Glynafon - I'd had exactly the same thought - in this pic he could at a glance be thought of as a border. HEAD OFFICE maybe we could ask owner for another photo? Possibly people may not have been looking out for the right dog, or have seen Russell but thought in their heads that it should be a border they were looking for? Surely it's worth a try, he looks such a gorgeous boy...!! CVLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, Have just spoken with Russell's owner - he's still missing and has been now since 10th February. The other dog that went missing with him was found about 12 days after but there has been no news whatsoever on Russell. She is hoping that whoever has him is treating him well. I have said that I would leave a message here and that we would renew posters for him... AnnieLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I asked the owner to return my call to let me know either way and they haven't... I just hope they haven't gone on holiday... haven't had a chance to chase them up i'm afraid. I left full contact details for the finder on their answerphone so hopefully it was followed up. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I did not think much about the RSPCA saying the piece about people paying the ransom money was not helping as what else would you do? All any one who loves their dogs want is their dog back isnt it? Not really sure where the RSPCA coming from with that coment. Sorry Russell maybe should not be using your page to discuss this just would like to know what exactly they would expect us to do thats all.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

that is weird because the press release went out with the doglost logo on the top and dog lost mentioned throughout - as did mr Lee when interviewed. how strange.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just watched the piece on Russell. Its a shame DL was not mentioned. Are the RSPCA helping with his search then? Stay safe Russell until you are found xxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This is the link to the piece on Russell: www.bbc.co.uk/southtoday click on "Dog theft victim's loss" on the right. Not sure how the RSPCA got in on the act whilst we weren't mentioned. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Jack Russells usually have a lot more white than this, so it might be worth checking all terrier type dogs in RSPCA and rescue centres, as he might not be listed as a JRT.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Great news for Spot, any chance he would lead owners back to wherever he had been and lead them to Russell - perhaps then the Fell and Moorland heroes could get involved?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Great news! Spot has been found. He was found near a pathway looking rather bedraggled and skinny in a local woodland area, close to where he went missing in the early this morning. Owner believes that spot was able to get out of the hole he must've been stuck in due to the weight loss and hopes that if Russell went down the same hole it will leave enough room for him to get out now too. Welcome home Spot and lets hope a safe and speedy return of Russell very soon also!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

As soon as admin receive a picture and posters are e-mailed to helpers posters need to be put up in the area a.s.a.p. lamposts, entrances to parks, vets, petshops, ask postie, milkmen, binmen (even put poster on bins), schools, deliver to houses etc. Handout smaller posters to people, especially dog walkers. Put A4 poster in car windows. RSPCA and rescue centres need checking regularly and preferably visited in person, by owner or some who knows this pair. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Ron, the owner, and I appeared on Mark Carter's Drive-time show on BBC Southern Counties Radio last night. Mark gave us plenty of opportunity to get over Spot & Russell's story - so many thanks for that. The story has already gone over to Kestrel FM, Garrison Radio and all the local newspapers. We are hoping that the large reward will open a few doors.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
