Archsuzanne - Much as I would love to take the credit..... The update was on Ruffords Vet FB page by the lovely family who have adopted him - I just cut and paste the update as the vets are local to my mothers so I've followed the story on local FB pages. You're right about the lovely family ❤️

What at wonderful "reunited" story and what a lucky, lucky boy. I'm so happy to hear that Yoshi has found himself such a lovely home and truly caring family - both human and furries. Seems like it was just meant to be. And a HUGE thank you to Ruffords Vets for their care and expertise and for making sure Yoshi found the perfect home and family. Wishing you all much happiness.

Rehomed - Now called Yoshi
From FB Ruffords Vet page cut and pasted

"We thought the Akita was deaf as you said but we have decided to name him Yoshi, only that he responds to this name instantly without fail. He enjoyed the car journey home, he has ate and drank fine, has took his meds, followed me EVERY WHERE around the house and garden, introduced to my other 3 Akitas fine but still keeping him seperated for now so he can relax and rest
He was a bit miffed at my pet goose but shows no aggression... only curiosity which i find lovely haha

Hes also had 2 very short walks, both times when walking back past our home, he has walked up my driveway himself with no indication from myself what so ever!... he obviously knows this is his home now and it will continue to be for him forever

Before bed, the cheeky old sod stole a sausage from my plate on the table, but i forgive him

Ive just checked on him at midnight, not interested at all about going outside... maybe because its raining haha but he did enjoy the cuddle i have given him for 5 minutes in his bed, he fell straight back to sleep in my arms so im hoping he trusts me 110%

We are looking forward to get him more fit, groomed and healthy over the coming weeks so he is all ready for summer holidays away in our motorhome with the other 3 bears

Again thank you for everything, thanks to all the people who have shown support to Yoshi and this truly amazing veterinary surgery also... you are all fantastic

See you on Tuesday/Wednesday next week for Yoshi's check up
I will call in advance."
End of quote

Thank you from all of us for giving this cuddly oldie another chance of love and life in his twilight time. Xx

Update from Ruffords Vets;
"You all may be wondering about the found Akita, now named "Duno" by our nurses. He is doing well. He has arthritis and urinary incontinence, however this isn't stopping us from falling in love with him. We have found him a potential new home and he is receiving daily baths in preparation. Thank you all so much for your likes, comments and shares, with out this we wouldn't have had so many offers for potential new homes. You are all amazing. We will continue to keep you all updated."

Bo
The blaze on the face is different.

Hopefully the Vet Group will look at the video and I am sure if appropriate they make take action. Really encouraging to see that he has had several offers of a home for him in his twilight time.

PS I have sent a message to the vet group for them to possibly have a look at the video link mentioned below. Last edited: 2015-03-31 15:18:35 by ClaireC

Are we SURE it's not the dog in the video? It looks very similar and she must be bricking it after all the fuss the video caused so could easily have dumped the dog further afield as a cover.
collieowner
Thanks for the info. Yes lovely pic of him at vets. Looks like he has several offers of a forever home ,bless him.
ClaireC
Totally agree about the nice piccie of him. Receiving the best possible care I'm sure and in the best place.

Collieowner, copy and paste the ulr ( ie https etc) into your search engine. But the picture it brings up is from someone in Silsden, W Yorks abusing a similar dog a few days ago so doubt it is same dog as different area. https://www.facebook.com/PetAbuseUK/photos/a.249913018390806.57056.248077665241008/820475828001186/?type=1

Poor old fellow - he looks sad, or maybe resigned. At least you are in kind hands, whatever happens now.
