Twmballyn, I stand corrected if i didnt ask you to come with us, but i really thought i did, you were quite hard to get hold of at that time, so perhaps id intended to call you and couldnt get through, if i didnt ring you it wasnt intentional. With regard to Chyna, as i explained to you on the phone, she is very wrapped up with Chilli, and it consumes nearly every minute of her day, i speak to her on a daily basis, trying to come up with new ideas to try and trace Chilli, all to no avail at the moment, but i do know that she has tried to call you numerous times, and has left messages on your phone, because she rang me to say that you never get back to her. She also knows a friend or relative of yours in the Butchers, and she said that she always asks if there is any news on Lucy and Buster??? The address we went to, they actually had a border collie , we could see the dog from the gate, it was in a kennel at the bottom of the garden, i was trying to get a better look at it with my binoculars, because from the gate it looked like a full collie, thats actually when she came out and confronted us. The first thing we talked to her about was Buster and Lucy, and told her that was why we were interested in the collie, she let the dog out, and it was a collie cross, I gave her a poster of lucy and buster, then we had a conversation with her son, who appeared from nowhere, about Chilli, he had a lurcher with him and said he only knew about working dogs, and he would keep any eye out for her. His mother told him that she had the poster of lucy and buster, but he seemed more interested in Chilli because of the reward offered, and commented was it a no questions asked reward. I presume we are talking about the same woman??????? She was the only person we spent any amount of time with. Hope this clarifys the situation. Chyna asked me to ask whether you are going to come to the seminar she mentioned to you, she is waiting for you to call her back to let her know, so perLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

BC, thanks for the phone call. As discussed, you most definitely DID NOT ask me to come to the area I had informed you about. You did, however invite me to two other locations on previous occasions, which I was unable to attend due to family commitments. Having spoken to the lady you actually went there with AFTERWARDS, she informed me that she had made enquiries about her own lost/stolen dog but at NO TIME whatsoever mentioned to me that she had enquired about Lucy and Buster too and there was no message to this effect posted either!! My message was not intended to be insulting to you, but what I found to be correct at the time. I apologise if my remark upset you, but please try to imagine how I felt.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Twmballyn, Hi, as ive not been on doglost for a while, I was surprised to see your post dated 7/5/2007, i did contact you to tell you we were going to the area youd specified, and asked if you wanted to come with us, but you were unable to, and also to imply that well we were there we did not look for Lucy and Buster is an insult, as it happens i look for lucy and buster everywhere i go, and have posters of them on my van at all times, ive spoken to you many times regarding your dogs, and find your comment amazing!!!!!!!!! Several more dogs have been taken in this area recently. I think it is getting out of hand now and something needs to be done!!!!! Unfortunately, not all owners are as keen to get their dogs back as I am. I am still checking rescue forums daily but know in my heart of hearts that my dogs were stolen and won't end up in a rescue. However, I feel I must be still doing something and it eases the pain somewaht!!!!!! J.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Judy from the stray dogs sanctuary in Dorset rang me last week to check their website as they had a dog brought in who could be Lucy. It wasn't her but I fell in love with this little girl as soon as I saw her and I have taken her on. Collected her yesterday, a three hour journey each way. She travelled back well with no sickness at all. Today she has met my older BC and my new puppy. Great start, they are playing as we speak. However, she can't quite make out the horses and the cats are another story altogether - fingers crossed they will soon learn to live with each other as I don't want to have to return her to the Kennels - it's too far lol !!!!!! Still actively searching for my darling Lucy and Buster. J.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have emailed many livestock auctioneers/marts in South and Mid Wales with posters hoping to aim directly at the farming community. They have all agreed to forward the poster to their sister offices and put posters up on notice boards and cafes etc. Brecon & Radnor Express are willing to run the story and will be contacting me next week for more information. I have included Chilly too as she is in Powys. Fingers crossed. XLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Two border collies have been found about 1 mile apart in llanelli tonight, I have checked with Ron at the pound and it definately is not buster and lucy, it is a long coat and a short coat, young, look like litter brother and sister, but the markings are different, the long coat has a completely black face, and the short coat has a small white blaze about half as long as busters, the dogs will be up on site tommorow, but just to let everyone know we have double checked the dogs to make sureLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Had a tip off today that my dogs were at an address four miles away. Phoned the bobby who's dealing with it and five officers went to the address in question this evening - Turned out that, yes, they did have two border collies. However, they were puppies that had been acquired from the gypsies!!!! Another emotionally draining day in my quest to find my darlings. I just hope that they are safe and being looked after by whoever has taken them.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I think it is SO important that we keep a NATION WIDE eye on all our local papers for these 2 since the suggestion is most strogly theft! They could conceivably turn up anywhere PLEASE keep youreyes on the local ads and if you think it may be either of these-ring and ask a few questions to see if you are convinced re the seller.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Doglost (Nik) - Thank you very much. Any help would be so appreciated. I feel I am fighting a losing battle in my own area. Doglost is unheard of (even at the veterinary practices). I have tried to raise the awareness as much as I can and told vets to inform the public to use this site for both lost and found!!!! I have also been told of many dog thefts still happening locally (mostly Lurchers and JRT's) which don't get any further than telling the vet and the dog warden (and hoping for the best). I understand most of these are being picked up now in readiness for the forthcoming gypsy fairs i.e Stow, Appleby, where they will pass through the travelling community, no questions asked!!!!!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Twmballyn, I'm going to ask a couple of people to help here. With regard to the mailing list of vets, it isn't quite that simple. Our system automatically emails vets in specific postal areas, but we don't have the addresses and we aren't able to extract the information in a format that we can let you have. I can however email all organisations and helpers in the areas mentioned.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I feel so sorry for you, Buster and Lucy having read your latest posts and having once suffered a similar experience by neighbours etc. It does make you hate your surroundings, feeling victimised, but you just have to take the attitude that you will NOT be beaten, you have done nothing wrong by buying your property and people will eventually tire of such behaviour and move on to something more worthwhile. In the meantime do try to give your love to your old dog and the new puppy who needs you and that love will, I am sure, be returned tenfold and be a great comfort to you while you continue with your search. I am too far away from you to be of practical help but wish you all the luck in the world. I should keep your eye on all the rescue centres on the internet as there are many Collies on there and probably only you would recognise your own dogs accurately.Dont feel too alone as there are lots of us out here thinking of you and wanting to help and you may well find out that Buster and Lucy have not, in fact left the area and that you get that important phone call in response to all that you have done to get publicity. All the best. Just updated Buster. I miss my darling Lucy so much, she has left an enormous gap in my life. I cry as I write this as this girl has helped me through a very difficult 18 months. I don't know what would have done without her. Now, with them both gone, the place is so quiet, it's like a ghost town. I hate this place, it't brought nothing but bad luck for us. I still have the old girl and the new little lad (but I can't seem to bond with him at all as I am constantly thinking "how long is it gonna be before he is taken too"?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I think it is important to assume get maximum publicity. I know you have been walking everywhere but at this stae it is a bit like 'a needle in a hay stack' purel from the point of view it is impossible how to know where to go. So I tnink hit the computer! e mails of poster to EVERYONE in the dog world you can think of. It was a newspaper ad that got Judy back-with a photo which drew people's attention to it. So 1. most read local paper. 2. Free ads in your area with photo 3. radio stations and tv if possibe 4. join forces with any other pet owners who have lost their dogs in your area to get the press to do a story? Some of these people wll refuse BUT I think make Lucy and Buster 'too hot to handle' and/or too famous to miss. All police stations you can find in your county. All dog wardens. All rescue centres-particularly request they circulate Nation wide All this can be done from home and at relatively no cost but time. If you want any help then please ask-I am not in your area but I do have a computer. If I have your Post Code etc I can do some of this from here. xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

As soon as admin receive a picture and posters are e-mailed to helpers posters need to be put up in the area a.s.a.p. lamposts, entrances to parks, vets, petshops, ask postie, milkmen, binmen (even put poster on bins), schools, deliver to houses etc. Handout smaller posters to people, especially dog walkers. Put A4 poster in car windows. RSPCA and rescue centres need checking regularly and preferably visited in person, by owner or some who knows Lucy. xx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
