Ian, re my advice email - do everything on there - keep calling Cleansing dept of local council, also the Highways Agency for your area and ask if they have sen a dog on the roads. They will NOT call you, you have to keep asking them. Give posters to the dustmen, postmen, taxi drivers and bus drivers. Also check with rail station (Statin Rd - assuming rail) and Network Rail. The more posters there are, the more Maisie will be be sighted as they will know who to call and the more she will be made too hot to handle if someone has her. Trying to get through to some of these agencies and get the true facts can be very difficult as thet rarely keep records, or good records, and often need to be pushed to check them. Persevere - you need this checked. Please, everyone keep your eyes out for Maisie and help poster. We need 100's all around the area up to 10 miles out in all directions as if Maisie is living wild she can do a biggish triangle. Thanks.
Ian
Hi Posters are up, and were refreshed last week, Local dog warden is aware and is keeping an eye out. Thanks

Although Maisie has been missing a while now please don't give up. Very important to make sure posters are up everywhere so people will know she's still missing.
Also please keep checking with the Dog Wardens, vets and rescue centres in case she has been taken in. Most of these will scan for a microchip but sometimes they can be missed if it has moved or even failed.

Hi, it was me that saw her. It was one morning not sure of day. It was a few weeks ago. 10.25am ish. She ran in road in front of me I slowed down a car was pulled up on side of road and a few people about whom I thought were trying to catch her. She was skittish and ran into Station Cresent. I was on way to work and didn't stop. I wish I had now. I follow doglost posts and later on spotted online that she was missing. I drive from Southend to Rayleigh nearly every day along the back roads. I haven't seen any posters up about her. Maybe some could be put up. Other people were around. Busy road and time of day.
Ian

Comment on Doglost South East post (approx 7pm Thurs) fm Sarah Akar:
"I am so gutted. I saw this dog. It ran in front of my car it was very scared. It nearly got hit by a car. It ran up what I believe is called station crescent in Rayleigh. I can't believe it's still missing. I thought someone was trying to catch, I was on my way to work. X"Last edited: 2015-04-09 18:56:57 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex

Advice emailed on behalf of Kimmybear Area Co-Ordinator Essex and Hertfordshire. Will ask for update also will ask if have more clear photos. x
colliebird
Border collies come in all colours and all lengths of coats, I had one looked exactly like her that was KC and ISDS registered, but had white tip of tail which can't be seen on these photos. A side shot would be useful.

You can get both long and short haired Border collies but looking at the photo I would say she cross breed.
Rose
Do not think she looks anything like a border collie, dont they have more hair! x

Have to agree that she looks nothing like a bc , more a poss bc x sbt maybe ? a side on piccy would be better too , as it's hard to gauge her size from these piccies .
BorderCol
Maisie looks quite unusual for a Border Collie; just wonder if that's the most helpful description for finding her?

Sorry to see that MAISIE is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
