I had to post this - from owner's FB page, telling Lola's story:
""Shelagh gave me the nod and I gently called Lola, she was only a few feet away from me. I lifted myself ever so slowly as I did it, so i was propped on one elbow, posing no threat to Lola.
She and I locked eyes. She recognised me! The filthy hound with those soft brown eyes knows I'm safe and came to me, rolled onto her back and placed her head on me.
"Hello Beautiful" I sobbed with joy and pain all at once. Lola had finally wanted to come home.""
Of course, Lola always wanted to come home, she just didn't know how. But when she saw owner, she knew she was home. What a beautiful moment. x
Shelagh
Update from vets; Lola has lost a whopping 10 KGS. She is severely dehydrated, has a couple of superficial cuts to her leg which had started to become infected, also query a problem with her left hip. She is on antibiotics and anti-inflammatories and has to return next week. Lola has a Facebook page have you found my hound. If anyone would like to see her when caught pics are on there. Also to add that Ron who has helped me so much in our quest to catch Lola, volunteered 'not' to come on final capture as he was worried he would spook her as she doesn't like men. That was a very gracious thing to do and much appreciated. Without Rons local knowledge we would have been severely hampered. Thanks so much Ron you are a star.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Shelagh and Ron were instrumental in supporting owner through what has been a very difficult time. And, Bec, you are one very strong lady despite what you may think. You have faced adversity head on and did everything we advised. Now you have Lola home, everything else will fall into place. You did it! You got your Lola back! Your family is complete once more and I bet Phoebe is very happy too!
Shelagh and Ron thank you for being there when we call for help. Everyone one of you who rallied round to help deserve a huge pat on the back. THANK YOU from all of us at DogLost for helping Lola and her family. God bless and kisses for sweet Lola xxxxx and Phoebe xxxx

Honestly, Shelagh, you deserve several medals for your tireless work looking for these lost dogs. Well done indeed.
Shelagh
Yes we have Lola. She is at vets with owner as has small gash on leg .Otherwise she is fine, dirty, cold, and hungry but OK. Went to field at 7 realized not right field. Located field at 8, Spent 10 mins ,thought not right too open so went through arch of trees and found sml footpath, walked round and stumbled upon Lola. She sloped off in a bush.10 mins later saw her again in open land close by,when she saw me she went to cover of trees. She was heading towards me using trees as cover. She spent a good 20 mins coming forward and retreating. I met owner and Lola continued to retreat and then advance. Finally with a shoulder of pulled pork and whole pack frankfurters I managed to entice her near to us. Eventually she approached us and owner was able to hold her by collar while I put lead on. Thanks to Ron,Kim Nolan and all who have helped in pursuing Lola.
AlisonH

Oh my gosh! I think they have her..................
nicolapicola
Unfortunately not available today or tomorrow but if you still need help on Wednesday I could get over there. Please advise if you still need me then and where you want me to go. Meantime, I do have a little time to traipse the streets looking for Monty, which I will do a bit of today and hopefully tomorrow morning.
Shelagh
We were discussing the need to have watchers at all sighted locations today. Lola is really fast and we are hampered a bit as at least one field is a no-go area now and private land. The right of way has been blocked now with livestock moved into it,as a lot are comingwith dogs it would be pretty unwise to venture there. This means access has to be gained via another field which gives lLola a massive head start. We will need at least six people to include all sightings as farmlands are vast and will need two. If can't pin down a clearer route tomorrow we will try and work on 'group watch'.Regarding feeding station ,after tomorrow should have more idea if she is using same route daily or varying. Once that established there will only be a couple of us involved,so info on that will only be shared withthose involved. Thanks to kKim ( funky dogs) for kindly picking me up this morning and searching for Lola. Much appreciated
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
This is such brilliant news! You are all so lovely - thank you. Shelagh, when you sort out the feeding station etc, we will keep it for those in a need to know basis. For those of you assisting, Shelagh will advise where necessary, but we won't post it on here for obvious reasons. Please do keep watching and postering as this really is working! Lesley 21 well done. Sometimes it is best to actuially find a place and keep still and just watch. Even have someone at all the sighting locations and just watch, she should go to the same places. Yes, come on Lola, we all really need you home now before your owners and helpers have exhaustion! They are trying so hard Lola, they WILL find you! x
Lesley21
Oh Lola, time to go home now I think, you've had your fun!!! So near yet so far, really frustrating. I'll have a drive round again tomorrow, getting more familiar with Theydon Bois now!!
Shelagh
Two sightings Lola ;8.15 willing ale playing fields 8.20 field loughtkn lane just before house called the boundary. This field comes out at blakacre or hill roads, they lead to they on park rd(sighting yesterday). Then lead to glade green red and the farms. More posters are up around loughton lane. It seems she is bedding down somewhere in loughton/debden. I have left bowl at field and have managed to find a vantage point for viewing. Train times permitting I will go as early as I can and put food and hope I see her
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Shelagh texted me earlier, another sighting of Lola! So hope it is her eating the food! I couldn't get online till now so this a late update, so sorry, but good another sighting. 8.20am Black Acre Lane Junction, Loughton Lane in field. She is looking fit and well. Travelling between area where lost and Theydon Bois. We need more sightings so we can finish her route and then we can concentrate on the feeding station etc. Look how far you have all come since three days ago! Nothing then all these sightings. You have done fantastically well. You have got word out and now everyone is aware and calling. Just fantastic! x
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Well done ladies!
Shelagh
Myself and Kim( funky dogs) have been out from 5.30. We have searched all sighted areas, twice, station, postered all forest car parks and handed out flyers. We have been to t-hut,driven through loughton, buckhurst hill and Epping. Left food in cemetery and on return food gone. No way of knowing if Lola or foxes ate it. Walked forest land adjoining cemetery. Not a single sighting of Lola or a food source. Good thing most people no Lola is missing '
Unknown
All xd.
Shelagh
Just to add Lola is looking well and jogging along freely ( info from guy who saw her in cemetery). Many thanks to Ron who rushed to cemetery sighting this morning.
Shelagh
The sightings are 8.00am st Marys churchyard and woods, coppice row. There is a second farm off abridge road,I believe 1st turning on right,a lot of disused cars and barns. Land there joins field from yesterdays sighting. She was seen there today around 2.45pm. She had come from glade green road. Interestingly this sightings was minutes after we spoke toshepherd mentioned yesterday, who actually was quite hostile, denying any knowledge of a lost dog and also denying feeding stray cats,The lady in second farm had seen lLola twiceon wWednesday and thursday
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Seen in a field a few minutes ago. Owner out there too. All help gratefully received. Seen in another field twice earlier. Remember to watch and not chase, call owner. These helpers are amazing. Thank you!
Lesley21
Thankfully it looks like she's staying around the area. I shall drive out there myself as soon as I can, although have my fingers crossed that she might be found soon.x

my daughter is a horserider and local to Theydon bois.she will search when she rides tomorrow and ask all her horsey friends.hope poor Lola is found.
Shelagh
Update on Lola. Lola was seen by a guy this afternoon at footpath bottom of steps they on bois station. He identified her as Lola. He followed her through fields and thinks she went. through tunnel under m25. Owner and Ron were both there pretty quick and followed the route but couldn't find her.A number of people turned out and drove in different directions.I ma naged to find out from Steve, who. was the first sighter on Thursday( village green), that a kindly shepherd was leaving food and water out as well as open barn for cats etc.Gathering info from Ron and locals we established that there is a short cut through fields from shepherds barn to sighting today. Also shepherds barn is very close to village green. Nobody in at shepherds barn tonight but left flyer.Kim from funky dogs was going to drive to abridge to have a look. Many thanks to all who came to help. Hope to speak to shepherd tomorrow and try to get him to move food where he can watch it,with any luck he will see Lola. The area of sighting is rural, lots of livestock and fields.
JanW
Really encouraging she has been sighted, don't give up and I'm sure she is looking for "home" too.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Poor owner is terribly stressed, she is finding it hard to cope. We do need to coninue to ask for people to watch for Lola. PLEASE. Just watch for her & call owner with exact location. Thank you.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Thank you, Gino. Update from Shelagh on location: "Lots of work been done, but haven't seen or got her. However, found a good shepherd who may help. Possible bed down area. More tomorrow." More legs and posters needed. If anyone can sit and watch at dawn, that would be really helpful. Thank you so much people! Owner is so grateful to you. x
Gino
Further alerts sent to helpers in E4. IG9,10. CM6.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
More helpers on the scene! You are so fab! Please keep going. We need you! Austistic boy, young family, owner and Lola all need you! x
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Good plan, nicolapicola. Doing it now.
THIS IS THE LOCATION: After the bridge at station, left gate to playing fields leads to bridge over M25 that is where Lola was heading. We have Shelagh and I think Ron and another and owner on the scene. We do need more in the area please. Must stress, BE CAREFUL, due to tracks and roads. Thank you! And poster whilst there! x
nicolapicola
How about alerting all in E4 and IG9 and surrounding areas - we mostly walk our dogs in various parts of the forest and are close to the area in question.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
We need helpers out there to search and poster but be very careful!! Do NOT chase. We need to keep her away from the tracks. Can people poster heavily in that area as we need more sightings for owner, who has to come a fair way to get there fast enough. Thank you! x
Shelagh
Another sighting They on bois station, man called owner just now with sighting of stray beagle.

I'm wondering if Lola is trying to find her way home? I am more than happy to poster for Lola around Epping and rangers road on Saturday as I will be up there for Monty.Have Epping forest rangers and Epping warden been notified.Last edited: 2015-05-14 23:06:43 by Shelagh

We are pleading for helpers to find Lola. Family is going through a hard time at the moment and losing Lola as well, is almost too much to cope with. Not only that, but owners do not live in the area were Lola was lost - they live about 10 miles away. The the young family has to travel back and forth in between school times. A family member is an autistic boy who desperately wants his best friend home. PLEASE, PLEASE can we have helpers in Epping area poster all around the area from Upshire to the Wake's Valley Pond and beyond. PLEASE can we find local horse riders to help search? PLEASE can all pubs be notified. We are desperate. Thank you! xLast edited: 2015-05-14 21:56:15 by Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders

Thanks S. It seems she may have been picked up as someoen said they saw this happen. But as with all sightings, we do not really know if it was Lola, but we have to cover all our bases. Have advise downer to get crime number from police. But we also need to keep checking. Any horse riders that way please? x
Shelagh
Any recent sightings?

Have been watching closely and searching websites all I can do from here at present. I hope Lola has found a safe place to sleep and somehow finds her way home soon

I was at rangers road area lunchtime till three. Never saw her in my travels.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Is this near Rangers Road? Or Robin Hood way? She will probably hang around near the pub as its source of food smells and probably discarded food.
Gino, do we have email for owner? Was this listed by owner please?
