you to Owl & Wispa ,much appreciated ,kind regards Violet
Thank you Owl. I am so pleased that you and Wispa are trying to help her....hope things go well.
Good luck tomorrow Owl
Wispa and I are going to help tomorrow in the hope that we can find a trail and narrow down the area Charlie was hunting in. It would be an old trail but it's definitely worth a try.
Hi everyone ,i have just contacted Countryman's Weekly and Charlie will be in next weeks issue ,thankyou to everyone again for their kind messages and advice ,kind regards Violet
Hi there Sue ,thankyou for your advice .Ispoke to a guy called David from Fell & Moorland ,he gave me some advice ,i got 3 more dogs ,they cannot pick anything up ,i will get in touch with Countryman's Weekly thanks ,much appreciated ,kind regards Violet
I remember dear Toffee and I'm so sorry that Charlie has now gone missing Violet.

Please call the Fell and Moorland Club, the email Lizzy has sent your should have all the details. They don't have members in all areas but even if they don't have someone who can help in person they can give you advice.

Do you have any other dogs or know anyone who could walk the ground with another dog who could maybe give you an indication if Charlie is underground?

I'll advertise Charlie asap in the Countryman's Weekly magazine in case someone has picked him up
Violet, I have left a message on your first mobile number with the number of a Fell and Moorland man who is always worth talking to. He knows a lot of terrier people, there may be a member of their network in your area. If Charlie has gone to ground he should be able to survive for a long time as long as he has access to rabbits and small rodents and to water. Water probably won't be a problem right now, there is usually some seeping through somewhere. Your best bet for searching is to go very late or very early when there is minimum background noise, then whistle and call down holes and listen. I left you my numbers as well, please give me a call.
Hi Violet - will keep a look out for Charlie - hope he's safe and returns home soon. Have you considered putting a message out on Lincs FM? We did this when our dog went missing over Christmas and they were very helpful. Also, try to contact emergency vets - the one at North Hykeham especially will take emergencies from this area if they are found out of hours. This is how we got our dog back, because they checked through this website and contacted us. Hope this helps - keep your chin up xxx
Hi SherwoodOwl , i already spoke to Val at Halfway House ,my daughter does voluntry work there ,thanks again ,regards Violet
I will be out walking the countryside around Collingham this evening with my dogs, I will keep my eyes open for him just in case he has come down this way.

It may be worth speaking with Val at the Halfway Dogs Home between Collingham & Swinderby just in case someone finds him & takes him there directly.

Hope he is found & back home soon.Last edited: 2012-03-07 16:40:07 by SherwoodOwl

Spoke to owner, she lost a dog last year who was on here called Toffee, so is very upset over Charlie going missing. He went off with their Greyhound who came back without him. Charlie has gone off before but has always come home after 5 days. Unfortunately the area is full off rabbit holes, so he cannot be pinned down to 1 area. DW has been informed and vets and owner is going to put a poster in the local one-stop.
Info and Advice sheet sent.
Sorry to see that CHARLIE is missing.
