- Hi everyone, just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who was looking for Rosie. She is home, safe and warm. She is nervous after being on her 11 day adventure but she is slowly getting back to herself.

- Linda - Rosie was found by a lady in a ditch in Kingston Blount. She put a photo on Facebook which I saw and recognised it as Rosie and called and gave her the owners number. I think she was back with her owner very quickly. The power of doglost and Facebook :) I'd love to know how she's doing now.Last edited: 2015-05-28 13:36:01 by Ruth

- Met my friend this morning who has Irish Red and White Setter and she said they are often mistaken for Brittany and vice-versa. I have been passing the word to everyone I see, I hope the posters are going up now?
- 2015-05-24 15:35 Lakin93
- Hi thanks for looking, unfortunately it isnt her :(
- 2015-05-24 11:27 Ellie
- If you google 'lost dogs in Chinnor Friday Ad'
- 2015-05-24 11:24 Ellie
- There is a Brittany for sale on Friday AD. She's down as Xana a 3 year old. I know it's a long shot but could you please look at her. She seems to have come on the scene around the time that Rosie went missing. I know that she's not elderly but you never know!
- 2015-05-23 19:23 Lakin93
- Hi yes we have been looking everywhere, all the surrounding fields. We are really trying. Just difficult with young children.
- 2015-05-23 11:19 Ellie
- Has anyone from the family been out and looked for Rosie? If so where have you looked? Posters need to go up quickly because by now Rosie could be a long way away. The longer it's left the less chance we have of finding her! People need to know that Rosie is out there and needs to get home. Have you looked around the fields where she went missing or along the fields to crowell and beyond? With the Bank Holiday weekend here, there are likely to be a lot of people out walking with their dogs as well as families out walking and cyclists too.We need to act quickly! - I walked at Emmington yesterday evening and spoke to a farmer on his very tall tractor, gave him the details and he said he would keep a look out for Rosie.
- 2015-05-22 12:06 Lakin93
- Still no sign of her. Think all that stuff is being sorted out today.
- 2015-05-22 11:21 LindaT
- I haven't seen any posters for Rosie yet :-( Looked all around @ Chinnor Hill off Hilltop Lane whilst out last evening, in fact looking all the time whilst out & about. Really think the posters need to go up, or small flyers through doors.
- 2015-05-22 11:08 Ellie
- Is there any update on Rosie?
- 2015-05-21 11:26 Ellie
- So in my calculation would that be towards the top of the Glynswood estate in the fields there? If so she would be heading towards Oakley Road and somebody must have seen her! Or she could have kept in the fields and headed towards Watlington! So you need to make sure that there are posters along that direction.Last edited: 2015-05-21 11:29:51 by Ellie
- 2015-05-21 10:17 Lakin93
- She was in the field by the old steam railway station and ran away from the estate so away from the hills.
- 2015-05-21 09:47 Ellie
- When she ran away, do you know what direction she ran in? Was it towards the main road (Chinnor Hill Road) or was it further on to the estate (towards Crowell) or was it across towards the lakes and the Ridgeway? probably seems a funny question but it might be helpful to ascertain the direction she went so that we know the places that she may be heading for!
- 2015-05-21 08:41 Lakin93
- I have checked it out and it is not Rosie, she is a lot lighter brown than that and she does not have a tail!
Rosie should have a collar on with my mums contact phone number. - 2015-05-21 07:42 LindaT
- A very long shot but Found dog 87095 is listed as a Springer Spaniel, sex and unusual markings are to be identified by potential owners. The markings are not the same in the photo however there may be a possibility that if the photo has been displayed in reverse then could these markings be the opposite side of what is on Rosie`s coat? Picked up on 18th May in Camp Bisley, GL6 which is near Marleyebone, London, but it`s not impossible for a dog to end up there if it was picked up and dumped. Have texted contact to check it out, nothing to lose. Have just seen it says Stroud, google maps came up with Marylebone, Stroud isn`t too far if a dog has been picked up & dumped from this area. - Hi Slater 1993, if your Mum rings my mobile which I used to text you the other night, then I am happy to collect some posters and put up further afield as I walk in various places such as Bledlow,Saunderton,Bradenham, Cadsden,Wendover etc. Afraid my printer no longer works properly & I haven`t replaced it yet:-( What size is Rosie? She looks like a Red and White Irish Setter which is also a rare breed, is the photo of her as an adult against a puppy GS? I`ve been checking the SDK (lostdogsuk.co.uk) website but not listed as yet; if Rosie has no collar on then posters are the only way a finder will immediately be able to contact you. I have copied her photo onto my phone & have been showing anyone I meet. Hope there is a sighting soon.Last edited: 2015-05-21 07:10:15 by LindaT

- Chinnor parish council has a Facebook page and will share posts on there, so worthwhile the daughter posting to there. I've tried and can't do it from my mobile. I've shared on personal FB as live in chinnor, but she could be much further afield by now. I lost my dog in chinnor and overnight she made it 5 miles away to different village so posters will need to be put up around local villages too. Ultimately it was the tag that brought our dog home though.
- 2015-05-20 18:55 Ellie
- It's a tricky one. She's probably still wandering about. Have you been searching all around the area. There again somebody could have her and perhaps thinking she's a stray is keeping hold of her, which is when the posters will come in to their own. When people see them they will know that she is a much loved pet and somenody is missing her! Posters will need to be put up where dog walkers are and around the village so that news gets out.

- My mum just wanted to me to add that our other dog (german sheperd) came back when let off lead but Rosie ran off but has never ran off from him before. She is a rare bread and is worried someone has taken her. What do we think?Last edited: 2015-05-20 18:28:55 by Lakin93

- Have also contacted K9 trackers too, hopefully they will be in touch shortly.

- Hi Linda, my mum is sorting posters ASAP. They will be up :)
Ellie, my dad let her off the lead not knowing she runs off. He very rarely walks them. when she has got off before she just runs and runs, we have just had to catch her. - 2015-05-20 16:42 Ellie
- As an aside, I
was wondering what spooked Rosie into running away. Could it have been the train tooting? This tends to spook my dog/dogs if out at the weekends so could be worthwhile if owners remember this and keep them on a lead. I once had to chase one of my little dogs nearly all the way back from Wainhill - it nearly killed me!!! - 2015-05-20 15:48 LindaT
- I haven't seen any posters up yet.Have texted daughter who is the listed contact & offered to put up posters if parents can get some done, even a Missing notice asap in the village would be better than nothing, also needs postering further afield as Rosie could have gone along the Ridgeway in either direction. Have passed the details on to another Chinnor dog owner I met today. First I've heard about a van stealing dogs, the police or local pcso should be informed if that is the case.
- 2015-05-20 11:22 Ellie
- Forgot to say that even though she has only lived there for six months, if she is walked regularly, then she should still be able to smell her way back home!
- 2015-05-20 11:19 Ellie
- Have you looked beyond the estate and around the lakes? It is quite 'dodgy' and dangerous in places but there are holes and unstable places where she may have got stuck so it's worth having a look, but be very careful! You may have to ask permission if the 'guards'are still there at the entrance of the Icknield Way!

- Have yo thought if using a tracker dog, Jenny and tiga can be found at www.k9tracker.co.uk
- 2015-05-20 10:52 Lakin93
- She lives on the old kiln lakes. She has only lived there 6 months so not sure if she knows the area.
- 2015-05-20 10:06 Ellie
- Sorry have only just treceived this info. Does Rosie live on the Kiln Lakes Estate or was she just visiting? Not sure whether I've missed something. I was just wondering that if she knows the area then would she be likely to find her way back by herself?
- 2015-05-20 09:46 Lakin93
- Rosie still has not appeared please keep eyes peeled for her. I have been made aware that there is a van going around catching dogs for bait for dog fights. Really hope they have not picked her up!
- 2015-05-19 20:23 LindaT
- Walked Ridgeway behind estate this evening with binoculars, met a number of other walkers & showed them Rosie's photo on my phone & asked them to spread word. I did plan to go into nature reserve but cows there & been chased b4 so as I had my dog I didn't chance it! Posters need to go up asap. Have texted friend @ Crowell & asked her to spread word. I do hope there is a sighting soon, there are a lot of sheep with lambs in Bledlow direction so hope Rosie keeps clear. Will keep eyes peeled.
- 2015-05-19 18:03 Lakin93
- Thank you so much! Hopefully she will turn up soon!
- 2015-05-19 18:00 SH
- We will look out for her each morning & evening around Henton & the surrounding fields when we walk our dogs. keeping everything crossed for Rosie's safe return.
- 2015-05-19 18:00 Lakin93
- Makes me feel very sad to think it is another night she is scared and alone she is old too so does not help. Please keep an eye out for her!
- 2015-05-19 16:52 Lakin93
- She went missing around the Old Kiln lakes estate where my parents live. She got off the lead and just ran away. Posters will be put up, Mum is struggling to get her head round it. All Vets have been contacted and the Microchip company.
- 2015-05-19 16:37 LindaT
- Any info on exactly where Rosie went missing; was she in the village or up in the hills? Have any posters been put up, my printer is not working but I am willing to collect posters and put up as I walk twice a day around the areas surrounding Chinnor and also further afield. Will text owner, I notice the two numbers given are the same ones.
