So sorry to see that Toby is still missing. I know it's a strange thing to suggest, but a friend of ours lost their dog and 'dog lost' gave them the details of a psychic medium. Fortunately, the psychic medium was accurate and led the owners to find the dog. It's a long shot, but dog lost may be able to help. Fingers crossed for his safe return. The dog was called 'Marco' and they lived in the South East. All the best..

hi everyone
susan posted a heartfelt plea on tobys facebook for a safe return of her much loved toby, i plead with the people who have toby if they are reading this post, may i add that there is a reward for tobys safe return , if you are the person/s who have toby and found it in your hearts to give him back it can be arranged a mutual place that toby can be handed back at your convenience and time to suit yourselfs ,myself being a dog lover would arrange a meeting please give him back to the loving family that he belongs to ,you dont have to be known at all maybe you have aquired toby not knowing he is a missing pet , the children miss him so much as i think toby misses his family, he is coming up for a birthday very soon so come on if you have toby find it in your heart to give him up, and let him have his birthday with his proper family, there are places local that toby can be taken to , to ensure his safe return to susan or email myself on tony-christine@hotmail.co.uk, i have searched with this family for 3 weeks now and susan is exhausted with 3 small children to care for and a full time job, i would love nothing more than to take toby home to susan ,PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE if you have toby or know who has got him LET HIM COME HOMELast edited: 2012-04-29 15:20:47 by princess54

Have spoken to a local groomer who is looking out for Toby (they may try to change his appearance as he's now so famous) and telling their regulars about him. Apparently all the lhasa owner's are well aware of him being missing, no wonder!
I think it's worth still looking in rescues or for lhasa's being sold as they may try to get rid of him now they know everyone is looking for him
x

Not much to update lots of irons in the fire if you like that the police are following up and the many helpers that I have are investigating I have emailed the local news and a national newspaper to see if we can get any coverage I will keep you informed of any developements. thank you for your on going support x

Absolutely brilliant Susan! That's okay, they all need to be checked out and I am so glad you have good help out there. Bumping again due to sightings. x
missingtoby
Toby now has a facebook page HELP FIND TOBY so if you are on facebook please join! From all our leafleting we have received calls of possible sightings which is positive that so many people are looking I've now got people delivering leaflets around where they live so there will be even more people looking. I feel sorry for people just out walking there dogs that look like Toby as they are being followed and all sorts but if it leads us to Toby I am sure they will understand. We already have over 1000 members on the facebook page x
Lynn
Hi, I'm sorry I'm too far away in Warwickshire to help you search on foot, but I keep checking for news and I'm always looking on free ads for so many lost/stolen dog sightings, stay positive, what about appealing on local TV , this has been suggested for quite a few dogs who may have been stolen , also national newspapers might be interested in this kind of story especially with the microchip being in the current spotlight!! it's all worth a try, also I would chase the police re taveller sites and just how much have the police checked these sites looking for Toby as this IS a crime!!and yes also see if they know where they hae moved onto! pester your counciler especially with local elections coming up they are more than willing to help out at this time as they want the publicity!!!, anything that is puplic give it a go , someone obviously knows something!! stay strong and positive with the attitude that you WILL get Toby back! good luck. xx
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
What happened to that travller site? Did they get moved on? Where did they go to? Did police go in and check for Toby? If not, why not? Can you ask the policeman? The information on that first sighting pointed that way. Well done for the newspaper! Bumped up again. I know this is not my area, but I have been following your search and still keep my eyes on this. I so want him to get home very soon for you. You are really do amazing out there. I know it is so very hard, but keep the publicity going. The more people that know, the better. Sometimes it does take a long time, but perseverence is the key. Just keep making him famous. It can be quite normal for these things to go on for a number of weeks, or months, so many get back home eventually, especially when they are chipped and often when they are not. he is out there and we will find him. x
princess54

As princess54 has said we have been putting up lots of posters and visiting the sight of the possible spotting as often as possible. The help I am getting from princess54 and some other people is what keeps me strong and makes me believe this is possible! We were in the local paper again on Saturday featured in an article about the increase in dog theft. Tomorrow night is more leaflet posting and visiting the area he was possibly sighted I have other dog owners who go there looking out too. The police man who is dealing with this had been off since Thursday but will be back on tomorrow so I will be speaking to him about the possible leads and seeing what he can do. If any one is local and can help in any way please let us know. Thank you to everyone for you help and support we will bring Toby home x

Princess54, well done! The first sighting was with a couple with an Irish accent at a boot sale/fair and as I understand it the police were informed. At the same time a group of people were about to be evicted/moved on by the council and police. I understood that police were going to check but don't know that they did? I so hope that Toby was given to the people now seen walking the dog that appears to be him. I also feel the police should still be investigating this matter in relation to that first sighting, maybe they are, but I would suggest owner keeps chasing up police on that. The best way is to continue to make Toby so famous, it makes him too hot to handle. Maybe owner/family/helpers, need to work shifts in this area for the whole of one day to ensure no time lapse. If this dog is walked daily at that location, one of you should see it that way. If it isn't regular, then it could still be missed, but worth a try. Keep those posters going up. You are doing so well out there. If you need something to spur you on, check out Lily's page - just recently reunited after months. You CAN do this! x

JUST TO LET YOU KNOW THE VETS ON HILLYLAID HAVE BEEN TOLD ABOUT TOBY, JUST IN CASE ANYONE TRYS TO REGISTER THERE NEW LHASA

I am going to go to Kneps farm caravan site in the morning as they have a few cameras outside and one might possible cover the road in which case I will see if they can see the car and possible the reg but we are going to poster up there and push leaflets through the doors in the area
Tigermouse
Has anyone put posters in the area of Kneps Farm caravan site, maybe in the cafe near there and along to Skippool Creek - I'm not from round there but I know it's a popular place for dog walkers as I've taken my own there when I've been camping in the area. Unfortunately I can't drive over to help as I'm tied up with family business but I'm thinking of you and hoping you find Toby soon.

I've posted this page on some fb pages for dog grooming etc in the area he's been sighted x

As Toby is chipped it wont be hard to prove that he's your dog.
Good luck xx

Sorry for my delay in posting I work full time, have 3 very young children and a poorly mum and the rest of the time is spent looking for my boy Toby! We are so close we have received 2 calls yesterday of two different people seeing a dog they are certain is Toby on different days in the same area. First sighting is at Stannah Park of him with a couple in their mid 40's driving a green hyundi estate the man saw them before he saw Toby's picture and actually asked them about him and they said a friend had given him to them at the being of April and they don't know how old he is, it was definately a dog and was on a pink lead!! The second call is from a lady who saw the dog being walked by a man on Hillylaid Road (5 mins from Stannah Park, Thornton) on a pink lead and she drove round the block and when she got back he had vanished. This is going to be a case of being there at the right time so if anyone is reading this and is local please can you help we just need to now the registration number of the car or their address and the police will go straight round. Please Please Please Help us get Toby home x
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Owner advised there has been a sighting of a dog believed to be Toby, being walked by two boys and they got him from someone and the dates tie in with Toby's. I advised owner to get in contact with a local co-ordinator who knows the area, and also to pop another post on here. I don't think she has so I am bumping for her. Thanks. x

Hi, I've just come across this... http://www.animalsearchuk.co.uk/view_found_pet.php?petref=AFP53097
missingtoby
Oh phoned about the Lhasa in West Midlands but it's not Toby!
missingtoby
Busy weekend Friday night we did some door knocking and gave out leaflets where he dissapeared from and around Poulton centre. Saturday morning we went to the carboots to put up posters and the carboot organisers were very helpful. Saturday afternoon we searched the fenced off wasteland opposite to the civic centre as there are some small gaps in the fence so wanted to check if they had let him off the lead at the civic centre he hadn't got in there and got stuck but nothing. I have also phoned the people within lancashire who want a Lhasa Apso and have advertised on pre-loved to see if they have been offered Toby. The local paper didn't put the story in on Saturday as their system went down so it will be in tomorrow night instead. Today I have phoned the 3 schools that are along the road Toby went missing on as it happened just before school finish time and they are going to distribute the poster to the pupils. The council are also apparent;y looking at the cctv!!
Neighbark
Poster poster poster - make him too hot to handle - poster in fast food shops - mcDonalds etc., have you offered a reward? and ''No questions asked - just want my dog back". School kids and their parents, other dog walkers would take an interest and be on side.
I have a darling little doggie, also called Toby, and would want to die if he went missing.
Have you started a facebook site for him? Ring local radio stations - tell them about the way he was stolen - try your best to get them to put a word out on air for you! I wish I wasn't so far away - I'd be out there with my toby - looking for your Toby.
God bless - stay strong and be absolutely relentless in your search. Kimmybear's advice is always spot-on.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Absolutely brilliant Susan. Well done! I will bump Toby up due to the press release, if you have a link or more details please pop it/them on here. To fill people in, someone reported seeing a dog we think was Toby with a couple but now we need to locate them. Of course, we can't rule anything out as you never know what happens. Susan, I would also check out the little one Lizzy mentions below, although Toby is chipped, you should visit if possible and check just in case as sometimes chips move and can be missed, especially when an accident has occurred. Also, sometimes ages can be wrong. Speak to the kennels urgently - probably isn't Toby, but you must be absolutely certain. You are doing really well, let's get him home long before his birthday. x
missingtoby
The local paper are going to share are story hopefully on Saturday with pictures of Toby and of us with the poster. The local carboot sales are going to put posters up for me this weekend!! The DW has phoned me and apparently they are trying to sort out the CCTV funnily enough after i mention the local paper where covering the story. Just before Toby went missing he had a urine infection and was on anti-b's so I have mentioned he was on anti-bs to the paper although he finished them a day or so before he still needed to see the vet to check it had cleared!! I have postered in the petrol stations as it is a busy route from Poulton to the motorway so lots of people use them. Tonight we are going door knocking to see if anyone on the street he went missing on saw anything or have CCTV. Toby will be 5 on 11th May, lets get him home for his birthday!!!

Hear hear, Kimmybear!
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
This is not good enough - remember how your Dad had to work to make the police give him a crime number? Well, now you both have to work to make them pursue this crime, because that is what it is. You don't want abducters moving on and taking him with them. If police don't help, go higher, and yes - tell the newspapers and contact the radio station, your MP, anything and anyone. You need to make Toby incredibly famous as has been said. You CAN do it! The harder you work, the harder it will be for police and public (and THEM) to ignore. Toby is registered as stolen with the police; you can use this for publicity. Call the papers now and tell them what happened - get a photo of Toby in the paper. Let's bring you home sweet Toby. x
lesleyjane
Too far away to be of help but I really hope Toby is home soon......as you know, postering everywhere is really important, and keep on at the police and DW, he is out there somewhere. Glad he is microchipped. Have you contacted local newspaper and radio?
missingtoby
Finally back in the country and missing Toby more than ever the house just feels empty and the kids keep asking for him. We haven't had any update on the possible sighting last weekend and the police and dog warden are being very laboured in dealing with us so we are continuing to do all we can.......just want my boy home! Please keep a look out for him x

Just want to add, we still need to check kennels etc. Nothing is written in stone as of yet.

We've had a sighting of Toby, but all I can say right now is PLEASE if you are in/around the area Toby was missing, keep your eyes out for him, especially if you see him at any events or places where people gather or if you see him being walked. Read the description and remember it as it is. Thank you everyone. x

Thanks for the explanation Jayne. I do have details on the dog picked up by the AW's and have checked to see if we have any on DL that is maybe missing/stolen but nothing matches it. The registered owner said they rehomed him the day he was picked up by the AW but do not know the details of who they rehomed him to. x
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Hi Glynafon...Just been on the phone to Majorjet and what she meant to say was owner of the found dog rehomed it to a couple hours before the dog went missing...it is still with the RSPCA and has not been rehomed .
DogLostGlynafon
How could they rehome a found chipped dog on the day he was picked up? What happened to the 7 day rule?
DogLostMajorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
Have liaised with the AW's and Halewood RSPCA, the found is MICROCHIPPED and is not called Toby, he was rehomed the day he was picked up.

We are awaiting Toby's chip number for our records which will help when cross checking. x

Pc David Holmes has just rung and left the crime number BC 1201465. If any one hears anything on other sites please update us on doglost as I have his contact details. They will be checking CTV but can only get it from the council on Tuesday due to the bank holiday. PC Holmes is a....dog owner...

Excellent! Thanks Jayne. x

Have just had owners father on the phone...he was fobbed off by the police the first time...but now armed with the facts he is going down to the station in person to get a crime number...by law the finders should have reported the dog to the police or dogwarden as found...they did not so this now is a theft by finding case.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
This isn't my area but as we are think on the ground at mo am trying to help. This poor dog was taken at the station and not handed in. This constitutes a crime so have advised owner to go to the police, however, she is out of the country and her father is trying to find her dog. He has been to the police twice and they are refusing to help. Advised he must go back again and let them know a dog is property and if its not handed in, that's theft of property. Trying to make him demand a crime number. Emailing owner some basic info; she who is coming back on Tuesday. Asked for Dad's contact number. If anyone can help here, please do so. Thank you. x
