I was hoping for a bit more feedback on this one, would anyone be willing to ask at these stable yards if this fella is owned or not?? thanks Ray..

PS/ NB In most racing yards the dogs do roam free, and it's quite likely some go hunting on their own account. Not all racing people are very fussy about things like collars! So it's possible this dog has an owner locally, and goes home at night...

There are a lot of racing stables in the area, notably Henrietta Knight's in West Lockinge: they all have animal loving and dog-owning staff, who ride about over the downs. I've posted a bit on Conker's page on FB and tagged Hen K, also a dog rescue lady in Lambourn who may know how to tap into local help. I haven't been down that way for 6 years now so I'm not sure who's in some of the yards that side of the Wantage road. Trainer Paul Cole has gallops that side but not so far towards Wantage iirc.

There is a big NAWT kennels on that road - where they keep the long-term oldies. They might be able to help with volunteers:

There are a lot of travellers through that area due the wildness of the downs and the general horsey 'culture' - lots of Irish working in the area too... So there are quite often dogs esp lurchers abandoned when they move on. For that reason, this dog could have come from any part of the countryLast edited: 2015-03-22 23:43:05 by CorbiereW

I have shared this poor boy onto Conker's missing page asking for help in the Lockinge area to set up feeding station. Ray I will let you know if I get any volunteers. Is there anyone from the South/Oxford Doglost people Coordinating this dog?

I have been watching this page and hoping for some good news and/or a closer photo. It occured to me that there is a slim chance it could be Rollo 67336 lost (vanished) in Devon but from Oxford. Remember if it is him he would look different ie slimmer and ungroomed. Please bare him in mind when this one is caught.

Please anyone local help Ray by feeding in regular place for a few days, Ray is brilliant and dedicates so much time to dogs who need trapping. I am sure if regular feeding pattern he will get this lovely dog
