Hello everybody, I'm Tara's owner. I'm so sorry to have been slow in posting on here to thank you all, my only excuse is that things were a little fraught during the 26 hours she was missing. Big thanks to Megan for taking control. To Peter Williams for his assistance and to SarahW for her help in placing extra posters. The dog walkers in Footlands were superb in extending their walks and scouring the woods for her. My family and friends also spent hours out looking and combing the area. She was found by a father and his son in Barnes Wood across the road. We were so happy , excited and grateful that we didn't even get their names, I have their phone number and will contact them. Tara is the third lost dog that the son has found!
My theory is that something spooked Tara when we got back to the car park in Footlands from our walk in Barnes, then at some stage, she went back to Barnes to look for me as that is our most frequented walk.
She's slept almost continuously since she got back and appears to be a little stiff but is just about back to her old self now. No walkies today other than a short stroll down the lane where we live. Back to normal tomorrow when I've recovered too!!

So glad she was found. We live nearby and decided to go to Footlands wood today with our dogs to see if we could find her. I have registered my 3 dogs here as a result. Was heartbroken for the owners but so very happy they have been reunited. I saw this on shares on Facebook, another useful tool to spreading the word. Perhaps the owners would let other concerned people know she has been found safe and sound on Facebook.

Just had a call from owner who says that they have found Tara. She is wet and dirty but ok. Glad to be putting this little one into the reunited section.

I have just spotted this one on PetsLocated.co.uk ref. number is GU0029530 it looks very similar , fingers crossed . I don't know how to share , good luck.

I have emailed Tara's owner with our standard Doglost advice and asked him to check on here for details where posters have been done for him. Hopefully he will register and post on here with an update when he gets a chance.

Posters now also in orchard farm, the oak furniture shpp, the pub at cripps corner, both plant nurseries on the way to staplecross plus the post office and Sedlescombe vineyard. Run out of posters, energy and time! Hope this has helped.

Ok, so am in the car park now and no sign of her. Have put two posters up at the main entrance to Battle Great Woods, taken posters in to Swallows Oast Livery as they back on the woods and also Vinehall Farm as they own a lot of the land on the other side of the road. Have searched the first 20 feet ina all along the road edge in case she's injured but no sign. Now going in to Orchard Farm over the road on way to Staplecross and will do as many houses as I can on the way.

The woods back on to and join several other woods and Sedlescombe Vineyards. Would be worth putting posters up there as well as entrance to the woods too as well as into the houses on the junction of A21 & B2089. There are a couple of entry places via footpaths on B244 as well.
Great to see that Tara has a microchip as well as a collar and tag.
Hope Tara is found soon.
(Sorry I won't be around today to help as it's my wedding anniversary)

PS Comment by owner on one of his posts says Tara was lost:
Footlands Wood carpark (between the A21 and Cripps Corner). At the end of the car park there is grass. Tara trotted off on the left hand path (the road side) you'll notice a transmitter there, she was to the right of that. We've been up there again with her best mate, a beagle, this morning and had loads of dog walkers combing the area for us but nothing so far.

A dogvwas found this morning early hours running down Battle High st, looks similar to Tara, but have sent fb photo to owner who says sadly not Tara ..

I've literally driven past here twice just now and would have stopped to take a look, if I had known about this dog. Alerts need to go to TN31 as we are very close by and therefore is a local dog walk for many from my area.

Have to go to bed as between nights at the momebt, but will check back later. Hopefully to see good news.

I'm printing out some posters to take with me to Footlands Woods this morning - what's the best thing to do with them? I was thinking - give them to people I meet, put them on people's cars and visit properties in the area, any other suggestions?

Is Footlands Woods the one on the left after Orchard Farm (on the bends) on the road from Staplecross to the A21? Could head over there in the morning with my dog to have a look both in there and Barnes Woods opposite if I'm in the right place...
