So sorry Tia is still missing. Yesterday I emailed her poster to vets all over London, nearest to where she lives. It's just a chance, but someone from one of these practices or their clients may recognise her from the poster. In all 75 vets were contacted, asking them to forward poster to all of their other branches and to display it both in staff rooms and client waiting areas. Hopefully with their other branches included, this will have covered in the region of 100 vets, or probably more. Be lucky Tia, we just need that one pair of eyes to spot you x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Poster shopping centres, yobs/thugs have mothers, mums that go shopping, mums that might see a poster and realise that her son may have stolen a pup. And the mum will realise the pup is too hot to handle. 20 yr olds? Very few live on their own most still live at home with mum and/or a dad. Parents will be paying for the dog food.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Dognappers seize puppy at gunpoint hg.editorial@archant.co.uk 08 June 2007 A MAN out walking his dog was forced to hand over the puppy to a violent gang, who beat him up and threatened to shoot him. The four-strong gang told construction manager Anthony O'Brien they would kill him unless he let go of one-year-old Tia. He resisted at first, but one of the attackers smashed him in the face and made as if to pull a gun from his waistband pocket. "I am totally and utterly in shock," he told the Gazette. "I really thought the guy was going to kill me, and for what, a little dog who is a part of my family and a constant companion to my children." The attack took place on Saturday at 12.25am as Mr O'Brien and a friend walked the Staffordshire bull terrier along Ferncliffe Road, Dalston. A black car with four men inside pulled up alongside the two and two passengers leapt out. ,"One of the men started asking questions about the dog, such as how old she was and what breed she was," said Mr O'Brien. "The guy was patting the dog and was asking the same questions over and over again, so I began to become suspicious. "He was bending down and took hold of her lead when suddenly he stood up and smashed me in the face. "He started going mad, screaming for me to give him the dog. He put his hand down the waistband of his trousers as if to get a gun and was threatening to shoot me, so my mate said: 'Just give him the dog'." Mr O'Brien is convinced his pet, who needs daily medication, is still in Hackney and is appealing for people who have seen her, knows where she is, or has been offered her for sale to come forward in confidence. He is being helped by the website, www.doglost.co.uk, which aims to reunite stolen dogs with their owners. Founder Jayne Hayes said: "This is a growing crime trend and one we are very concerned about." One of the attackers is described as being a light-skinned black man, aged about 25 and 5ft 10ins tall. Have phoned 'The Pet Shop' Amhurst Rd and Ace in Well St. Is anyone able to a couple of posters into these, as they are the only pet shops local where the scum could buy Tia some food. Left details with the animal clinic attached to Tower Hamlets & PDSA Bow. Faxed RSPCA Holloway Rd (there is no Dog Warden for Hackney, dogs are taken to this RSPCA) Faxed Abbey Vets, Citivet, Goddards Well St., emailed Battersea, Blue X, Companion Care Beckton, Dog Trust, all other Goddards, Mayhew, Palmerstones. Does owner have internet access as I have a list of surrounding vets, pet shops etc. but won't have time to do them today. Stay safe little Tia xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hope Tia is returned to you soon. The dregs that took her are unlikely to get anything other than a slapped hand from the Police if they are caught. The strange thing is if you have a dog you are called a dog 'owner' which means that the dog is 'your property'. You must pester the Police even if it has to be on a daily basis. I realise that not all Police Officers are ignorant to the fact that dogs are peoples property (Charlie EBT) but 'pester & poster power'has to be the case in so many of these dog thefts. Stay safe Tia. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, I'm disgusted but not surprised anymore that someone would lose a dog this way. It seems that more and more people feel it is ok to part an owner from their pet. They do not realise how close we get to our pets and how distressing it is for the dog to be parted from its familiar suuroundings. I live near Hoxton but work around Dalston so I will post some pictures and keep a look out for Tia. Hope your little girl is returned asap KimLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Tia's owner was walking with her when the robbery took place at 12.30am between Ferncliffe Road and Down Park Road. A black or dark blue VW Golf (not the really new ones but the one before that) approached and a man got out. This man is 20-25, 5ft 8, had close-cropped dark hair and wore a smart black shirt, trousers and shoes as if he had been out for the evening. He was asking lots of questions about the dog, its age, sex etc and owner became uncomfortable and went to leave, which is when this man punched him in the face. owner refuised to let go of the lead and the man started shouting and swearing and made gestures as if he was pulling a gun from his trousers, which is when owener let go. Duringh incident, a second male, bvlack, 5ft 11 and wearing a white t-shirt, came out of the back passenger seat. there were two other men in the car, both black. They made off towards Dalston and owner says the last three letters of the car reg were FEN. He believes them to be local due to direction they came from and way they made off.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

My heart goes out to you, i am so so sorry that this has happened. How awful.....I am just so upset...I hope the muggers are caught and that sweet Tia is returned to you quickly. I will pray for her safe return and that you will recover from your trauma. Thinking of you at this dramatic time, i presume the police are involved?
