Texted owner but no reply. Maybe they're not still looking for KIBA
Veronica
Not a great picture but could this be Kiba, with Chester Dog Wardens?

Jayne can you repeat that please
Not sure what it meant
Being a bit thick sorry
Karis
patlucky-leigh should come up on a search-cdh is Cheshire dogs home-their fb page comes up on-Manchester and Cheshire dogs home as they are linked-leigh is nothing to do with either cdh or mdh-hope this helps-very much doubt this dog went to mdh-and now see Jayne has been told the dog is now back with owner.x
c
http://www.leighdogsandcatshome.co.uk, it's worth contacting them and common fold Kennels to see if he has passed through them x
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Have left messages on both mobiles asking for an update...we are being told the dog is back from someone who says they have spoken to the owner...
BigGSDPatlucky
Another strange thing this dog went into reunited twice and I am not sure how or who did it
Was it the kennels I wonder
I had it put as lost again both times
BigGSDPatlucky
c I cannot get a website up for Leigh CDH website.

Karis I don't know what is happening
I am no where near the area so cannot help by going there

Trouble is now the owner has stopped answering my text.
Karis
is there any chance that this dog had previously had a different owner, and chip details not been updated by current owner?
c
Hope Kiba hasn't, been wrongfully claimed, do Mdh check for proof of ownership when dogs are picked up.
Also AW from all areas are always taking dogs to Common Fold Kennels, Cumbermere Lane, Tyldesley M29 8ND 01942 882321 before they are taken to leigh dog and cats home, I see vans driving down there all the time x

On Leigh dch website always check rehoming page as well as stray dogs page, some dogs are put on the rehoming page very quickly, if not moved somewhere else.

I agree with Patlucky...also wouldn't the owner know that she had registered the dog with them, so worth a check? I think this needs looking into.
BigGSDPatlucky
When the lady phoned me yesterday morning she said there was a found dog.
I sent them all the details from here.
She told me this dog had been reunited via the chip.
If a dog same name ~ same place found same description of the dog.
The dog was found just a day after this one was lost
Something says this dog was rehomed and they are not letting on.
That is just me
I find that very worrying
DogLostJackalee (Kathryn) - Area Co-ordinator - Greater Manchester
It isn't unknown for the AW's to have mistakenly added a dogs details to their system as "found" when it should have been "lost". The fact that the details registered on the website names Kiba makes me think that this was an administration error (as millypod first mentioned)and this was when Kiba was first registered as missing. This still needs to be confirmed though.

The AW's cover many council areas, some use MDH and others Leigh CDH. If they have collected a few dogs and its late in the day they may drop all dogs off at the nearest dogs home, irrelevant of what area they are from. If the AW's cover your area it is always wise to keep an eye on both Manchester and Leigh Dogs Homes.

Are there plenty of posters up in the area? All local vets, pet shops etc aware Kiba is missing?

perhaps they made a mistake? If rehiomed very quick as his 7 days were only up at the weekend and owner has been phoning since Sunday, which imo would make Animal wardens negligent in re homing him. Think they need to be rung again and asked to clarify, because it is unlikely two dogs with same name go missing in same area on same day....Also think MDH should be contacted direct or visited by owner with a photo. He has been on this site since the day after he went missing, how much effort is it for them to check here?Last edited: 2015-05-07 22:04:15

When the lady told me this morning I too was totally surprised.
I am now wondering if it is just a case this dog has been rehomed.
Rather worrying that
What can one do though?
Unknown
What are they chances of two dog dogs cl ibm going missing I in he same postal ar a on the a the se Kiba is not they most common dogs name. I think the owner needs to go to MDH with a photo of their dog. Animal Wardens have not covered themselves in glory so far.Last edited: 2015-05-07 19:52:58

Sadly the dog called Kiba that was found.
Had a micro chip and was claimed buy the owner.
They did phone me earlier.
Karis
if picked up in Rochdale-would be MDH-is this dog chipped?if so owner should have received phone call on admission-then red card sent out-are owners details up to date?if no chip, owner needs to go in person to mdh-to see for themselves.x
Sharon
Don't know if this helps but on Rochdale Council Stray Dogs page it says strays get taken to Manchester Dogs Home and to contact them on 0844 501212. Also what about ringing the Council and telling them that Animal Wardens are uncontactable?
Unknown
owner needs to find out where dogs get taken and ring kennels direct
BigGSDPatlucky
Below Millypod put a message about a dog found

Sorry to see that KIBA is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (86063)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
