Lady who first contacted me with sighting, has tracked down a couple who have a dog almost identical to one she saw. They live on road at back of bushes dog was seen running into and there dog has a spinal injury. Despite them insisting theirs was not 'straying' it seems likely it was there dog. No similar are missing in any surrounding areas and chances of two of same breed dogs with damaged hind legs seems unlikely.

I searched riding stables, there field opposite and part of Forest to back of it,yesterday. No sign of him. Description given to me was white with tan splodges. I will go out again today and look for him.

Just to clarify. The lady reporting sighting is known to me as helped her sister get her dog back last year. She often gives info on sighted dogs in her area, and I'm very grateful for her info. It seems she spotted him and called him and he stopped and looked like he was going to her but something spooked him and he lopped off. It was then that she saw his rear legs. She went to call RSPCA, vets and wardens to get help for him but none was offered. She went out to look for him and found info from builders of where he went but unfortunately he had gone. Despite damage to read end he was able to " run". Not knowing where else to go for help she phoned me.Last edited: 2016-02-19 08:27:44 by Shelagh

When i first got info it was 12 hours after sighting, went straight there to see, searched fitness center and school, checked area she was said to have gone into but no sight of it, checked allotments in case and searched area, then spent 45 mins driving around the area, there was no sight of dog anywhereLast edited: 2016-02-18 21:58:09

Always puzzles me why when people only report as a sighting rather than trying to get the animal to safety. This one in particular if its "dragging its rear legs". I am guessing it wont be going at speed or even possibly far! I sincerely hope that this poor animal is spotted again soon and hopefully brought to safety!
