Thankyou very much to everyone for your help and kind concern.Unfortunately we have had no luck finding our cherished little dog.We try to remain hopeful if rather sad.We have searched extensively, with the help of freinds, forestry professionals,on foot,by car and, quad bike.We have postered, informed neighbours for many miles around, forestry workers, timber wagon drivers. Thanks for the suggestion Carole,I spoke to the rather sympathetic rally secretary before the rally,I had high hopes for some news of Lottie that weekend, but alas nothing.Once again, thanks to everyone,we have had much kind help.Last edited: 2012-05-11 12:07:40 by Lotties Owner

Lets hope the advert helps get her home safe soon. Check any used/unused barns, stables, sheds in the area she went missing. Good luck.

I live in Wark forest and there was a Rally within the area on 27th and 28th. Prior to this people from the rally were all over the forest itself putting up direction signs etc. There was a lot of traffic with spectators and organisers. It may be worth contacting the Rally organisers to see if anyone either had a sighting or picked up the dog. It was the Pirelli Rally and the club was based in Cumbria. The Forestry commission allowed the event so should have the details. Good luck. Out every day with eyes open.

Lottie is 3 years old and went missing on a walk on Saturday in an area of very dense forest land. She is familiar with the area and hasn't gone missing before. So far there have been no reported sightings of her.
She is microchipped and is wearing a collar with ID tag.
If found she should be reported to the dog warden as is required by LAW.
Owner is going to alert the microchip company that she is missing. County dog warden and boundary dog warden have been contacted.
The forest ranger is aware that Lottie is missing and has been helping with the search and has tried tracking her with his dog.
Owner has been returning to the spot that she went missing. Advice given on scenting and setting up feeding station and visiting the area at dawn/dusk.
Advised to try for media coverage on local radio and in local newspaper.
Owner is going to poster area and surrounding area in the hope that this leads to some sightings.
Fingers crossed for some news of this much loved pet.

Sorry to see that LOTTIE is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (38903)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
