Thanks Me n my girl I went through with wildwhippies on how to search on the AW site.

HEIDI could be anywhere now and best option would be to just search on Greyhound and follow up any black FOUND regardless of sex as the AW's have been known to get the sex wrong. The AW site is not like DL and the postcodes on their site is where the FINDER or person lives who is reporting the details and not where the dog has actually been FOUND or LOST Many a match has been missed due to the postcode option they use. The AW site has been known to also have FOUND/MISSING details mixed up. :(

Wild Whippies just seen your post. What I did was put greyhound in search box on left hand side, then PR8 in postcode box then hit the search button. She is still there on the site I'd give them a ring as they should be able to tell you where she is now or help you find her. Good Luck

Hi, I did post on here yesterday (via moby) but it hasn't posted. The bitch found in M41 postcode is not Heidi.
After liasing with Majorjet, there appears to be 2 greyhounds found by animal wardens. One in L4 and one in WA4 the latter entered as a male. Both details have been forwarded to the owner for them to make enquiries.

I can't see a white mark on the chest but check out CAGED Northwest's fb page about 5.00pm today just in case; greyhound found x

Thanks to all those helping search / share for Heidi. No news today I'm afraid. New owner has been to all the vets and farms in the area with her details. Many horse riders and stables in the area also been informed. Checks made with Leigh Cats and Dogs. Police / Dog Warden already informed yesterday.
There was a greyhound found 5/12/15 in the Old Hall area of Warrington which was causing some confusion on social media. That dog was reunited last night (has been moved to reunited section on here) ID number 95640.
Bo
I spent a couple of hours looking and will try and get there again tomorrow. I've nothing more to add other than dogs go missing - dogs get found. Support and help all eh.

Bo: Doglover and Jenny haven't actually pointed the finger at the transporters, just remarked that too many dogs seem to have gone missing lately when being handed over. This does seem to have happened a few times in the last 3 weeks - Peter the Cypriot dog and a dog on the motorway since spring to mind particularly (especially as we spent hours and hours and lots of boot leather looking for Peter!). Obviously, you are very careful about handover moments but perhaps not everyone is and they need to be particularly careful at a very vulnerable moment in the journey. The other problem, as you say, is of course that the rescue dogs seem to keep escaping in the early days/weeks of their life with their new owners. Maybe the various rescues need to emphasise to the new owners just what measures they need to make sure they take at all times to avoid this happening and endangering the dogs.

THANK YOU to everyone who is helping in the searches and spreading the word. Rooting for HEIDI be found soon.

Updated photo and details last night and shared on fb.x
Bo
Shared and I will help look later after I have spent 6 hours transporting 2 stray dogs from a pound to the safety of their rescue.

Dog lover/Jenny4
The overwhelming majority of dogs missing on this fantastic web site are NOT by transporters (who voluntary spend hours and hours transporting unknown dogs up and down the motorway day in and day out) but by their owners. I would suggest the point of this great doglost team is to support and advise - for the record I've never lost a dog - but if it does ever happen perhaps I'll keep it off here to avoid the snide comments eh?

I have shared with doglost FB group & Twitter. Hope Heidi is safely back at home soon. X

If she has just gone into rescue the Microchip will only be registered to the GBGB and it will be blank when scanned. many owners think their name is on the chip and it isnt. it just says GBGB and thats it. Please call petlog and pop a temporary tel number on there so someone can call you if she is found. If not sure of chip number ring the GBGB first thing on 02078220900 ext 1 and quote her race name or tattoos and they will be able to give you her chip number. You can call petlog then on 01296 336579 to pdate chip temporarily x Im sure you know this so apologies if so but just incase you didnt I thought it best to say. Hope she is found soon xxLast edited: 2015-12-09 23:17:12 by houndiegirl

Have made contact with wildwhippies and got the following info:

HEIDI has come to the kennels this morning via greyhound transporter. The collar appears to have not been tightly fitted and she's slipped as the transporter has took her in.
She is ear marked and microchipped but they won't be transferred over yet. No photo available. There is a number of people out looking for her.

Sorry to see that HEIDI STILL MISSING IS A RESCUE DOG AND MAYBE VERY NERVOUS is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (95700)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
