Very sadly, Hugo has now been found accidentally drowned in the canal. Thank you all for your help; if an admin can please remove the "lost" post now, we would appreciate it.

Thanks all, it was me who posted the later post, as I wasn't aware it had been done and the owner is my close friend. To confirm, the dog IS microchipped, NOT tatto'd, and was NOT tagged. He has a full length un-docked tail, and has a couple of bald patches on the side of his face from an allergy when he was a puppy. Thank you.

Hi Liz Q - when I asked his owner I think he thought someone was doing it but had lost track of who had said they would do what, so I put it up just in case, assuming two posts better than none. So my fault...

Btw I've met quite a few folks on the towpath who are out looking for him - you are amazing, thanks to everyone so far who is helping out. So far no news or reported sightings, so we are thinking he must have been taken off in car from near the boat. He's not the easiest dog to handle, so do let us know if you see any similar dogs in the area where the owner seems less in control than they should be. We're monitoring the dogs for sale websites as well.
